Good day, I am writing from Turkey. What do you think about these products when we compare them with the Photon Milestone series? I do not mean to harm any brand, but photon is one of the best-selling products here. What do you think about this product or when we compare it with other products in terms of price?
Dude. How do you not have more subs? I'll check your other videos, but do you have a recommendation for someone with a minivan? Don't really care about cost. Looking for good output, build quality. Ty for your reviews!
Thanks! There's so many variables to your question. It is not about the vehicle but the planned usage but budget, etc. Hard to answer but if you look at my spreadsheet at carlightreviews.com/headlightspecs that will help you make a decision on cost, value, brightness, etc.
@@CarLightReviews Ty for your response. Could you let me know what categories to focus on if I am interested in performance: distance and brightness? Have a good one!
Put your original lights back in and see if the problem goes away. If not, it is not an issue with the LED lights. Otherwise, I would suggest that you reach out to the manufacturer, they are usually happy top help.
Would you choose these or the auxito y19 that you reviewed which is better in your opinion? I have a ram 1500 with projectors headlamps and trying to find the best led bulb that will fit in the dust cover .
I just recently purchased theses I’m wondering if they have them in h9 though I know h11 is a low beam my h9 is a high beam h8 is much lower than h11 so it’s less bright
There appears to be a version 1 and 2 of these. 14000, and "upgraded" 18000lum. Do you know what version you tested? Maybe the new version has a quieter fan?
I have an questions, I have a 2022 Toyota Tacoma SR factory head light, bought at Amazon it’s Fahren Ursprung H11 LED Headlight Bulbs, 14000 Lumens 6500K. And I did follow any instructions on internet said 25 feets walls, four feet’s horizontal. After that many cars all piss off at me keep pull over and when I stop red light and cross another side by red light, this second times two different car’s headlight turn flashlight on me. And sometimes drive two opposite lanes keep flashlight on me too. People think my led light bulbs think it’s high beams. I’m very upset because I don’t want bother them or keep flashlights on me. I don’t get it! What I can to do?
Can you confirm that when you say "four feet horizontal" that you mean "four feet high off the ground"? If that is the case, that is likely the problem. When shining on a wall 25 feet away, you want the cutoff line to be a couple of inches lower than the same height of the bulb in your headlight assembly. Jason, thanks for all your hard work and dedication with both your channels. Your videos have always been extremely helpful. I am struggling between getting the Auxito Y13 or the GTR Ultra 2. I can afford the GTRs but I'm also not looking to spend money unnecessarily. What are your thoughts on when to go big and when to save the money? Really struggling with this choice.
Do you prefer budget over quality? If so...get the Y13...or the Fahren Forscher in this video. Do you prefer quality and warranty over budget? You get the idea. :)
@@CarLightReviews random question but to add on a bit, would you say the Auxito Y13 and Fahren are equal? The Auxito for example lists higher wattage and lumen then the Fahren, but not sure if that means it’s more “better” and “brighter”. Or are they really that close where you can go with whatever between the two?
@@roheat_ That's hard to answer because it depends on the definition of better. The published specs show one thing, but the actual output shows another, and it all depends on where you put the priority of what you need out of an LED upgrade. It might be easier for you to decide if you look at the spreadsheet that update with each video: carlightreviews.com/headlightspecs
@@CarLightReviews Thank you for the response! Quick question when comparing numbers on the spreadsheet: if the main goal is to find headlight that is bright (as in, you can see far down the road), would the lux numbers be the best measure for this? For example, the Fahren has 1472 lux versus the 1053 lux from the Auxito Y13, making the Fahren higher in lux. Would it therefore make it fair to say the Fahren is more brighter then the Auxito Y13? The temperature control seems to also give the edge to the Fahren but it is close. I appreciate all the details you put into these tests!
@@roheat_ Yup! The lux numbers are the measurement of brightness. But there's a tradeoff...the brighter the light, the better the heat management needs to be to keep that light output from reducing in a short amount of time. There's a lot of junk lights out there that are super bright...at first...because they are overdriven beyond the intended capabilities of the components, the heat takes a toll and the brightness diminishes quickly (sometimes lower than halogen) and the longevity is reduced. This is why I do the tests that I do...to separate the facts from the lies. Look at the light output over time as well as the temperature....they are the two key indicators of what light is best for you.
I've been using Fahren led lights for about 5 years now and I have personally never had a failure. Some Chrysler products have a headlamp feature that disables the head light or causes a flicker because of the low amperage and to fix that Fahren recommended me to install Xprite Antiflicker resistors and that fixed my issues. The setup in my 2013 Dodge has been working flawlessly since 2019 with the Fahren bulbs and Xprite resistors. I've since installed Fahren bulbs in a 2013 Fiat 500, 2006 Jeep Liberty, 2006 Jeep Commander, 2001 Dodge Neon and have not had any issues yet! I recommend anyone looking for a headlight upgrade to LED's to use Fahren. Yes they only come in 6500K but that's the brightest light color you would want for night driving. All the other colors at night are for just show as they don't help night vision. The Yellow bulb color, I think 3500-4000K is good for foggy weather or snow storms but those are typically used for fog lights and Fahren does not offer anything but 6500K.
*** Based on your review I bought these for my 2019 Ram 1500 Classic. They are very bright. The issue... With the engine OFF and headlights on, perfection. When the engine is RUNNING, I'm getting a slight flicker in both headlights. What would cause that? Any help is appreciated.
Hey y'all. I know you guys were having this conversation 6 months ago but I just wanted to chime in. I also have a Dodge pickup, your definitely going to want to get that module for the headlight and if you plan on doing blinker or brake upgrade go ahead and get that load resistor also. I installed my headlights with module everything's working perfect except for I have a polarity issue. Low beam is high and high beam is low not not that big of a deal except for can't run your fog/driving light with high beams on. Haven't heard anyone else to these issues. I was just wondering if had any issues like that
@@voodoodeluxe8381 Thank you your response. I'm still using the same led bulbs. There is still a very slight flicker that's only noticeable when I'm parked close to and pointing at a house or wall. I've never noticed any flicker while driving. Also, the flicker has not gotten worse. And the headlights are still just as bright as they were the first day. No error indicator with the led bulbs. I did install led switchback turn signals. No matter what settings I changed in the computer, I constantly had a light out indicator. Finally took out the led turn signals and put regular ones back in. So, overall very happy with theses headlights. Decided to not go with resistors.
not good for projector, bought 2 pairs of h7, 1 pair for low beam projector and 1 for reflector! Light output in reflector high beam is good but projector low beam is very dim! I don't personally recommend it for projector! Also when i placed my hand in front of the headlight(projector) 10cm away, i saw a black spot area in the middle, is it normal for projector or there is some issue?
Just received my 9005 Fahren LED today. What are the red gaskets for and when do you install or use them? Does my 2011 Ford Taurus Limited require any other items ie: anti flicker or canbus?
Hello, and nice work on the reviews. I have a question on my 2014 Honda Accord high beam/drl (Fahren Forscher 9005 bulb). High beam works fine and drl worked for a few minutes once installed, now does not. Specs state DC9v-32v. Can’t figure out why drl (lower voltage) would not work. I do not want to have them on high beam all the time (seems that is what happens when adding resistors/relays), but I would like them working as drls . Any input in absolutely appreciated.
Hard to say, but what I would do if you haven't already is rule out a wiring issue with your car. Switch back to the OEM bulbs and see if the problem still persists.
@@CarLightReviews outstanding. So many videos I see it's people just slapping in some LEDs or HIDs and thats that. If people don't start aiming their headlights they're going to ruin it for everyone. Eventually states will get fed up with the blinding light, and make it illegal to modify your lighting.
@@CarLightReviews the worst in my area are newer jeeps. I swear the intentionally aim them like that on purpose lol. I actually just got another set of fahren forschers in the mail today. I've had my other ones for 2 years, and one side of the bulb was starting to go out. So got some new ones. I also drive with my lights on, old habit. Plus I detail my engine bay a lot. So for the price you can't beat 'em. I'm sure if I had shut them off during the day, and minimized water on the whatever it's called the little ballast thing they would still be going strong. I mean one still was fine, just the drivers side bulb was intermittently flickering from just one side of the bulb it's self. I'd like to try the more expensive fahren leds some time when I have an extra $100 See what those are about.
THOROUGHLY impressed that you used a calibrated IR imaging thermal camera to measure temps of LED and driver. With good parts + QA upfront, that's what's likely to limit lifetime (I'm a former LED R&D Engineer). I note that the Fahren's warranty is only *one year* whereas there are other, more expensive brands that are guaranteed FOR LIFE. So if you don't enjoy tearing your car apart to change bulbs . . . FWIW, I've already had several cheap automotive LED products fail on me BUT, like Charlie Brown charging the football that he knows Lucy will pull away, I'm about to install THIS headlight in my 2017 WRX because one I got from "Headlight Experts" online failed after about three years.
Hey just have one question what about the fahren h7 22000 lumens will that work good in a projector housing found a pair on ebay what are your thoughts it's for a 2011 hiundai sonata headlamp let me know your honest opinion please
Great content! Thank you for the thoroughness! If it’s not on your list, can you do the Fahren Krieges LED bulb? I currently have the Hikari Hyperstar in a projector housing but was looking for something brighter. I was looking to try the Fahren Krieges after I saw this Forscher review, just not sure which of the Fahren’s to get. I’m looking for total light output under $100. Thanks in advance!
With the surprising and impressive results of the Fahren Forcestershire 😄 I do indeed plan to test the other Farhen models in the future. However, for 40 bucks...these are hard to beat. Pull that trigger and if I test another that is better sometime in the future, you can eBay them off and upgrade.
Does anybody know what the difference between the forscher and the ursprung are, both are fahren. They seem to have the same specs but I can't find really anything on the ursprung.
I received that request shortly after I made this video, and I started mentioning it in my videos as well as on the data sheet: carlightreviews.com/headlightspecs
Great review! You explain it so well that I, who know nothing about LED's, can now make an intelligent decision on choosing the best bulb for my application. Thank you.
I don't know why they don't offer 5K temps in LEDs Maybe the yellow phosphor burns off too easily.. 6500K looks bright and lights up light colored objects, but doesn't illuminate dark objects as well as lower temp bulbs do in real life.
A few companies do. DDM Tuning does and their products are typically pretty decent. I have been using them for quite a while. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Bpa7KwJ262A.html
That all depends on where you put your priorities for a headlight upgrade. These are a budget headlight, and the GTR Ultra 2 is a premium headlight. They are on opposite ends of the spectrum. But, you can decide for yourself. Watch my GTR Ultra 2 video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pqElv7yaUA4.html and then compare the specs here: carlightreviews.com/headlightspecs
Most LED upgrades use the same wattage but the fitment collar is what is different to position the light properly in the housing. If you use the proper replacement sizes for low and high, you should be fine.
That depends on the size, shape and design of your housing. If you cannot fit it inside with the dust cap on, and you can't fit it in the dust cap, sure you can modify the cap but make sure it is water tight or you will get stuff inside the headlight housing.
Yes, it is normal for the driver to get warm and even hot. See the 7:13 part of this video. I take thermal readings of all lights I test and put them in my spreadsheet at carlightreviews.com/headlightspecs. The driver on this one gets to about 120 degrees f, which is nothing compared to the halogen filament 700+ temperature (ru-vid.comH8VP762ApdA). However, still be cautious about how and where you mount the driver.
@@CarLightReviewsis it not a good idea to just have it inside/behind the the enclosed dust cap? I just kind of tucked it in there with the rest of the wires
This LED light will be your best bang for your buck. I purchased LED lights from Headlight Experts for my daughter's truck and wished that I had found out about the Fahren LEDs prior to the HE. You'll be saving twice the amount, and the quality is just as good as the HE. It's a no brianer.
Can you review X-7Seven Apollo and Zeus. The Apollo has 24,000 lumens per set. While the Zeus has 30,000 lumens per pair! I asked the seller if indeed the Zeus is brighter since it is newer and he told me it is their brightest leds. I was a bit skeptical since the Zeus only has 6chips per bulb wherein the Apollo has 12 chips per bulb. Can you really have a brighter bulb while using lesser csp chip count? @sergiu gabor already reviewed the Apollo and it is BRIGHTER than the Bevinsee V45!!! You should check this bulb im telling you. :)
Yes, I have it in my schedule. However, I don't have the best hopes for it as the 2023 Termitor didn't do well compared to the previous version: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2LJcU2hwPz8.html

@@CarLightReviews Thanks! Also, is it possible to check out how effective the heatsink and fan is? Like maybe stop the fan to see how hot the heatsink can get, then compare how it is when fan is on? Thats something different that no one else has done. Some food for thought :)
@@yerri5567 I was thinking about doing that. Might be interesting to see how hot it gets. However, I understand that fan failures are very uncommon. If I try it, I will have the fire extinguisher within reach. 🤣
My Nineo Light Cannons are by far the best/brightest LEDs I’ve ever had or seen. They are so bright they reflect back of street signs. I will never worry about driving at night again. You should check em out and review them.
I have had a few requests for Nineo lights and I have them on my list. Thanks for the suggestion. A side note...if you are seeing a lot of reflection from standard height street signs, I encourage you to check the aim of your headlights. You should only see light barely touch the bottom edge, if at all. Your lights might be aimed a bit too high.
FYI. Almost all control and restriction street signs are retro reflective which means they reflect back in the direction the light is coming from, your car. This is why street lights over or near a sign seem to have little effect on making them brighter and more visible. The light is reflected upward, not toward your eyes.
Would you say these are better than the firehawks? Even though firehawks are rated at 20K lumens (I'm mostly looking for the best lighting when driving
Define "better". Price? Brightness? Beam pattern? That's something that you need to consider. Check my spreadsheet for some specs, it should help! carlightreviews.com/headlightspecs And don't pay attention to published specifications...they never explain how they are "rated". That's why I made the videos I do! To give you REAL data!😎 Hope this helps.
I get that request often, but doing so wouldn't be in a controlled environment. My street might make a headlight look very bright or very dim compared to your street. That's why I do the same test in the same environment every time. My data tells the truth in my videos at carlightreviews.com/headlightspecs
I did check it with my laser thermometer, and it came out close. However, I can never tell if I am hitting the hottest spot on the unit. That's why I invested in the thermal camera. Which model of Marsauto should I look into?
i ordered the bevinsee V45 a few days for my reflector housing, i really couldn't see anything with my stock H4 halogens the V45 are better than these right?
