This list is a bit different if you’re looking for diversity and equity in the schools. Southlake - no diversity. Coppell - some diversity. Frisco - some diversity, but low equity scores in schools and few teachers of color. Highland Park- lol. It seems as though your list is targeted toward wealthy white families. Nothing wrong with that if that’s your target demographic, but you should address the issue of racial and economic inequality in the DFW so people understand what they’re getting themselves into. If you grew up here and as a person of color, you should understand what I’m talking about.

Born and raised in Dallas. The video topic wasn't about the most diverse communities. However, diversity has been covered in other videos on our playlist. I personally don't see color and whether I'm in Southlake, DeSoto, Irving or HP I feel the exact same way. I'm going to be me and so my thing regardless of where I'm at.

@@VIPRealty you may not see color, but other people see you. I’ve lived a little longer than you, and although things have gotten better, we are nowhere near being a colorblind society.

We, unfortunately, left Keller TX 20 some odd years ago due to a job and we still keep in touch with our friends and neighbors. My oldest daughter ended up going to Texas Tech with a lot of the kids she made friends within pre-school and most of them and their families attended her recent wedding. Other than the property taxes it's a fantastic state to live and raise a family in. About 8 years ago we relocated from the hell that is California to Northern Virginia (30 miles from DC) and I choked when we purchased a 20+-year-old house for $450,000. When we left Keller we had just purchased a new made to spec house for $158,000. Granted that was over 20 years ago...

Southlake, Colleyville, Keller, Coppell, Richardson, McKinney, Allen, Plano, Frisco, Park Cities, Rockwall. Tons of great places for families.

What are the property tax rates for these different area? So these areas can be as expensive as California. Texas is the new California.

Which of the areas mentioned has excellent schools and offers opportunity to purchase a 3/2 good standard home for 250k-300k?

Very possible with 400,000... most of these are upscale neighborhoods with buried utilities, good schools and streets. They have zoning which prevents commercial development in residential areas

Yep, but factor in that there are no state income tax. If you’re coming from a state that has that, you may be surprised after doing your budget that it’s a wash for the most part!

Is it possible to purchase a house before selling my current home? i'm in california and have been thinking of moving to Dallas Texas but not sure if i can buy before selling my current home, a few years back i was told that you need to have a job there before they even consider you. Depends on your finances. I can have a lender call you to discuss. Your home should sell fast in California. Saying that, I'd personally would want to have a job locked in before moving.

Hmm, you had me until you made the disclaimer on South Lake. As a realtor I think it’s really valuable to be abreast and knowledgeable about the social/cultural climate of various cities. This component can be very important to clients, especially those of diverse cultural backgrounds. Do your due diligence to be in the know of all aspects of living conditions for your clients.

I like DFW. I partially regret moving to Haslet from NY only because of my unique situation. I'm not sure if I want to stay here. Maybe it's just this particular part but I did get a horrible impression.

I think TX is great but my main issue is renting. I am truly tired of renting if I can help it I'd like to purchase a home in a decent suburb. DFW is great I think I just chose the wrong part.
