It's been some time since you posted this video and a big thanks from us less tech savvy fokes. I was wondering if you still feel the same about AMD over Intel in regards to CPU's? Or do you think in the last three years, Intel has become a more superior product than AMD. Your thoughts, trying to decide on a traveling laptop for photo editing.

My sisters and I lost our mother during the pandemic in January 2021. We as a family did our best to shield her from the virus. Sadly she became poorly at Christmas and after several visits from paramedics who recommended our mother stay home as it was the safest place for her, we ended up having to send her to the hospital because she could not breathe due to heart failure. Whilst there she caught Covid and was sent home where she passed it on to my sister and myself. Sadly she became so ill and breathless we had to send her in to hospital where she tested positive and passed away four days later. We thankfully never told her we'd caught it from her, but also like many families we were unable to visit her in the hospital where she passed away quietly. Thankfully she was visited the day she passed away by two family friends who were nurses and held her hand and who spoke with her at length... I wish your wife and her loved ones Peace and Respect.

I wanted to buy Dell precision workstation 5820 xeon m.2 4tb 64gb of RAM Nvidia Rtx 5000 for photoshop and premier pro, because I currently use Microsoft surface book2 with GTX 1060 it work fine rendering 10-20 minutes video with little effect added, but whenever working on longer video up to 2 hours with so many effects it keeps crashing giving so many errors code messages in different attempts. what's you advice?
Hmmm that's tough to detect the main issues, because I know both the GPU memory and the RAM for the machine can be the culprit for crashes during rendering - especially with heavy effects. How much RAM is in your current machine?

Just started looking for components for a possible build around Photoshop and Lightroom...I just saw a video on the Ryzen 5700G that said the GPU integrated into the CPU was more than enough to handle Photoshop without the need for a discrete GPU card. What are your thoughts? Thank you.
I'm not entirely sure as I haven't been keeping up with the latest developments in tech. However I have to believe that some of the urgency to develop GPU capabilities in a CPU is due to the card shortage thanks to cryptocurrency mining. Since that seems to be collapsing and card prices are falling, perhaps that dynamic might change. Baseline to me is this - the two components (CPU and GPU) do so much for the entire system and software that if you can keep them separate and their resources dedicated to their individual tasks, then it's probably the most balanced system you can create. Also, what do you think of the AMD Radeon Pro 560X in mac, I don't know how to compare it to NVIDIA RTX? Is there anything at a similar level to RTX that I can look for instead. I'm an intermediate using photoshop for illustration and I just don't know what to buy. I don't know if this will be a career but I'd like to keep doing graphic drawing and stay up to date. So confused sorry such a long question(s)
No worries at all on the question - I welcome it! I've heard that AMD is pushing the Radeon series forward and definitely trying to make waves with it. However I haven't followed enough of it to know what to recommend - especially for a Mac as I have only been a PC boy for a number of years. I have to believe though that the added speed of ray tracing and that software can be infused into other GPUS besides the RTX series. Given how fast they are expanding the RTX line I believe that it's more of a software issue than it is with hardware?
@@RealityReimagined the model which am talking about holds - gtx1060, amd Ryzen5 4600H hexa core, 8gb ram, 1tb HDD, 256gb SSD, 120hz screen 15ARH05 IT HAS higher variants but as of now am unable to buy them. Too costly
@MODERY I think this should be a fine system to run most of the functions of Photoshop. However the new Neural Filters are very graphics heavy and that can tax your system. If this is what you can afford, I do think it's a solid choice!

I’ve been considering getting a Huawei Matebook D14, ryzen 7 3700U, 8gb ram, 100% sRGB but the screen brightness looks a bit off, a gaming laptop msi gf63 i5, 8gb ram, but the ntsc is at 45% and the low priced one I saw uses HDD instead of SSD so I didn’t want it, I’m considering asus vivobook 15, bc of the reviews and it’s always in the “budget laptop for photoshop” I just can’t decide bc every time I look further into the reviews ppl wouldn’t suggest long time use and heavy editing for these laptops and would suggest laptops that has higher price and I can’t afford if you have a suggestion at a price ranged of $895 below please let me know
I’m just kind of scared to get the wrong laptop bc my PC can’t run photoshop smoothly anymore and laptops might do worse for this, my laptop will probably end up worn out if I pick the wrong one bc I paint for long period of hours... I’d like an HP Omen 15 - the best laptop I could find for photoshop that’ll ease my mind but its too pricey
I totally hear you on this and understand where you are coming from. I've been using the new Ryzen chip for a minute now and it's working really, really well in multitude of tasks with Adobe products. I would recommend getting the best CPU you can, then GPU, then memory. Memory can be upgraded at a later time, but that CPU is key. Also make sure to keep the laptop cool and clear of dust, if you are going to paint for long periods of time and that should help tremendously. I would recommend going through the startup programs as well and disable as many as you can. Laptops are notorious for bloatware that eat up system resources behind the scenes. It's not noticeable at first, but as you continue to use the system, you will see the issue arise. Good luck and keep me in the loop on how it goes!

Do you go to the manufactures website or is there a specific site that tells you about the latest and greatest to come? My friend has told me not to buy yet because next year they are bringing out all these new technologies. How does he even learn about what’s to come? But my laptop has died. Luckily I specked it up, as it was a custom gaming laptop, but I really had no clue what I was doing. 3 SSD hd, 32gb ram etc. It was so fast and handled layered heavy photoshop files really well as that’s how I create my artwork. But now I understand even better. Is there any issue working off a fast external SSD HD? And very sorry for your loses, important message 👍🏼

Most of the information I gather each year come from trusted sources like Engadget, Toms Hardware, and content creators on RU-vid that have been around a long time and are definitely versed in tech knowledge. Check out Linus Tech Tips, JayzTwoCents and Dave2d. In regard to the external drive speeds that is a step I'm about to take myself. I'm incorporating a NAS to my system rather than internal drives. I have to believe that given the speed of new hardware and software, that there must be little to no difference with working on an external versus internal drive. Thank you too for the kind words - they are about to celebrate their mother's memorial next week as this is the first time it's safe enough for all of them to travel to her home town and celebrate her life.
Hi there, I'm really struggling to find a new desktop with the key features outlined in this video esp in regard to graphics cards and cpu, any recommendations? I know its going to be an arm and a leg but I can't build one, that might kill me.
Apologies on the delay for response - I had to go out of town on a family trip that consumed a lot of time. I would definitely look still for the AMD Ryzen CPU over Intel, but it seems due to Covid shortages in production, that it's hard to find the Ryzen chips natively in pre-built systems. You may have to go the route to build your own if you go with AMD. I just sourced a laptop for my sister and it had a 10th generation Intel i7 CPU, an RTX 2060 GPU and plenty of memory and storage for $2k. The RTX 2000 line is getting harder to find, so that might be where you want to look to save some dollars?
