I Love Crow, and if snyone doesn't yet know, MST3K's BACK, and it's REALLY good, with Jonah on the SoL, and Joel H is at the helm. But, back Crow; his ode to Estell Winwood's sheer musical poetry (25:59). Estelle - she's SWELL! She's cute - She's rooty-toot-toot I bet she smells like Juicy Fruit...
Though Bill Corbett was slow in developing Crow; which started for him at the opening of season 8 when MST3K debuted on the SyFy Channel; he then finds that 'sweet-spot' which brings an all-encompassing harmony to the whole of the show through his many roles. Trace Beaulieu was great but Bill superseded him in so many ways. Once comfortable with his role, he out-performed Trace by his puppetry alone - more dynamic articulation in his deliveries which seemingly brought the puppet to life where Trace performances were more static. Then there are his many supporting roles which were superb. He is the premiere commentator for all of RiffTrax bar none. Kevin Murphy took-off as well during the SyFy years. His puppetry of Servo changed dramatically where in very articulate in his deliverances of lines no matter the role. Which I'm sure he had a hand in: in that he was a writer and the director for the show. His role as Professor Bobo was classic and probably had something to do with his noble lineage - "I am Professor Bobo, a Mountain Gorilla, the son of Koko and heir to the lineage of Godo, Bogro and Chim Chim."
wcharliewilson When Bill took over as Crow he allegedly couldn't operate him as well initially and said the reason Crow moved less was because he had a stroke. Lol
Yeah, you're right Evonne. I too have 'The History of MST3K' as well in my video files. Along with every episode, all the specials and the Movie. I have over 200 RiffTrax to boot!
A good Bill on Crow skit was during 'Quest Of The Delta Knights' where Bill portrays a Space-Wandering 'Leo de Vinci' and is annoyed by a questioning Crow. "Crow? Crow is it? What kinda' name is Crow?"
Jealous of your collection! But I remene4 the De Vinci sketch a bit differently. Didn't he say he liked Crow's name and got on Servo for asking how he was still alive or something? Lol
