Imagine me, tired and ready to sleep. Put on a 3 hour grumps comp, I imagine it will be calming and good to have in the background. Then, 2:36 comes along. Never been so startled.

Just so everyone knows I did some quick math and this comp only contains a little over 40% of the whole Club 51 series (which is almost 7 hours long, which this comp isn't even close to). Almost half of it is totally edited out. So to anyone still complaining, this isn't a copy paste of episodes or anything even close to that, there's plenty of editing in these comps, some people prefer longer comps, please chill. Lol

I'd never seen the Hanafuda footage before, and just something about the juxtaposition of the beauty and peacefulness of that game with them shouting things like, "yeah, I got the chrysanthemum in the pot, bitch!" is so hilarious to me also 1:01:36 gets me to crack up every single damn time
this comp is SO calming to me. i listen to it to go to sleep lately! i turn it on, hear dan's lil musical "you can see that i am farting," and all my troubles melt away
@@fire8oy it probably helps that im a pretty heavy sleeper, but i genuinely dont notice the distorted audio anymore. i turn the volume down quite a bit, too
Every time it's Arin's turn I picture the meme where all the math equations are appearing on screen as he thinks so he can calculate the worst possible move and make it. He's like Bizzaro Bobby Fischer.
After all the GG comps I've listened and binged to while at work or right before I sleep, I always, ALWAYS come back to this one. I can keep this on loop in the bg for days on end. I'm coming up on a month straight. At this point I've memorized what they say. So perfectly edited and put together. And when I have time, I just sit down and watch, and I notice the little edits that's been put in, the zoom-ins, the extra clips. I woke up from a nap almost screaming once because Gary's frantic meowing slipped into my dream. Thank you for this. This is my ultimate sleep aid.

This is a fantastic compilation! It has the best of both worlds by cutting out slow or less interesting footage, but still include all the build-up and context that makes the comedy work.
I love how Dan's "What if people bet on our Checkers games?" is literally the plot of one of my favorite movies, Rat Race (Yes, I know it's a reimagining of It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad world,) where some mega-rich assholes come up with absurdly stupid bets all the time, and one of their favorites is putting $2 Million in a locker in a train station and sending a small group of people halfway across the country to get it first.
I've watched this whole video like 4 times, but here I am again. I love the simplicity of bored games and the intimacy of it. Their commentary is just amazing

To this day, I still don’t understand how this compilation is the most successful compared to the ones like Arin Annoying Dan, Wheel of Fortune, or Worst of Sonic. I honestly think of this as either second or third place but nope! I guess people really love these board games.
I had a bad spur of migraines and general sickness when they played the clubhouse games, so by association this compilation made me think I tasted medicine.

Dude, once you play it for a while, you’ll gain Connect 4 Sense! I played this so much in elementary school that once I replayed it and even seeing them play this on the show, my Connect 4 instincts kicked in!
The Ludo/Sorry game that was making them so mad at the end is literally called Frustration in the UK. It’s played on a plastic board with a dome in the middle with the die inside. You push the dome down and it clicks and throws the die for your roll. Prevents accusations of cheating, but does nothing to prevent the raging anger which ensues in every game... 🤣
@@archgirl They're pretty similar I suppose. Sorry is played with cards, and the cards can have various effects on them including going forward, going back, sending another player to the beginning, etc. The board also has effects like sliding you along certain paths. You just have to get all of your pieces to your home base. Frustration/Trouble is pretty similar, only you only have a dice to roll, so no effects, and the board doesn't have any effects either.
To be honest I'm not a fan of the edited bits. At least audio edits. It's a bit jarring when I have this on in the background or sleeping to it then the volume suddenly gets jacked up for a robot voice or something. Not dunking on the compilation itself, just throwing this out there
