Ryan is one of my all time favourite artists in general, a heroine almost. Her rendering is insane and her blacks so bold and beautiful. If there is an artist I would get anything tattooed, even a tiny blip, it's her. And I'm a picky one. However, Laura is the type of artist I want to be.
Ryan's "that is everything I have ever hated" is such an iconic line. I hate that just as much as she does, even more impressive how well she pulled it off. I love her and I'd love to get tattooed by her one day.
How cool is it to have a ink master finale winning tattoo on your back forever. I never understood why canvases would willingly get a tat at the beginning of the season while they’re weeding out the weak links lol. So many disaster tattoos are given at that time
@@ammdakin They’re free for the canvas. The thing about master canvases is the artist gets complete control. Basically they need to be a blank canvas literally so they can’t get anything super personal. Like Jason’s and Tatu Baby’s first canvases both backed out after one session and they had to get someone else.
Laura's robot is INSANE! How did she get that to look like real chrome?? When you can get Chris Nunez to smile, you know you've done an awesome job. Best tattoo I've ever seen on this show. She definitely deserved her win.
I've been watching a few of these compilations and the clever cutting around of Oliver peck is really well executed Whoever was editing these and meticulously cut around Oliver peck shots was well done obviously done cause he was fired from the show
I can't remember exactly but if you can find the full episode, he talks about getting permission from a chief before he did it. I saw it too long ago to remember the detail but he talks about it in the finale episode. (I'm not Polynesian so I'm not offering opinion-just thought you might find it interesting to look up.)
I’m Samoan and it’s mixed feelings on my end. Nowadays what was sacred before has become so easily accessible. You can really go into any tattoo shop and get a Polynesian tribal. Of course, seeing tribal on people who aren’t polynesian, my first reaction was to be offended. But I feel, anyone who chooses to tattoo tribal art, it’s your responsibility as an artist to be respectful and knowledgeable of the culture. For anyone who goes into a shop for a Polynesian tribal tattoo, it’s your responsibility to understand why and what you’re choosing to represent. I’ve asked people who aren’t Polynesian, who have tribal tattoos what and why they chose their tattoos.. and it boils down to the same thing every time.. they love what the culture is about- Family, Loyalty, Respect, Protection. Tribal has become trendy and has lost the sacredness about it- But- I can appreciate anyone who dives into the culture & earns the right to wear it. He did a beautiful job and if he did get permission to tattoo this tribal, I respect & appreciate him for it. This is also just my opinion, I’m sure there are other Polynesians who may feel otherwise.
I guess everyone learned a new word on the show "anatomically" correct. Every other sentence anatomically correct. That popsicle isn't "anatomically" correct 😂
Ryan is my girl I would gladly get tattooed by her any day of the week and I'd let her pick I would not even bring or draw a design I'd let her tattoo me based on first appearance
honestly dude, the portrait of the little redhead kid that was between ryan and kevin, kevin 100% dropped the ball. Ryan's was by FAR way better than kevins, kevin butchered that portrait in a lot of ways that i feel like the judges misssed.
14:16 Now let's be honest here, Ryan's tattoo was WAAAAYYYY more accurate then Kevin's! 1st Kevin's left eye was a completely different shape; 2nd his nose was too narrow and long and the shading was just off 3rd the mouth was too low which changed the features of the portrait making it look like an older person rather than a kid. PS: I see why Ryan was kinda mad at the judgements, I'm sitting here watching and I'm mad those things got overlooked, imagine being there.
I was hooked on 60 Days In, Rookie Year Behind Bar, Hells Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, I just watched all three Fear Street movies, i was all over on Bar Rescue, just found this show from a pal of myne and im hooked its different it has a totally different feel of a contest to it love this show so far and it even helps because yeah alot of people can cook, Bar tend, or be a C.O. but not a everyday person can Tattoo
And yet she rocks colour like a beast in the watercolour one. She probably knows how to do them, just has a niche which is actually very good for an artist
Exactly!!!!! I still feel he should of won. They gave it to her, bc if they didn’t they would of felt bias by never picking a female artist. But it’s all base on who was the best and he should have won hands down.
Bruh, the other tattoos were a washed out grey, almost no contrast. The first tattooer almost beat with a style he was not good in, and the other tried competing against her in her specialty. I hate nitpicking tattoos, but you can tell which are the strongest
Unpopular opinion: Scientific deserved the win over Ryan. I feel like she lacked A LOT on those challenges and only won bc of popularity and the title she holds
If he had added more black and contrast it would have looked so much better: it ended up looking like it was already healed instead. It was a good tattoo, but Ryan's black need a much more tougher rival in my opposite opinion
Because he engaged in some "distasteful behavior" that was uncovered on MySpace years ago and therefore he was dismissed from his duties as judge on Ink Master. This is something that has happened fairly recently. I'm sure you can Google it to get further details. Since this happened, they (the show) have seemingly tried to to "erase" Oliver from any of the previous episodes/seasons, of which he was very much a part. So it sometimes seems very strange when you can hear his voice during a critique or even see him in a frame for a second. I hope that brief explanation helped a little bit. May you have a Happy New Year!
Season 8 by far was the worst bc of this female alliance, wasn’t no team peck or team Nunez! I was rooting for Gia and Nikki to go home and when they did, it was much needed for the house lmaoooo smh
I was rooting for Gian Karlee, he never went to the bottom at all in the season, he never complained and always delivered a quality tattoo. He was the runner up.
The female alliance actually brought up interest and share in this show, before there was just this stagnant air of "ugh I'm better other worst unga bunga". Some fresh air and positivity they always a balm in competitions. And there were no rules against alliance, so they just played smart by helping one another
