I think he is telling on himself as a child and maybe still today, he is just too good at this.

It comes from being a keen observer of both humans and animals and having the wit to give the animals the perfect human characterizations and the talent to do the voices. And we can't get enough! Funny, silly, heartwarming and ridiculous!

Because stupid is funny. Silly makes us forget our misery for a minute. Why having a sense of humor is such a vital trait as a human. We need the whimsy to keep our minds and souls healthy. You know people without much sense of humor. Dull as dirt. Not sure they are capable of joy. Wow. That's a sad thought. No wonder they hate happy, loving people so much.
