The "zipper merge" was complete BS since about a mile back is a sign that says MERGE NOW. It's why there is a long line of traffic. It doesn't say to pass everyone up because you think you're some entitled narcissist who doesn't have to merge like everyone has.

There is no such thing as a "merge now" sign. That's what they use cones for. He merged when they wanted him to. It's your decision to wait in a made-up line when there was an open lane.

This clip was just fishing for a way to blame a pick-up. Three idiots swerving across 4 lanes of traffic, truck goes to pass, is cut off, so throttles (causing engine to rev, oh how could he?!) to get past. Correct: yes Zipper merges are what you're supposed to do in that situation. When everybody piles into one lane, that's how traffic jams (much like the one in the video) happen. If people are going to get into line that early, that's their problem. It's very unwise and doesn't waive them from having to yield to the people at the merge point in the other lane. If they're going to block people in the other lane just because they're butthurt that they used the zipper merge correctly, not only are THEY being douches but they're also causing traffic jams that affect everyone. The point of the zipper merge is to keep traffic moving smoothly. The cammer, however, did go way too far and attempt to bully their way over. Had they stopped at the merge point and indicated until someone yields, there would have been no problem.

Yes apparently it is faster for everyone but everyone needs to be doing it to be effective right? When no one is doing it, the only person benefiting is the person passing everyone. #2 Where I live it's up to a $1,000 fine for impeding faster traffic in the left lane. Also, the speed limit is not a factor in the law. If the speed limit is 70 mph and you're doing 80 mph in the left lane, if someone behind you is doing 95 mph, you're required to move over.

Same in pretty much every state. It's a traffic safety thing. There started being way too many fatal accidents caused by tools on the road who thought they were traffic police who would see someone coming up behind them in the passing lane and suddenly cut over in front of the faster driver to try to force them to slow down. Here in FL we will write you a reckless driving citation if you are caught doing it.

I’m a trucker so this happens to me everyday. For some reason nobody knows that you have to yield to traffic already on the highway. Not easy moving a triple set for some idiot not looking

Same.. Normally I'm in the slow lane when not passing, but if its a 3 lane highway I just stay in the middle lane if there's a lot of merges because I don't feel like dealing with idiots who can't properly merge. also if i have to brake hard it takes me a while to reach 65 mph again

Even worse are the ones who I've seen trying to claim that traffic already on the highway should be yielding to merging traffic ("just slow down and let them in bruh"). They can't seem to comprehend that the whole point of highways is that they allow traffic to flow at a constant high speed and that making highway traffic slow to allow traffic to merge defeats their entire purpose, not to mention that the risk of serious accidents skyrockets if the highway traffic is forced to yield to merging traffic.

31:11 I work in the auto industry - and the #1 thing people say they "don't need" is tires when they're driving around on 1/32's and think it's no big deal. If your life, the life of the people in your car, or the people around you aren't worth a few hundred bucks for new rubber, then you deserve to get your license taken away and you locked away as a danger to society

Had a family member work a couple of years in a tire store. 5% of the drivers were like that. Just accidents waiting to happen. And it’s not like they just have bald tires. They also have bad alignment that exacerbates the bad tire situation, and half the time worn out shocks that make it even worse. I understand if someone is barely scrapping by. But many people who act that way drive expensive cars. If you have an expensive car and can’t afford basics like tires and alignment at least, truth is you can’t afford the car.

From watching body cam footage of traffic stops, I can say that most people are SO lacking in self awareness that they rarely even realize that they hit something. If you've got a dashcam and know their license plate, and especially if the police have told you to stop pursuing them, just stop. The person is probably some old person who's terrified of your honking and your likely to make them cause another accident in the confusion lol.

Constantly in a rush for no reason and complete disregard for anyone else's safety or life. I'm 80k lbs and I have people cutting me off at 65mph with less than a car length every 3 to 5 min when driving through Texas. They didn't say anything bad about the state as well, they just insinuated the drivers suck.

The people with the dash cams really do act like children, I won't lie in high school I had pretty bad road rage but then I grew up and realized it's really just exhausting getting mad at every asshole on the road because there's always a bunch of them so might as well let it go, and there's no point in road raging because that's how you cause an accident and it won't fix anything anyway because you can't argue with a fool
