Buxton XP sound design and mixing is different to making a song And I think u just haven’t been listening to the right artists tbh a lot of boring repetitive artists produce the same kick snare, kick clap riddem beat that isn’t melodic and focuses on live performances or just to play loud. I suggest these artists Trinergy Panda Eyes Chime Soltan Teminite Geoxor Barely Alive Illenium

Also yah I think the issue with a lot of newer dubstep is a lot (not all) sounds lifeless and are focused towards heavy live shows set cuz they get paid a lot more depending on what shows the appear at. Or they just enjoy focusing on sound design and less about the flow and upbeat jams
