When you described the process and how tiring it was, I laughed. I had just told my Facebook friends I didn't enjoy baking cookies because it was boring after the first batch. My friend told me she puts the batter in a pan and cuts them into bars. You are a treasure! I'm living alone in northern Illinois.

I' know this is an older recording but I had to watch. I love it! I'm 68 and my mom taught me how to make Oatmeal cookies when I was around 8 years old. I could read recipe books by then. We had no measuring cups or spoons because mom never used them. So I used to eyeball a teacup for the right measurements. Same with spoons. We had to use lard half the time for the fats with butter. They were wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing your recipe! I'll have the try using the buttermilk!

Helen, I was just able to watch your cooking video. You are such a blessing to me. I love watching your videos. My mom is 82 also but has Diabetes and Vascular Dementia. I live across from her to help take care of her. My husband has been battling cancer and loves when I make him sweets. I will have to bake him and my mom some of your cookies, I know they will love them, (I' ll use a artical sweeter for Mom). You made me laugh and you sure do put a smile in my heart with all your blessings and videos. I can't thank you enough for your videos that help me through these stressful days trying to keep my loved ones safe and healthy. You are truly a blessing. You are so special. I have been feeling absolutely awful just learned two days ago that a lady who was very, very special died. I live in a building and she lived in one of the apartments with her 3 kids and husband, happily married. Her sisters came to visit and they all decided to go back for a visit to Zimbabwe. Whilst there they were involved in a terrible accident. She had to have an op on her back which seemed to be going well and then she got water on her lungs and died. So it Is so relaxing watching you when I am feeling so distraught. You are comforting and relaxing to watch. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas

Her name was Bertha Maxine (Cox...maiden name) Redding. Are you related to them? I swear she is your twin!!! She resembles you so much....even your mannerisms and the way you use your hands. She was so sweet. Her dad was Edward Cox and her mom was Bertha Cox (Vineyard....maiden). I know that her dad was in the South...in the 20-30s . I don't remember where. Thank you for sharing your baking skills... :) If you buy dollar tree disposable aluminum cookie sheets when making cookies.. you can take out two pans and put two pans right back in the oven... instead of waiting for them to cool and using same pans... Costs a couple bucks extra but it's the waiting in between that wears a person out LOL... As today is Christmas Day I hope you and your family had an enjoyable day...Our state has gone backwards as far as far as covid guidelines.. 10 person limit inside/25 outside... People aren't happy but we have to stop this virus from spreading... It's only my youngest son and myself here.... but there is a plus to it... Less to clean up.. :) Weatherwise we have a 60 degree day and rain... Not bad for Massachusetts in the winter :) Last week we had 15 1/2 ' of snow.. today 2-3" of rain... and all the snow has vanished :) I'm to old for a white Christmas LOL... Hi there Helen it is good to see you whipping up a BIG batch of cookies in your kitchen You stay safe down there in Georgia, we are trying our best up here in Mass. to do the same. Merry Christmas to you and your family you do very well for someone your age, better than I do and I am one year behind you. We all take our time and take one day at a time don't we.

When I cook cookies, I do it on parchment paper then I can just slide the 1st batch off the pan and have the 2nd batch ready to slide on & pop in the oven. After the 1st batch cools a little, I take them off the paper and reload the paper with a the 3rd batch
