@Jim Dandy @Jim Dandy The short of it, if you wanna start longboarding buy a board! If you're unsure what to get, RU-vid is your friend and any questions you have can be answered with a quick search such as "what longboats do I buy?" There's plenty of info out there, but if you want to do slides the specific term for that kinda riding is called "freeride longboarding." I'd recommend getting a good size board, around 38" long and you can mix and match parts on it as you get used to it. However, as with anyone else, if you pick up the hobby take it easy, just get used to being comfortable on a board and cruise back and forth from the shops, even without the gnarly slides and speed it can be very fun.

It’s actually not that bad if you wipe out while your center of gravity is already low to the ground. And the camera being lower gives the illusion they’re going much faster than they actually are.

Just keep on trying. I remember i didnt want to bomb any hills, i was challenged to do a hill for $20 and did it. Holy shit i loved it. Just go do a nearby hill whit a few friends. Wear protection especially helmets.

Pretty simple once you know how your board feels on the rain. Just screws up your deck but rain is fun. Sometimes you do get out of control tho

I started speedwobling too but was some how able to control it until i was at the bottom. No safety or anything, wouldnt recommend. That was the dumbest shit i have ever done. But hey i got some MAD respect at least
