With all due respect, a few ideas you didn’t mention: 1. You put Undead Soldiers in front (not back) because of their speed and you put Inquisitors in front or back...But they really aren’t much different speed-wise. Harbingers on the other hand are much slower and they don’t bolt from the back line nearly as fast as Undead and Inquisitors. 2. Not much said about Ogre Warriors but how about this: Compared to other single load tanks, even ones with superior stats, when used in the back Ogres have the added benefit of the bash skill which disperses Apprentices and Assassins and helps to delay the attack from behind. 3. Viking Warriors gain attack attributes when their health is under 50%. So I try less to to preserve these than other single load tanks because if some troops had to take early damage, this is the one I want to have it. 3b. Peltasts are the opposite in that way (use vs preserve). I put Peltasts where they will last because each spear is (supposed to be) 2% stronger than the previous one. 4. Pilgrims - if you play your hero to the side (as I do), put the pilgrims on that side. Healing your hero is far more beneficial than healing any other troop. 5. Necromancer/Scholar - Necro is the one troop that can give you more benefit than it’s worth if it stays in battle til the end (and if the battle lasts long enough). You could spawn 40+ skeletons by the end of battle if it lasts, or spawn 0 if Necromancer dies too quickly. It’s also the only troop incapable of defending itself with its 0 attack. For those reasons I always put a Scholar next to my Necro. Enemy troops stay away from scholars unless you put them where they can get caught up in the melee. Putting scholars and Necromancers in the middle rows on the outside keeps them alive long enough for the skeletons to reinforce front or back lines, and the necromancers and scholars usually only die from eventual catapult/mage attack.

Could you make a video that gives those with a range of troops an idea of which troops to use or leave in the Barracks, where to place them, and how to decide between troops when you have a higher-tier but lower-ranked troop vs a lower-tier but higher-ranked troop? For example, if I have a level 4 Golem or a level 6 or 7 Ogre, and I only had one spot, which would you put in it and why? Or if you had four level 8 Paladins, but you only had one level 8 Pelts and a level 5 Pelts...would you recommend the level 5 Pelts over a level 8 Paladins? So a video covering scenarios like that would he helpful, for those who are in between beginners and those with a full level-8 army, who are still leveling up troops and trying to get enough to fill the Barracks with. Lastly, is there a solid way that you know of to get and level up Legendary troops? I've been playing hours a day for over a month now, and I still don't have one single level 8 Legendary troop. I have a few 7s, but no 8s. I know you can get some through the Fusion Temple, but in order to get higher-level ones (above level 2), you have to have a HELL of a lot of gems. And the same goes for leveling up heroes. I get shards all the time, but they're almost ALWAYS for heroes I never use, like Green, Planck, Hohenheim, Illum, Moshe, Robin Hood, and so on. I have literally gotten 3 shards out of 4 in a row for the SAME HERO. Meanwhile, my Davison has been stuck at level 3 for almost the entire time I've been playing. Just the last couple of days, they finally put his shards on the Wheel of Fortune, but they took it away for most of a week, then it just came back...and I've only hit one once out of 15 spins. It's like, all the heroes I WANT to use--him, Zeus, Apollo, Poseidon, Ivan, Harrison and Chione--are all stuck between levels 1--3, and I can't seem to ever get a shard for any of them. Any suggestions there?
I find that templar knights work pretty well in the back row. They are very fast and turn around very quickly to help take out any ghost assassins or magic aprs.
Time to update this list and even better, no one has made a video or list of alternative troops! Or bundling troops together so that we know who they are. If I don't have undead soldiers, who else would I put in its place? As an example. This is so needed as many troops are coming out, explaining how to categorize these troops would be amazing. Another example is, melee troops. Explaining who and what melee troops are to those who haven't figured it out yet.

Swordsman are good too in last 3rd row on lvl 8 they are tanking magic apperances really good and holding then away long enough till archers or other melee come back
Funny thing is though that the official guide recommends using magic apprentices much further down. As they are immune to damage while flying towards the back row of the enemy. (So is the devil)
The game changes a lot and this video is 2 years old. Now-a-days they are mostly in front but can really be positioned anywhere if they serve a purpose.
The Bandits has a range attack that throws daggers before enemy's approaching?!!😧 How come I've never seen them do so after so many tries???😰 Would 3rd or 4th row still be too afront of the formation for the bandits to utilize their range skills?
I'm at 4000 pvp score and I won nearly all defense and offense with a tier 6 poseidon Well I use 2 goblinkaze in the 2nd back line 2nd and last 2nd column because like so they dont explode at the same time and generally kill every ghost assasin and it seam that when they explode, they reset the agro of allied troop, so remainning assassin and witch are attacked faster. For undead, well, my strategie is to defend my back line first and then carry my back line to the frond so I use them in the back line because if they die they will respawn and attack assassin and when the back line is fine, they will quickly attack the front line.
Someone is going to have to explain this one to me, because I don't get it. I'm running around with a Lvl 6 Davison and a MAX LEVEL 442-troop, ALL LEVEL 8 army. But I just ran into TWO guys in a ROW who had lower-ranked heroes that I beat all the time (Lvl 5 Davison and Poseidon--I just beat two level 6s of BOTH with bigger armies than these two had). In both cases, when both heroes were dead, I had a SIGNIFICANT troop lead on both players--between 70 and 80 on the Davison guy, and over 100 on the Poseidon guy. And yet, despite every troop in my army being Level 8, they somehow came back in SECONDS, overtook my lead, and won...and we were less than 150 troops from finishing before that. So imagine you have 150 level 8 troops, your opponent has 50, neither of you has your hero left...but the other guy still wins. How in the name of GOD does that make sense?? Ever since the update 2 days ago, I've been having this same issue with MULTIPLE players every single day, where I have a sizable lead with very little time left, and still lose almost every time. What the hell is going on here????
Hi i have been playing this game from last one month... its a good game just confused when and how troops get unlock... as i m at level 1890 so many of my troops are still locked.
Please,I have one question, If I have for example two Golem of 5 rate in my army, and no one more in my headquarters, I let this two separated or it is better to join them into a 6 rate Golem??? The good sense is to have two of 5 rate if you cant refill the new free position with another similar troop in powerful... isnt it?? Thanks in advance!!
Guys can anyone answer me what the trigger number is for a special skill?? For example if pilgrims have trigger number 4 this means that they heal every 4 attacks they make??
Hey phase, is it possible to reset your arena defense formation to just match whatever you have on attack? I saved a defense one time and now I have to go in there to manually update my army a second time any time I make a change and it's super annoying.
