Recently sprayed the outside of a factory’s cladding in this barn paint, power washed back to bare galvanise surface and 2 coats of this using a 515 tip through a titan 440i unthinned around 1800 psi. Sprays a dream and is bulletproof when cured
Top paint that mate! I did an outside job in 2018 South facing the facia was shot! So got it all sorted primed then 2 coats of this on......I drove past a few weeks ago and still looks as good as new.
I spray this airless and its a bit special. Lots of black er.. barns in my area. It thins down a lot 30-40 % and still sprays well through a 312. Lovely, hit the gutters too
Good stuff! Dulux testing will be coming soon..... I've had contact with Dulux after doing these 'product testing' videos and they've been very helpful.
Kind of wish I'd used this on a job I done not so long ago it was all the beams soffits and fascias on a tutor house, I used allcoat exterior matt in black. Was lovely paint to use and looked great once finished. I may give this a try in the future 👍
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator yea I can't knock the stuff it's great paint bedec barn paint is half the price though but I can't knock zinsser products they have never let me down
Cool video Phil. Nice to have a play day. Love bedec really underestimate material M.s.p is amazing..but I'm sure you know that enyway. Cool video. Munro Decorators 👍
Cheers Craig. Been using MSP on an outside this week. Have to say it's ideal for fascias and under eaves. The soft gloss finish dries to more a good semi gloss - satin - which actually can hide a multitude of sins on old paintwork.
Just got a brand new power shed and a tub of this paint, thought the same thing with leaving it a year before paint but once the shed is up it will be impossible to get to the back and sides of it… I don’t know what the to do! What do you think? Plan is to start it today 😢
Hey Phil, just discovered your channel and love it! Right up my street! Any advice on a product to paint concrete paving slabs? Don't really want to spend the 2.5k it's going to cost to replace them right now! TIA.
Great. Loads for you to watch... Some say it helps them sleep watching before going to bed. Concrete slabs. You can us the BarnPaint... Or how about some masonry paint. Just be aware it may wear off and also start coming way if there's damp coming through from below. You don't want them with a slippery surface though.
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator thanks for the reply mate! As they aint going to be in for the long term, I'm going to lay a weedproof membrane and lay them on a hardcore and sharp sand base I think. Damp shouldn't be too much of an issue.
I’ve a question, Dulux Water Based gloss. Love the stuff, my question is can you change it from white to a different colour by adding some coloured waterbased Matt? Or would it upset the make up of the gloss? Just wondering. I’m guessing the answer is no, you could only use another waterbased gloss.
Hi, needed a bit more time to reply to you. Don't add matt paint to a gloss. YOu'll reduce the gloss finish. You'd be better using the same type gloss in another colour to knock off the colour you have, to the colour you want. OR... get some universal stainers .... that can go into any paint... google Universal stainers for paint. Over the years we've had a 1ltr bottle of the stainer that goes into a dulux mixing machine (a sienna colour).. that way a small drop of that would knock off white paint, to give a off white colour. ideal for an undercoat colour when using creams etc. hope that helps.
Hi, I can't see why not.. it goes over loads of surfaces like metal and plastic.. those are smooth..so new smooth planed timber shouldn't be a problem. Just give it a sand and dust it off, don;t forget to thin it down for that first coat. If in doubt, always check what the Technical Data Sheet (TDS) says for surface prep and application.. you can view that on line,
Hi Phil what do you recommend is the best water based exterior satin to use on a wooden shop front for windows, doors, casing, sills and also to coat up an old plastic sign so new signage can go up? Thanks
@@BusterBloodVessel1 both a much of a muchness TBH. In bare need wood I've found all coat to come away after a couple years and on the uPVC test it didn't hold up as well on uPVC as Frenchic AlFresco or Bedec MSP
Put it this way... I wouldn't go back to superdec now we're using this. Brian who works for us, these last three weeks has been using BarnPaint satin on outbuildings, summer gazebos and also uses the BarnPaint Semi-Gloss on some gates and posts... The sheen level of the gloss is really good and when it was rained on last week, it beaded up well. I see no point using oil now either on stuff like that.
palatine log and cabin paint best gear did a barn in that 8 years ago and still good all denatured timber timber primed with owatrol oil then 2 coats of the log cabin gear top stuff although the owatrol did give it a better foundation than what it normally go over. bird shit and dirt washes of it a lot easier than these acrylic barn paints they leave a more porous finish.
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator i dont think barritine do paint products just stains and wood preservers and solvents this is palatine paints either call and order or order online they tint ral colours and bs4800
