Yes, team fast talker here too, I love it too. My adhd can’t handle anything too rambly or else I just tune out. So I LOVE your videos. I also LOVE the IKEA Krokholmen table too, I just can never find it in stock and Ikea doesn’t ship to me. One of the few mesh top patio tables that isn’t super expensive and drains all the water out if it rains. 😫
This post is about style (the look), which is exciting, but make sure you see these products in person and, especially, SIT in them (as much as is possible). As someone who sold high-end patio furniture for a number of years, there are some things to consider. Do the cushions have a good quality outdoor fabric i.e. Sunbrella that can be remove (zippered) and washed in your machine? (You can also use bleach on ANY colour of batch-dyed acrylic fabric - Sunbrella). Do the cushions have quality foam? Rattan furniture is stylish but if rattan is not covered outdoors, it will degrade with moisture and rain. Did you know teak turns silver/grey? Some people don't mind that - others really dislike it. (Also, teak will grow mold if breathable furniture covers are not used). Some furniture is too shallow in the seat and some are really deep. There are dining chairs that can dig into your legs and have a back rail that hits your back in the wrong spot. SO, always try to experience furniture in person (if you can) and ask questions. You'll save a lot of money and hassle.

Great idea! I think an outdoor sofa would be a stretch but if you have the space, some of these cute outdoor chairs with a nice rug and some layered lighting and you are set!

I don't have a patio but looking at all this amazing outdoor furniture makes me want to build one. Once the weather is nice, I'm out more than in so I would thoroughly enjoy setting up an awesome sitting area outside. String lights, candles, palms, oh yeah!
Nick always spins me off in so many directions. I started my day with this video and have since ordered some string lights and am now getting ready to go browse outdoor rugs at my local retailers. It's always a coup to find a RU-vidr who has such great style and decor suggestions. But, I think just as important is enjoying the personality of the individual. Nick nails it on both counts. :-)
This was great. Nice variety of decor styles. The challenge in the Vancouver climate is figuring out what pieces can actually withstand our wet winters. I assume most of the wood pieces would not survive very long.

Love this, and I’m so tempted by that couch w the armrests. I have a gorgeous atrium and a roof terrace to decorate the upcoming year, so an interesting topic. I would appreciate something on the issue with weather - too much rain means rushing cushions in and out, rugs will either go moldy or stain a wooddeck, electricals are sketchy and so on. Edit: also, patio furniture that looks good but can still be packed away for the winter
My husband and I are closing on a house on Friday and we were just discussing doing up the outdoor space first so we could enjoy it all summer. I do not know how you do it but everytime I need a video there it is! Definitely going to check out some of these this weekend and see what I can find

I personally love to layer different textures in pillows and I love to play with colour - especially repeating a colour that's already in the room. Also feel free to mix up with the season!

Hello Nick, I enjoy your videos and love the quality of them. I think you should make a video on some of the most iconic furniture pieces over history.
Rain and sun - resistant furniture is key. The injection-moulded plastic chairs from IKEA come to mind. Spend $20 on a water pump, dropped into a simple bowl or better, trickling in the background, adds so much sophistication to the outdoor space, and brings an element of sound-dampening from surrounding unwanted noise. Outdoor rugs are over-rated and add more maintenance demands.
I think that West Elm glass candle holder will be stained black after just 1 use…rendering it impractical because no candle light will be seen, and unsightly because the glass will look like coal.
I wish I had room for all these ideas! LOVE your design choices. We have a back deck which is uncovered and then just grass with no patio in the back. Our front porch is quite small, but I'd like to try some different chairs with our bistro table. Thanks for this video! Cheers, enjoy your wine.

Hello Nick. Great info on outdoor furniture. I live in Seattle, and I guess pretty much the same weather patterns as in Vancouver. It rains a lot . Since you've had your CALLAIS Article furniture for maybe two years now. Could you please update on how your furniture pieces are faring? I don't have a covered patio so I'd have to leave them outside. How are the cushions faring? Since it's not the Sunbrella material, I curious to know how they've done with rains. Please let me know. I'm debating on either the CALLAIS from Article or OUTER furniture. Thanks again for doing this video.
