I have never been able to work out if you use a script at all. I only ask because you don't repeat yourself, you don't mumble, no errs and umms just great information communicated in a clear unambiguous way. I've followed you for years. You never disappoint. You deserve all the success you have. - Caroline
Thank you so much, friend! Your words mean so much to me ❤️ I always feel like a robot when script reading, so I rely on some bullet points and a general outline for the most part :)
Just wow! Teela I got it give it to you. You always have great videos and I love it that they are not 20 minutes long of mumble jumble but just straight to the point. But this video I really needed and answer for a lot of questions I had together with the previous video. Because I knew I didn’t want to do Etsy at all. Thank you!!
Apart from great and well-structured information, I want to say how much I love your new video style! I'm sure it takes more time to plan and shoot but it's worth it! In regards to platforms for digital products, where does Teachable fit in your ecosystem? I've been using both Gumroad and Teachable for a number of years and slowly switching everything to under one roof in my Teachable school.
Thanks so much! We're keeping Teachable exclusively for courses right now. Their digital products section is just too new for me to commit just yet. I like getting all the analytics we do with Shopify since switching, the ease of applying multiple licenses/preview images, cart option/automated review emails + publishing, etc. plus controlling the shop design/experience as a whole. Keeping my eye on the new features they're adding, though!
Got it! Makes sense. I actually use "courses" on Teachable even just for downloadable products such as brushes (as I include instructional/installation video as a part of the product anyway)
Hey! If you're looking for similar POD sites, there's also printify and printed mint. If you'd like something specifically for prints, www.gicleetoday.com/ offers drop shipping and their print quality is wonderful!
Hi Teela, I am wondering is all your marketing for your gum road just from RU-vid? I’ve had a shop for a year or slightly more and zero sales. I don’t have a ton of products. I post on Pinterest but I don’t think I’m getting much traffic and I can’t afford to pay for ads.
My marketing comes from RU-vid, Pinterest, Instagram, my website and email newsletter - the more variety you have, the more audiences you can reach - I don't run any paid ads to my shop 👍
Hi Teela ,i want to ask because i dont know: İf we give the commercial rights to the downloaders ,this doesnt restrict our own roghts in any way? İs it true ?
My personal experience with DB is that it's gone WAY down in the last 1-2 years. They stopped doing their bundles because they were only making $20 for designers, when at one point it was $500+. Everything is just about AI over there now 😥
Oh man, I'm so sorry your experience has been so awful recently. I was surprised to see their push for AI and curious how that'll go. Have you noticed the decline specifically with certain categories of products? I think fonts are pretty safe from AI for now as well as most mockups, actions, presets and brush sets.
Can you all help me out. I am trying to sell a small educational software program online. The buyer gets a link to download it but their computer will never finish the download because the computer doesn't recognize the .exe file and is apparently afraid it might be a threat. I have used third party platforms to sell it but the same thing happens every time the user tries to download. It won't ever complete the full download process.
Keeping my fingers crossed they open that back up again soon, but luckily the THJ and Gumroad are more than enough to get sales coming in for someone just starting!
I guess it’s just a matter of personal perspective. I have tried it out several times over the years. My experiences have not been good. It has been about 2 or 3 years now since I last gave it a shot. So maybe they have made their user interface better. For me it was difficult to navigate comfortably. Also I felt pressured by the payment system they use. Gumroad just seems like a more relaxed environment for my taste. Like they say…”Just start with what you know, see what sticks, and get paid.” Shopify is in it for Shopify. I do not like Etsy either. Used to in their beginning. Thank you so much for all of your videos. This one was particularly helpful. You are a fantastic artist and teacher. ❤
