Here's my movie pitch...guy gets wrongly convicted of a crime he didn't commit, is sent to a prison on an island. He writes notes and letters with his family and daughter back home to help while in prison. A new guy starts work at the prison and every day he tries to make friends with the inmates because he believes the inmates are good people who made bad mistakes and this new guy finds out that this guy was wrongly convicted. The new police guy eventually tries to get the man freed from prison but the legal system is corrupt and racist so they don't let him go free. Eventually the black guy who was wrongly convicted escapes prison because the new police guard decides to help him and leave the doors unlocked and let him escape, but the black guy can't swim and while trying to swim across the water he almost drowns but is washed ashore by a strong current and the waves. A guy finds this man washed on the beach unconscious and tries to save him, when the black guy wakes up he finds out the guy that saved him is actually one of the best lawyers in the world and basically he becomes friends with the escaped prisoner finds out he was wrongly convicted then he gathers as much evidence as he can eventually uncovering the truth and he is able to get the black guy free again and they find the real culprit. So this lawyer saved his life and helped him be found innocent and he also managed to help a few other black guys wrongly convicted get free from prison too. He also helped the police officer who helped him escape get away without charges. So in the end everyone wins and the story ends with the guy seeing his daughter again and hugging his family
I went to school with a guy like Eli his name was Mark at first I used to think it was so wrong how they used to Hype him up to rap and he really wasn't saying anything about your mumbling and just grunting and stuff but then I seen they were doing it to make him feel accepted
It's only started showing at ungodly hours in the morning in Australia, but I love it. Even though I'm a soon to be 60, single, Insomniac. Probably ideal demographic
I have so much respect to tosh and eil that he wants to buy a house and build a foundation for people that are suffering from a horrible disease to help them and a house with a bunch of females good deeds and a reward
True story: I grew up in LA and one day my dad, me, and my brothers were swimming in the backyard. Our neighbor, who was a sweet old black lady, came banging on our front door screaming saying her son is drowning. My dad went over immediately and there was a 32 year old black guy floating at the bottom of the pool. My dad pulled him out and went to give mouth to mouth but a bunch of white foam came out. He had been down there for over an hour. There was sticks, a pool skimmer, and a bunch of bricks in the pool from the mom throwing stuff at him and trying to fish him out. Nobody could go in and get him because nobody in the family could swim. And they had a pool. And this guy went in it. And died. Ambulance came, but he was gone. I think I was 7, but that’s what made me aware of that stereotype.
