I will never forget when these came out as a kid and I begged my dad for one for Christmas! It was so new that when people seen me riding it they always asked “what is that!?”. I had already been riding a skateboard for a few years so I picked it up fairly easy. The beauty of a ripstik is that you get the feel of a surf board and a snow board when riding. Hills are so fun just carving in and out is just so relaxing. Now I’m almost 30 with 2 kids and just bought a ripstik at a yard sale for 50¢ lol. My kids are so salty because I can ride it like a pro and they are still learning😂 Ripstik sums up my childhood really. The age of emerging technology yet things still required some effort and sweat. Now these kids just cruise on electric boards if they can get away from the internet long enough. Ya know, avoiding anything that requires any type of manual labor lmao
Yo! I feel that! I basically introduce the ripstik into my hood here in Venezuela and ppl was like: wtf?? Then like 1 month later they were in the market and I already knew what to do and all, good times :)
No lie. At first I thought it was also very easy to ride, then i got one and it was hard! Once i learned it felt as it got more smoother like a surf board.
I have respect for these dudes the only ones in the skating community to give the ripstik a chance and actually put in work to pull off these tricks kudos
"If there's anything that skateboarders didn't do enough, it's break their bones. Lets reduce the number of wheels to 2, make them swivel , and make the whole thing wobble in the middle!" - inventor of ripstick Next thing they will make the griptape out of smooth teflon and replace the wheels with balls that roll in any direction.
mrkiky athe initial learning curve is much steeper for a ripstik, but it ends up being a lot safer than a. Skateboard. You can't really have the ripstik fly out from under you, which is what often causes injuries on skateboards. The ripstik just tips over as soon as you loose balance.
I can't even get on the ripstick once I'm on I can go forever but you guys can run and get on.Geez it takes me a minute to get on while holding something.
Mikayla Bijlhout watch a video on mounting then practice while holding on to things and you will eventually get it. It took me about 10 or 15 tries before I was confident with getting on without things to hold onto
Well not really. Skating would be considered easy because of easy balance, but casterboarding is way easier because it's easier to turn and requires little effort to keep it going. It all depends on the person. If you got a caster board and just tried to ride it for a couple of hours straight, you will find that it is easier than a skateboard.
+BlaconandBiscuits skateboarding is easier bottom line, anything you wanna learn on the ripstik learn it on a skateboard first, because the skateboard has 4 wheels it acts as training wheels for anything you may want to learn on the ripstik.
Seems the dipstick focuses on precision with the wheels over all else. Threading the needle is the name of the game. Riding over and through terrain smoothly
I learned how to ride at 9 from a friends ripstik and I finally bought one 2 years ago but i don’t know any tricks yet, i bought one just to travel around. It’s really scary when you’re trying to stop from speeding on a hill so I’m currently working on that.
anybody else ready for that UnoBoardStick 2020? Lol The ultimate balancing while skating, super unseen holy tricks, dare devil death board on a wheel. The UnoBoardStick 2020
Commander Hooligan I'll give it to you but I think ripstik because if you learn to ride a skatepark you would be the center of everything it's not that common
Just goes to show anything’s awesome with the right person riding it, having said that........... I’d pick a skateboard 99 Times out of ten for most of these tricks, still cool and unique
Music was good. They're not on Spotify though. I was able to find one song from Tone Tuoro, though......... great vibe. Good compilation. Skills out there. Ripstickin should blow up. It's dope
reminds me of scooter when I see it now. I went to a skateshop 9 years ago to buy a Ripstik. The guy said they dont have it and that they dont wanna sell it. Then I just bought a normal skateboard. Loving it since day one :)
i realized most people in this video are left footed on the board i personally can ride with both but my right is more dominate is it unusual to ride right footed or no ??
excuse me its rude to call someone stupid you shouldn't do that plus it was just something i picked up on and i no it doesn't matter what way you ride it was just unusual to me cause where i live it is very uncommon can u please be nicer online cause someday all this negative behavior will catch up with you and you will realize attacking people online is wrong
PLEASEEE someone tell me how that guy slowed down on that hill at the end he was coming up to a red light and traffic so he had to stop somehow.... I wanna ride hills too but I don't know the best way to keep the speed down...
raymark if so how many tricks can you do on it other than riding around? skateboards can spin flip and Ollie higher than a ripstik also is there any SLR? or street league ripstiking? no
