We have never had a close look at the Three Sisters, and what we could do around Katoomba. Parking is metered almost everywhere on the streets.
The best place to park is at Lilianfels Park, It is metered from 9am to 5pm (Au$8 for the first hour and Au$9 each hour after that),
we arrived at 7:30am so had plenty of time to do the walk down to the Giant Stairway and Honeymoon Bridge and back. We also paid for an hour
so we can visit Katoomba Waterfall about 15min walk from here (be sure to check out our video). We walk around Echo point lookout
and checked out all the advantage points to view the Three Sisters, Jamison valley and Mount Solitary. Its great checking out the Sisters from various angles.
Coming early is great, free parking , little tourist walking about and very peaceful, but the drawback is the light fog throughout the mountains and the Sisters making
in not too clear also the Visitors centre opens up at 9:00am. The archway next to the visitors centre takes you to Oreades lookout,
Giant Stairway and the Honeymoon Bridge linking you to the first sister, unfortunately this bridge was closed on our visit. The three sisters walk
takes you through beautiful Banksia and Eucalypt forest, we did come across Crimson Rosellas and the beatiful sounds from Lyrbirds.
