Why do I get the feeling that is the exact description of what Holt thought of Jake and we just didn’t get to see that because it was before we got to see into their lives.
"Better get some corticosteroids to treat that laryngeal fracture" To quote raymond, "each sentence rife with information". No wonder they are made for each other.
Things I look the most forward to in each season: - Kevin - Doug Judy - Holt & Kevin being everyone's dads - Gina (Please, I'd do anything for a guest appearance) - Cheddar - K e v i n
I’m gonna be honest, when I first heard about Kevin, I thought it was going to be an “opposites attract” type of thing where Kevin would he very joyful and eccentric to Holt’s deadpan and seriousness. But after watching the entire show I really love them both, they’re both so similar and are so funny at times, and just go so well together. I can’t imagine Kevin as anything but how he is now.
If you want some opposite fun you should listen to Sparks Nevada, Marshall on Mars. Kevin's actor plays Spark Nevada and they are... extremely dissimilar characters.
They are adorable. I really like opposites attract but I just have a special connection with "the two who get each other so perfectly, they don't need anybody else to do so" because it is the relationship I really would love to be in
It's a real name you know. William McGonagall, whom the character was named after is generally regarded as the worst poet in British history. I've read his poems, they aren't wrong.
@@ryanrayner610 what's the joke behind that "wetter brain" quote? Is it some Kevin's quotes from some classical book i don't know or high level English expression i'm too foreign to understand? Or it is what i think it is?
@@CaptainV0dka if I recall correctly in that episode there is a conversation with Peralta (dont remember if it is with Kevin or Ray) where Peralta state his brain is hard. Wich the other say that stupid, a brain shouldn be hard, it should be soft and wet. This is mentioned through the episode, so it is just a builded up joke.
@@fele09 it is a conversation with Ray and holt tells him that his brain should not be hard but jake tells him that sounds cool. However later when Raymond creates a kerfuffle he says he has a hard brain to sound cool but then everyone else just makes fun of Ray.
@@zed3755 she means renew their vows and have a proper ceremony, bc when they first got married they were worried that gay marriage wouldn't be legal for very long so they had a quick ceremony without family and friends and a few witnesses. They were talking about it before
"hello kevin it's me raymond holt" why did he introduce himself like that?😭😂 edit: i know that's his pet name my original comment was more like a rhetorical question cause i always find it funny😂
Brooklyn 99 has this weird ability to make every single character your favorite character and I honestly don't know how they do it. Thus, Kevin is my favorite character.
And i am here "pointing" the fact that in the Peralta-Kevin classroom scece at 7:21 the chalkboard has sayings in modern greek, translated from ancient greek . Quotes from The Oresteia (trilogy of ancient greek tragedies, 458 BC ) : Agamemnon, The Choephoroi/Libation Bearers and The Eumenides , by Aeschylus 524/3 -456/5 BC . 7:22 top one translates "Neither the life of anarchy nor the life enslaved by tyrants, no, worship neither" -Furies, female chthonic deities of vengeance and retribution - from "Eumenides" (the third part of Aeschylus' Greek tragedy) 7:22 bottom one translates "Enforce balance to everything for everything (everything's sake) and god will give you strength" -Athena, goddess of wisdom, handicraft and warfare - ((cant trace back the specific part of Oresteia)) 7:35 the one to the left of Peralta translates "nothing forces us to acknowledge/know what we dont want to acknowledge/know , except pain " -Clytemnestra, wife of Agamemnon, mother of Orestes (and others) - from "Agamemnon" (the first part of Aeschylus' Greek tragedy) Awesome detail ! I am not fun at parties!
they showed it it was literally them speeding through the vows and declaring 'WE'RE MARRIED' because they were scared that gay marriage would be re-illegalised any moment
@@Riggy1991 yeah i know, but in 1:21 they talk about getting re married in a more "festive" way, and after that they never did it! That's the wedding that i'm talking about!😂
The 'Laser Pointer' scene shows just how much Jake and Kevin's relationship has improved since they first met. Absolutely love the "Take it for a spin" line.
B99 has truly achieved relationship development and portrayal with real and addecuate interaction. We have a gay marriage that is the opposite of how many portray a gay relationship. We have Jake and Amy's relationship, that developed over time with its ups and downs. We have Boyle and Rosa's relationship (that I mentioned in another video), and we have Terry's marriage. We also have Hitchcock and Scully, and even Gina! This show gives us characters who grow, who learn, who make mistakes and who do better for themselves. Many of us look at Holt and Kevin as relationship goals, they both overcome hardship together, and they fight, they yell, and they laugh. At the end of the day, they still love each other and care a lot for their children (Cheddar, and the squad). Thank you, B99 crew, for giving us this gem.
absolutely! love the show for not creating disposable secondary characters. be it sharon and girls, kevin, bill or even boyle's cousins. the exception being everyone's parents.
Captain Holt: Why would you? Dirt bag is the most useful part of vacuum cleaner. Clearly it would be a compliment. Also Captain holt during brooklyn broiler: YoU fLaMeD oUt DiRtBaG.
He also uses 'ya' instead of 'you' in the third chapter when he hates contractions (I believe he complains about this one in particular in another episode but I don't remember)
@@GlenHovindOfficial thats a discrepancy. he once said his tell is contractions, another time it is mentioned as tensing of the face or some such thing, in the earlier episodes. the contractions were used as a tell only for that one episode.
Nahh that was a bad adaptation anyway. He Probably watched it already and the reason why he "purged" nic cage in his mind yet the rock quote was still in there.
I always forget about Jake's iconic " y'all are hella specific " quote, so every time I hear it again, I laugh just as loud in cheek aching laughter 😂😂💀
Kevin singlehandedly took down Seamus Murphy, I don't see why he need "protection". More like it is to protect the crimelord so that Kevin won't go for killing spree.
Kevin needed protection, because the murphies are a crime family and they have killed many. Here there was only one other guy at the warehouse and kevin had the element of surprise
I just want to appreciate the casting director for casting raymond and kevin. Who would knew these two will became our dad and has one of the greatest chemistry in the show!
ok but the scene in Kevin's classroom proves how far Kevin and Jake have come, how well Kevin knows and is fond of Jake, and has pretty much accepted Raymond Holt's adopted son as his own...
