I was lucky enough to know him since my grandfather was his pastor. He used to take me and my sister for rides around the block in his Rolls-Royce when we were little. I last saw him in a barber shop in LA in 1999 or 2000. I also attended his funeral where I saw OJ Simpson and Michael Jackson. He is always missed. His firm represented our family against a hospital successfully. We were and still are very proud of him and his great career. And I'm glad he lived to see Geronimo Pratt walk out of prison. He BEAT the FBI in a 27 year case. He never gave up on his brother. That was his proudest professional moment. Gotta love that.

I used to despise Cochran, but I see now what he did. As they said, he put the system on trial. This trial went exactly the way it needed to: to expose flaws, expose nefarious parties and to show that the race issue is way more complicated than anyone thought.
@gowerbarnes
@gowerbarnes 4 года назад
This shouldn’t have been about race though - it should have been about the clear evidence that O.J. did it - he used race to smoke screen the evidence that’s all - he didn’t care about nothing else

Once you tamper with evidence no one knows for sure what really happened. Why didn’t he just follow protocol? Furhman was a known racist who set up so many innocent black men and put them behind bars . He should have been the one behind bars. It was even admitted in trial he would find reasons to pull over “nig@@“ black man if he had no reason he find one. Funny Fuhrman was the only one criminally charged in the case and stripped Of the badge. He should have got life for what he was out their doing for 20 years. Because of course they’re not going to admit to their guilt. I’m trying to say that Johnnie knew O.J. was guilty of the crime of murder and defended him. And to your point, yes he is legally defending him but Cochran is using that as his validity to defend someone who took two beautiful souls from this earth. Look at how he brilliantly dodges or maneuvers anything insinuating guilt on O.J. He’s got you fooled that’s for sure.

All the good he did , erased with the shameful deflection in the OJ case. Of course he knew. He did his job but not with honor.

Maybe attorneys like yourself shouldn’t charge so much an hour if you want everyone to have a fair trial.

George Carlin was so spot on about genetic inheritance. It didn’t surprise me one bit his father was a top salesman.

Why is his Father's Background relevant in O.J. Simpson case. Johnny Cochrane was one of the best Lawyers in USA.

I think he did a brilliant job with the O.J trial...obviously he’s defending a murderer but he performed his job brilliantly...and he did nothing that involved corruption during the trial...he simply dealt with the evidence and told a different narrative...may he rest in peace

How many times did Cochran work pro bono for a poor Black man? He didn’t. It’s all about the money when it comes to the crunch. Great defence attorney. And, he’s very likeable.

He had a client named Geronimo Pratt (framed by the US Government) who he worked with in the 1970’s and got him released from prison in the 1990’s.

No doubt in my mind that OJ was guilty and I think that Johnnie was well aware of OJ guilt however he was still a great lawyer.
