How I ended up here I don’t know, BUT I am dominican and listening to this I hear so many similarities to our bachata and merengue music which makes me believe our music is derived from Edo. Also grateful because it just sounds so beautiful 😭

Correction: Your language is not Benin. Your language is EDO. The Edo people who are often colloquially referred to as Bini, speaks Edo language, NOT Benin. The state was named after the EDO people of the defunct Bendel State in 1991, after Bendel state was divided into two--Edo and Delta states. Edo has always been the language of Edo or Bini people of Edo state. Benin is the capital city. The majority of Edo state people speaks Edo language. Languages spoken in Edo state are: Edo, Esan, Ora, Afemai etc. Benin is a city and not a language. KNOW YOUR HISTORY, Edo is your language.
