Thanks for this; I was keen on the dollar store pegboard idea but am really fastidious about cost and availability. My bf is building me a bookcase structure that has the MDF hardware store pegboard on the interior back.. I thought about cutting it down to make smaller work area storage, like 30 cm by 30 cm small, but that stuff is pretty hefty compared to plastic versions. I wound up going with a kit of four plastic pegboards that will fit on the side of a stand in my art studio, plus a big set of accessories. I think they are Skada Ikea style holes, that's okay by me because I also have access to 3D printing, and thingiverse has a bunch of Ikea accessories.
This is a great video! I appreciate the way you introduced each pegboard accessory and talked about its purpose. I literally had the same Dollar Tree pegboard system in my cart today, and put it all back because I wasn’t sure how I wanted to install it. Then I saw your video this evening; now I’m confident that I can set my own pegboard organizer! Thank you so much!
I think it might be cheaper to go with the hardware store if you want a big pegboard bc theyre only $16 at lowes but if just want a little pegboard it might be easier at DT. I just imagine myself sawing off my fingers trying to cut down the 48x24 pegboard from Lowes haha!
Thanks Rebecca. I must say I have the mdf from Home Depot and it’s not as pretty even after painting it. And after using it, the holes wear. I think I’d go for a metal one , but then that’s going to cost more. Guess it depends on what you are using it for and amount you have to spend.
So true Jane Leslie, I never thought of how the mdd pegboards would look after they were painted! Since I only need a small pegboard I thought the DT ones worked perfectly!
I can’t say that these make much sense to me!! One large 4x8 foot pegboard at out Lowe’s is $12 and the thin boards to frame it out from the wall would make the whole project under $20 and very very sturdy! I think I will pass!
ooo that sounds like a great deal! Dollar Tree definitely isnt always the cheapest! I wanted to try out the DT pegbpards for others to decide if its worth it or not and I love that you have done your research!
@@RebeccaVirginiaDIY sadly I don’t think they fit! I loved DT accessories too, especially the metal hooks. I need that to hang tools like heat gun/hairdryer and such. Thanks for trying this for us!!😊💕
