💫🖤💜Absolutely!!! One's "Love~Seat with LORN" dropping Us into thee Darkest descents ov Our Souls or into an unending abyss... yet swapping out initial & irrational fears with hey, this isn't so bad bcuz via LORN, others, & Introspections, We may Recognize We've been here before & therefore nestle into Our comfy spot, waving hellos & goodbyes to previously known unknowns 💜🖤💫 ....My long time FAVORITE🤗BEing, "Acid Rain"♾
Ok then, it's not just me. I listened to the gun on repeat when photoshooting a depressed 50's housewife contemplating suicide. It really brings it to the surface of depression if you let it
A buddy and I were working on wood sculptures one day while lorn was on in the background. The vibe was so chill we didn't say a word to each other for an hour.
Lorn's music... brings my soul out of hiding deep inside my ribcage... it also delivers a new sadness to it, but it's an accepting sorrow.. resignation; familiarity with the pain and quiet desperation that some of us know so well in this life, that it offers comfort. We can make peace with our finality.. and learn to live with hurt, until we love it.
Kudos to you. I feel that many people stick to what they knew from their youth, as they age. I'm about 18 yrs off from where you are, but I see myself being the same. Check out Four Tet, Bonobo, Amon Tobin, Boards of Canada and Clams Casino if you dig this stuff, and haven't already. You are bound to find some songs you like, in my estimation. Happy hunting!
Lorn's a master of what I like to call incomplete harmony. Like, deep in the back of your mind you know there's notes missing from what your ear is transmitting into your brain; this sense of half-vacuousness wrapped in outstanding basslines and percussion elicits a wonderful sense of warm, blanketed melancholy.
ghosst(s) is outstanding for me. the begining is just so strong. I have a very strong memory of going for a walk and ending up in a more rural farming area (in Iowa) it had gone dark, I could barely see my own feet as I walked, I had to use my phone flashlight in order to not trip. It was windy, and my phone light would illuminate dead leaves and corn husks as they blew off of the fields and trees around me. It was cold, and the husks would sting if they hit me. I knew they were flying all around, because I could hear them, but I could only see them as they encroached into my little pool of light, or some of the street lights further ahead. It was spooky, I was into it, enjoying the atmosphere when a train started to go by. I don't know where that train was, I don't know where the tracks were, but it couldn't have been far. faint sounds of the wheels rumbling and of a massive machine fucking booking it. A sound you felt in your feet more than heard with your ears. Then the train horn sounded, and It echoed and reverberated of off every treeline, house, and ditch. I could almost see it rippling back and forth across the pitch black fields. It sounded like the train was both moving away from me and getting closer. It sounded like what it was, a massive inorganic machine screaming out in an unignorable warning siren of it's presence. It made the fields feel like the hunting grounds of an unfathomable beast. it was unearthly, felt evil in that chilly October night, and I relive that memory every time I hear ghosst(s). awesome song, the train horn and double bass that just draaagggs those low notes out send chills down my spine every time. love it.
Lorn is just one of those artists that sounds better at night. I had a similar experience last year on a night walk. There wasn’t a train but I just looked up at the gnarled branches above me (no leaves at the time) listening to HEX. It was really unforgettable.
@Ohma Tokita Who? Marcos Ortega. And to yourself as well my own dismay, there isn't a single album or CD available, anywhere. However. I've been told some of his music can be downloaded or purchased from the internet. Good luck with that.
I wish i could go back to the time when i first heard lorn. And all of these songs, feels like forever ago, yet somehow like it only happened yesterday in a dream
I've read people calling this witchhouse but there's no way. If you jump from listening to witchhouse over to this right after... you can feel the difference. This is so deep and complex with uplifting notes and layers. I love it.
@@christopherdiedrich40 I can KINDA see that :-) I think more like Binary Universe BT when I think glitch but I'm kind of new to guessing genres. I just listen lol
can't even imagine how it must feel. can't wait to try it out sometimes. lorn isn't just music, i feel like it is on a similar wavelenght as m and fits just perfectly. Not in every aspect but very similar. Gotta try it out though first. Love and congrats
@@eXquisiteNoise Keep in mind what that stuff really is though. I've seen my friend in a bad way from mixing it with alcohol. I wouldnt touch it. I don't look down on people who like it but I do worry for them. Stay safe
@@hueytoo1058 I appreciate your concerns, thanks. Though, my wild times are long gone but I had them. The positives overweight the negatives by far and it's probably one of the safest drugs in comparison, even though there are some downsides and risks ofc. Used responsibly you can have truly lifechanging experiences, especially with your loved ones. There is a reason why it is used in family therapy sessions etc. And yes, mixing it with too much alcohol or mixing drugs in general is not the best idea
I've never heard anyone in this genre giving off so much power in a single track - let alone a whole mix - like this dude. I barely remember artists' names and tracks and stuff (really bad at that) while listening to basically everything from all genres, but I remembered Lorn and my favs since I first discovered his music. Jesus I kinda want to do everything in the world and die at the same time, awesome style. ACid rain - please play this shit at my death/funeral/forever thank you.
Invest in quality sound system and headphones otherwise you don't know what you are missing. My system has really good range in my car and lorn sometimes makes it feel like your hitting a dimensional shift in space time.. hearing and feeling the music is a big difference. It's amazing
I used to play lorn in the bg while playing don’t starve w a friend. The vibe of lorn fits so perfectly with that game. He moved away so it hits extra hard hearing this stuff.
you know I have no memory of listening to this mix before much less reading the comments, yet I scroll down and see that some time before, I liked this comment. It was the most errie feeling, like there was a part of me that I forgot who came here once.
I just met this girl about 3 hours into the New Year. She is so fine, maybe one of the flyest. Tomorrow night Im gonna get with her for the 1st time. This is what will be playing. Play this for everyone you meet.
Thank you for your interest in my love life. She had nvr heard Lorn b4. We had nvr been alone together. It was a truly stellar nite. The music of Lorn is perfect for pressing your flesh against that certain someone. Ty Lorn.
Alrighty.....I have entered a wormhole. Acid Rain brought me here. I have not ever heard of Lorn but today I will learn who they/he/she/whomever they are.
5.6g 🍄 trip last weekend and this played twice , and while I was peaking the celling turned to snake skin and it was flowing like a river , and the patterns were glowing and shining but lorn is always part of my trips🔥🍄😛 ❤❤❤😛🍄🔥
Okay so rewatching this vid sober confirms what I couldn't figure out for certain during my last LSD trip: The picture is STILL, unmoving, and definitely NOT a constantly subtly shifting amorphous sculpture of indescribable complexity which irresistibly calls out to the human spirit and mind equally. Glad to have that settled... good... uh... yeah
Beautiful day it is today ! Sitting back Cleaning up my apartment listening to these sounds from Lorn. Trippy but progressive. Tracy Sharble Birmingham ALA
5g cubensis trip listen to this twice , during conduit the 2nd playthrough my celling turned into a bio illuminate snake skin that flowed like a river , as I watched it flow the song coursed through my body and I smiled ear to ear , I shouldn't be this happy 😀 one of the best trips
