@@jashpippins8228 Yes, yes, Nikki Fictel, "Mom, I love him!", etc. I saw that episode. I said Dermott THOUGHT he was sassing his dad. We know better, but he didn't.
Never in my life have I seen a character so simultaneously likeable and Hateable at the exact same time. I hate Dermott so goddamn much, but the fact that he’s so realistic, the fact that I’ve known kids who are like him is what makes me like him so much as a character
He reminds me of SO MANY douchebags that drove me nuts in middle and high school but I don’t like hate him if only because I love his dynamic with Hank
He's that guy everyone knew growing up who acted like an idiot, but everyone cut him slack bc he came from a broken home. He didn't have good direction in life and eventually you actually start to root for him bc you know he's a decent guy at heart, just mixed up and trying to cope.
I like to think Helper is programmed so that Ventures can understand him inherently. That’s why Dean doesn’t know how he does it and Durment can do it too
@@maozedong1913 that’s why I said inherently. Brock learned to speak to Helper by being around him alot. But the venture boys can automatically understand
He may be an asshole, but goddamn, when he thought Hank killed Dean he stood by his friend and tried to help him in his own mall-ninja edge lord kind of way. That's admirable.
@@zanethezaniest274 Your lips to God's ears brother. I always thought that this show was the best "adult cartoon" series ever made. I'll take The Venture Bros. over Famiky Guy, Southpark, Rick and Morty, Archer, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and even Futurama and the early Simpsons seasons!
I happy to see other people with same hopes for adult swim and maybe Hulu as me. Bring back the venture bros literally one of the best and under appreciated shows ever
@@jamesteegardner2273 The venture bros creators refused to allow predictive programming or political correctness in their episodes, so I'm surprised it ran as long as it did.
Dermott is every obnoxious poser friend we couldn't stand in high school. It seems the creators of the show knew guys like that too when they were teenagers.
Even if it came after the revelation, I love the subtle nod to Dermott's parentage that he can start to understand HELPeR. But that also raises the question, if Dean's later revealed difficulty in actually understanding him was meant to hint to something significant. We'll never know unless HBO comes through...
I love the idea that spending time with helper just allows you to understand his noises as proper speech. Its the same vein of comedy like Coco from Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends and i'm all for it.
All he needs to do is say the N word a whole bunch with one friend, then act like he's never said it ever with his other friend. Before he knows it, he'll be voicing Disney characters too
I miss this show I own seasons 1-5 now I have to order the rest of the available seasons and have a marathon, thanks for uploading these videos they are awesome
The thing is about Dermott is that he actually had a normal upbringing and education, while Hank and Dean were variously sheltered and dragged around the world on wacky adventures for their entire lives. Dermott has a measure of common sense and can hold down a regular job, while Hank and Dean are pointed out to have no real life skills.
I always liked that "So close and spend so much time together that they're one 'accidental' crotch grope away from being boyfriends" vibe that Hank and Dermott's friendship had. Reminded me of something like Bulk and Skull from the Power Rangers or Rocksteady and Bebop from TMNT. They're two halves of the same idiot.
I like how Brock(who is used to people fearing him) mostly seems confused by his sass. It's like seeing someone repeatedly trying to put his dick in an electrical outlet like that is a normal thing to do.
He's like that kids who constantly brags about his step dad being cool but in actuality he's just trying to attention and admiration from everyone else because his step dad is actuality an abusive and neglectful asshole
thinking that the government only registered the inside part of his feet as weapons just seals the deal with venture bros being the funniest show ive ever seen
This would have been so fucking funny if Dermott actually was Brock's biological son and actually was able to fight like his father.... i.e. not getting his ass kicked by Dean's flailing... e.e esp if there was more of him sassing his dad.
