Yor normally does her missions in heels, viewing them as great emergency weapons. My assumption is her civilian heels are just not as tough as her work heels, and so one snaps under the pressure of her powerful movements.
The first time I watched this episode, the shots of all the agents coming in via helicopter, speed boat, full on SPRINTING through the woods to get to this castle, cause they think something critical to national security is happening made me need to pause from laughing. You can't watch this and not have your cheeks hurt from smiling by the end.
Love how Loid still thinks Yor is a civilian after that fight. Yeah the woman who almost beat the s*it out of the worlds best spy in hand to hand combat is a normal office worker.
Thats one of the key disbelief moments of the series, where something is quite obvious, and yet both main characters still choose to believe the most absurd things, like Loid believing that Yor is simlply a strong girl and participated in self defense classes and , or Yor without hesitation believing Loid when he's throwing grenades at armed "patients" being a sort of psychotherapy :D
@@mrKingslay Atleast with Yor it's in character. She is a dunce with everything + her crush on Loid makes its worse. But yeah for Loid it's basically a gag. He is extremely observant on details. It does make sense though. Yor is such a air head that no one would think of her as a spy or assassin.
@@Agent-57 Exactly, such ideas are not even crossing his mind, and anything extroardinary from her is just another "yea, just about right, 100% reasonable, rough childhood etc"
@@mrKingslay Because his observant mind reads the spy world extremely well, but the rest? Might as well be flying blind XD There is fan interpretation that this whole family have similar traits to autism, if in different ways. Loid: high-masking to play parts, Yor: can be distracted easily in her thoughts, Anya: a literal-minded approach to communication (ie, in one episode she says something to Becky and gets a response, then tries the same thing on Damian and is utterly shocked when he doesn't react the same way). ^All three: hyper-sensitive to (perceived) failure and rejection, leading to them thinking things will turn for the worse based on slippery slope fallacies, and each has their own specific hyper-fixation that they view the world through (spywork, assassinations, Spy Wars cartoon). But on the plus side, because of this, they bond instantly with each other even after they struggled to relate to anyone else for real
Detail check: Did you notice that Loids gloves were torn off by Yor punches and kicks which is a cool detail that shows how heavy Yor's punches were. Also: the main Boss's VA is Shunsui Kyoraku, funny cause the behaviour was kinda same in this episode.
Actually, for both Yor and Loid this is the first time in a long time when they feel like in a real family. And it so good for tham, that they kinda relax and don't pay attention to how strange they are. That is why Loid said in the first episodes a few times "did I really let my guard down?" "I never sleep in front of other people". The show it's so precious because of this
I like the head canon as well that the reason Loid never questions Yor's abilities is because he is so super human himself he doesn't see anything strange about her super human skills.
@@random3x70 I used to think that, but he figured out in an instant other "super humans" (no names to avoid spoilers). He is only clueless about Yor and Anya
You know, when this season was coming out, there were jokes that Spy x Family was commissioned by Japan's government to promote having kids, since Anya is just too cute 😂
Loid already knows Yor is remarkable since the first moment they met in the tailor shop. The question Loid would have is whether or not she's benefit or hinderance to his mission. At this point there's no reason to see Yor as anything other than favorable. Furthermore, people with secrets tend not to directly confront other people with secrets less they find themselves having to answer similar questions.
Flexie is collecting husbandos and adopting MC's (They're only 2 years old!) at an alarming rate! I think this is one of my favourite episodes. If you replay the fight and really pay attention to each move, you might see drunk Yor do a certain combo, then start repeating that combo only to switch it up for a uppercut to the stomach. Quite a good hand to hand fighting instinct, especially for a drunk Yor. I think she was not using her full power in that fight, which is very lucky for Loid lol. He was going to lose that full strength or not if Yor had not broken her heel and fallen asleep.
Things we learnt in this Episode 1; Anya is Adorable in a Flight Outfit 2; Do NOT let Yor Drink 😅 11:30 "She doesn't ask a lot of Questions" I mean...she has her OWN secrets she hasn't answered...Like why would a Yoga Class teach pressure points for a Cow? hmmm?
Loid Forger is just something else ❤ this whole family is absolutely adorable! Also fair warning that this show is a slow burn. Don’t expect secrets to be revealed soon.
"She kinda goes with the flow" is the best quirk of the show, she has been a super assassin her whole life same as twilights been a super spy all of his, something outrageous to a regular person is pretty normal in their world lol
It was really heartwarming seeing all the effort, everyone was putting into celebrating what is Anya's first step and especially Loid he was a big sport.
Yeah, everybody in this family has no concept of what is normal. Yor just rolls with Loid's crazy excuses about anything that happens and accepts him being able to do stuff like fly airplanes and jump off bridges to knock out purse-snatchers, and Loid doesn't see anything weird about Yor being skilled enough in hand-to-hand combat to be able to paralyze rampaging cows by hitting the cow's pressure points or how she's not only able to be a match for him despite being completely drunk, but even potentially beat him in a one-on-one fight. Why would a random civil servant be a better fighter than the best spy in his country?
you kinda hit the nail on the head on what you think is going on with loid and yor about how oblivious they are with eachother and their concept of what normal is lmao
It has to be said, Loid might be cool but Franky was the MVP of the episode. He pushed for Anya to get a reward and was a big part in making it happen.
Haha yes! The VA is so talented and well trained that I, at first, didn’t realize that she also voices Lady Gyokuyou from Apothecary diaries. You can only hear the similarities in voice of all three characters if you know who is the VA😂
I was curious about how much money they spend and we see the actual bill: "D 8000" I calculated it so: 1950 Germany had Douche Marks. 1 Dolar was worth around 4,2 Marks. Round it up to 2000$. Nowadays that's eqivalent of like 26 thousands.
It truly shows you how strong Yor is that even falling down drunk she was about to kill Twilight who is the most highly trained spy in the world. Even with a gun she would kill him easily, although he could likely convince her not to since he's extremely persuasive. I'm anime only, but I almost wonder whether the Garden did some modification on Yor to make her so strong, after all experiments in this world gave Anya telepathy. I'm not sure how Loid would take it if he learned about Anya's powers. Yor likely wouldn't care - and while Anya could be ungodly useful to Loid (he could complete Operation Strix by merely getting Anya in range of Desmond) but she could also be a liability. My guess is he would subtlety try to use her powers while using his mental discipline to avoid thinking about mission details or perhaps by switching the voice in his head into a language she doesn't know.
Given certain feats seen later, and even what we have seen so far, I think it's impossible she is not augmented in some way. They had to have done something to make her at least 4 or 5 times stronger than a normal woman.
Yor was, for reasons, already killing as a teenager and accidentally sending her younger brother spin-flying with playful whacks ^Whether there is augmentation or not - since as of yet, we just don't know - she's had that ungodly strength since at least then, and it's why Yuri turned out so tough (accidentally, on her part) :P
Being fair, Loid was trying to keep his cover and not act as Twilight. So we can't assume Yor has the supreme advantage here. Additionally, I think he'd be hesitant of intentionally using Anya's abilities if he discovered, if only because he would probably rather avoid manipulating and using children in that fashion.
I love that Yor is already willing to kill for Anya, and not like "Oh, I'd defend her with my life!" but full on "Oh she needs to get into school, and someone is standing in the way of it. I'll just kill them..."
I ended up liking the anime so much that I chose to read its manga. So good too and I'm excited for when those later events get animated. The movie was fun too. The series somehow made the perfect mix of wholesomeness and action.
Yor and Loid are war orphans they had no normal upbringing, they had a few early years with their parents until they nearly lost everything. Additionally both a preoccupied with their own double life, for Loid it is more like a triple life and Yor has a certain naive gullibility to her. That is why they don't notice the obvious issues with the other.
He make things seen like everything is for the mission but he really love it but he does not want to believe that he enjoy this so he says its for the mission
Love this episode. Loid doesn't know (unconsciously) but in this point he will do anythig for Anya. Yor as Yorticia is maybe one of the most "bad ass" fight scenes I ever seen. Good thing that Yor loses her memory when had a hangover.
Henderson told the truth that there would be a few legitimate withdrawals. This is a small detail and not a spoiler, but later at the school we hear the name "Grace Fein" called out. She was #4 on the waiting list Henderson showed them. So Anya was among at least a small handful that qualified after the fact.
If you like SpyxFam, you’ll also like Kaguya Sama : Love is war. One of the best & highest rated anime of all time. Fun fact : Loid’s VA is also a main protagonist VA in Kaguya sama
That is the fun part. If the argument is verbal, Loid has a huge advantage because of Yor's naivety. Only if the argument becomes physical (and Yor gets serious) will Loid be in actual trouble.
Yor probably doesn't ask questions and tries to get along with everything since she doesn't want them asking questions about her too. Same goes for Loid :D
I am just here waiting for Twilight to ever find out that he could have just done it for free at home or in the park. The maximum he would have paid for was a Castle tent or something 😎😁😌🤓
