No,that's the idea that sounds the most logical by people on RU-vid.Activation up and down is a better attention-getting technique if the rig is coming from a distance in a wide open area,with ambient noises. And ain't no motor burning out. This siren was new on the last rig back in March 1993 and I put it on this 2011 rig, still screaming at it's peak to almost all of it's calls.Matter of fact,I peaked it twice today and it's just getting back from screaming to a auto wreck!
This rig has got to be the most bad ass I've ever seen and highly effective at pushing through traffic. The rigs here in Edmonton, Canada only have powercall/hi-lo/wail computerized sirens and regular rig horns. They are not loud enough to get idiot drivers to move the hell out of the way. We should look at getting train horns and Federal Q installed on the engines up here.
This is true! I actually have 2 air horns sets ...Grover stuttertones and Nathan K5LA ,3 sirens ..the mechanical Q, PA 300, and a Sho Me Powercall all installed on this Rescue.

Oh,no doubt I'm going to do what I like.That fact is obviously known about the clutch and power pull being a problem.Pulling power is not an issue here though.The rig is built to pull big power.It's not a 1962 built electrical system..so juice is NOT a concern.And if the clutch is going to go....after 19 1/2 years of peaking,so be it.

I find that people who brag about how many calls they run are just trying to show how important they think they are. If you can keep count you are not that busy. We don't even count our calls anymore, we just show up and do the damn thing. Stop hating on "volleys"...
