I am Vietnamese, and I try to be as diverse as I can, trying to like things from other cultures and whatnot. But Vietnamese food is by far, in my opinion, the best type of food.
Ever since being introduced to Asian foods I've been in love. But Vietnamese food definitely is on the top of my list. I used to work with 2 Vietnamese women that were so amazing and like aunties to me, and they would always share their yummy spring rolls and summer rolls with me. Everything just taste like it's made with love and I can't get enough 💕 My favorite Pho restaurant near me makes an ultra spicy chili paste and it's my favorite 😍
Didn't know you were in Vietnam! I'm a Canadian, living here in Hanoi. So many good things to try. Hope you have a Hanoi video coming up because there are so many great local specialties here as well. As far as your condiment selection goes: that's what it's there for! One of the best parts of Vietnamese noodle dishes is that there are so many condiments that you can personalize your bowl exactly to your tastes. One thing that's tough to get used to coming from North America, is definitely the dog thing. There are dogs tied up all over the place. Sometimes they are "guard dogs", but sometimes it seems like for no reason. And they sit there all day. It's a bit sad for sure. I wanna take em' all home!
@@brennencox516 sorry your South version of Phở is dogshit. Just like Domino pizza versus the original Italian Pizza. Sweet as fuck, eating with beansprouts? Hoison sauce? Seriously? Wake up you donut shit.
A couple of months ago i asked you to to a video in Vietnam. You responded and said you would soon. Here it is. This video exceeded all of my expectations! Thank you so much Mike! Looking forward to more in this Vietnam series ((:
Dude, Mikey, you make me miss my country so much. Got out since 1975, but had not ever came back to visit yet, over 40 years now😣 Mikey, I say you just need to by a flat in Việt Nam and make it your vacation home. Come back every year and stay for 3 months and go touring from the very bottom of the country to the very North (Hà Nội); then go back South to Sài Gòn again - then fly back to the US. By the way, the Whole right side of our Vietnam is 1 super long Beach, Dude! 🤗Everyone, ENJOY VIETNAM🤗. The US Dollar goes furthest in Việt Nam - out of All those countries in that neck of Southeast Asia. I am very proud of our beautiful Vietnam and its DELICIOUS FOOD 🍲🤗
I’m Vietnamese and I miss it so bad but I’m not allowed to go back and my parents won’t tell me why I miss it so much I will be able to go back when I’m 21 And I’m 12
gosh, my house is just 5 minutes walk from this place but haven't tried this yet since my family usually have meals at home but as you advertised it's really good. I'll try it next time I go back home.
We all know Mikey does some exceptional videos but this? This is his best work surely. You can just see how much fun he's having and how much he is genuinely loving the food. This IS Strictly Dumpling. Thanks Mikey.😋😍🙏
Im Vietnamese, i lived in Saigon whole my life, and bravo you did really good. its lovely to see noodle in the different form and favor not just pho. Thanks for visiting my city
Mike is the perfect mix of food critic/ comic ! Wouldn't be surprised to see him on his own FOOD-NETWORK or Travel Channel show in the future. ... Thanks for the laughs and making me hungry Mike.
I have watched so many travel/food vlogger but you are one of the best. And you actually finishing your meals. And you genuinely enjoying every meal. Darn!🔥🔥🔥 We'll be in vietnam next year! Haha i'll eat everything you ate! Haha
Im from the netherlands and theres nothing I love more than the asian kitchens (I know how generalised that sounds but pad thai and pho are like my favourite dishes ever. Oh and ramen. And dumplings. Ok Ill show my whitegirl ass out now.)
Happy new year:) I had my first pho this summer and it was absolutley delicious. Craving it right now. The broth and the noodles are so good, im not a meat person, but the meat was really good and just melts in your mouth. Planning to try making it myself someday, but it can probably not compare to real authentic vietnamese pho.
yeah, I saw it before and it seems relativley easy to do, just the meat that takes a while to boil. Really have to try it, so good:) Mike, please make more noodle receipe videos, absolutley love noodles.
Peter Pham Mikey Chen usually doesnt react to spice, so it was quite surprising when Mikey coughed from pepper. He wasnt talking bad about him in anyway.
I love, love, love Pho and I load mine up with spices like you do Mikey! I'm gonna have to get some this Saturday now even though it's like a billion degrees in VA right now! When I go to my Vietnamese place I think the only thing I've ever gotten is Pho!
Makes me wonder if he smokes before he does any of these tastings? Love his genuine reactions. Some of the dishes I particularly do not like but watching him describe them makes me want to eat a bowl ASAP!
There is a Pho place one town over from me, which is a huge cultural step up for that area. It is my all time favorite place to eat and I crave that giant bowl of pho, combination style, with tripe and tendon and meatballs... Oh my goodness . The bowls do get full with the toppings and noodles as apposed to the broth like you were saying. I actually bought 3 thai basil plants just so I could eat it with my ramen at home. 😋
1. Phở (too iconic, nothing else to say) 2. Bánh canh cua (seafood lovers will crave for this) 3. Bún thịt nướng (uhm, don’t misunderstand this with Bún Chả Hà Nội, it’s similar but it’s not) 4. Hủ tiếu Sa Đéc (I’m kinda ashamed of myself not knowing this iconic Southern dish)
Qua Vietnam nhất định phải ăn ,bánh xèo, cơm tấm ,bún bò , bún riêu,bún thịt nướng,bánh canh cua, sò điệp nướng mở hành, bún chả Obama, bánh đúc, bò nướng lá lốt,nem lụi,gỏi cuốn và bánh mì.Còn phở là quốc dân rồi :)
Hey Mike, the Pho cultures in Saigon and Hanoi are quite different. You might wanna visit Vietnam again to experience both. I mean they're both good but in different ways
One of my favorite things to watch are highly-specialized skills of people who have been doing a job for a long time... like the lady cutting spring rolls with scissors super fast
I’m glad Mike used the hoisin sauce in pho. That’s how it should be eaten: with hot sauce and hoisin sauce. You make me miss pho and my hometown food. It’s so cruel to my stomach to watch your video at midnight.
He’s added so much sauce to his pho, it’s not even pho anymore. When you’re eating pho in Vietnam, it’s perfect. You don’t need anything else apart from lemon and chilli.
That dipping sauce is called "Nuoc Cham" and it contains fish sauce, but also other ingredients. Mikey I smile everytime I see you wear a shirt from Canada:). I 100% understand what you mean about having your palate somewhat ruined when you have the best ever pho. After eating croissants in France I could not have any in North America. When you have the best it kind of goes downhill at any other place. 😬
@@louisbeerreviews8964 True, they could marry a citizen and move there that way. Or do visa runs to constantly get new tourist visas. And one doesn't have to go to university to get job skills to make one valuable enough to get hired to work abroad.
going to have to save watching this video when I have my own bowl lol. edit: I knew I had to see this video after the adam richman video. now i have to change my mind and say this was the best one yet
@YB Jeon 🙄🙄🙄 who put salt in your cheerios. Lots of people call soup spoons Asian spoons because you don't see it anywhere else besides Asian restaurants or Asia.
