@@Dr1ftop1a Ya plenty of NA cars have 500 or more horsepower these days. The first 500 hp car NA production model car was probably the shelby cobra back in 1965, and since the Mclaren F1 came out there has probably been oh Idk at least a few hundred production model cars that have hit 500hp or more...what is more fascinating then simply putting more power into an engine is making it able to be driveable. I mean theoretically someone could strap a rocket engine to a crudge piece of metal with a seat on it and 4 wheels and it would have the most horsepower- something like 40 million hp-but it isnt usable. What is important and fascinating is the design and engineering that goes into making the components that surround the engine able to support that kind of horse power. Saying something has x amount of horsepower is cool if you dont know much about cars or are a little kid, but as we get older and develop a true appreciation for automotive sports we will be much more interested in the engineering that goes into the actual design aspects of the vehicles

Spending and risking a porsche doesn't make you win. Putting that money towards making an awesome lesser production car would be money better spent. I have a neighbor who races on a track, he and a bunch of other rich dudes team up to race a porsche that comesfrom the factory stripped for racing. For what he spends to be part of a team yearly, I could buy an older WRX, or some other allwheel drive and trick it out for racing. If I crashed it, replacing the frame and body parts would be way cheaper than trying to replace the same things on a porsche.

@@schallis Yes, if you're talking about the GT3 race car, which is standard in motorsports.. As far as road cars, that's just a stupid myth. Open up autotrader or any car marketplace, you'll see lots of 120k+ miles Porsches still in good condition. Hell, here in Europe old 996 and 930-gen 911s with 200k+ miles still hold their value. Tell me, which other sports car is there that can say the same?
