Am from Sheffield and have visited London in the past few months a couple of times three nights each stay to take in the sights. I stayed near Earls Court tube in Kensington and Chelsea and for tube connections it was great into Westminster in 10 mins and a good area for pubs and eating out. Was a vibrant place walked past Stamford Bridge to Fulham Broadway. Done a lot of central London and East up to Canary Wharf on the Uber boat. Next time am down there going to explore more West, Fulham, Kingston and Richmond which look really nice areas with the green spaces.

Can someone explain why Crystal Palace looks so bad but ranked number 1? I don't get it. Is there something special about Crystal Palace that I'm missing? Other than CPFC which I know have a do or die following, Crystal Palace looks a lot like Croydon no?

This list has the sniff of trying to give estate agents a lift. Victoria Park? Hilarious. Conveniently forgot to mention the suburbs it is close to, where you would not stray after dusk. Teddington? Home of yummy-mummys, 4x4, and stay-at-home baby machines, while daddy goes up to the City. New Malden? Used to play rugby there in the 1970's - it is as just as Hyacinth Bucket country as it ever was. Pretentious. King's Cross - you cannot polish a turd. Hanwell - well, we are journeying towards the world of fantasy here. Crystal Palace - we've arrived.

Perhaps this is just a language difference between America and the UK, but how can a suburb be considered part of London? I thought suburbs were completely separate towns. or in England is a suburb just another name for a district/neighborhood?

Affordable housing what a joke

One of the biggest problems living in a nice area in London is that's where the criminals patrol for things to steal. I see them in their cars (and on stolen bikes) looking for victim's property by day, then carrying out their criminal behaviour at night. Try getting the police to do anything. They're too busy chasing down pensioners driving their mobility scooters.

Crystal Palace?! Seriously? It's a muggers paradise. If you have to live in London stick to the boroughs of Bromley, Bexley, Havering, Kingston and Richmond.
