good shout, unite has a terrible job to describe what each roles actually have to do in a game, they only have 10 minutes, and they should learn to make most of that time
I feel like if the game gave some nice spotlight to the supporter role as being just as important as carries, then maybe we'd have more people enjoying those roles.
@@MusicComet this entire game needed a rework on so many things, it always feels like they get everything undone or just left behind, other moba games already laid out the blueprints for timi to do it, but they didn't
For new players, I strongly advise against playing defenders. As Spragels pointed out in one of his previous videos, you can't climb in ranked as a defender. As a former defender main, I completely agree with his conclusion. When you play defenders, you put your fortunes in the hands of teammates who will let you down more often than not. Learn to carry. Not only will you win more, but when you do decide to play defender, you'll have a better understanding of what your carries will need from you. Be careful of investing too much time into Ho-oh. It gets frequently banned in draft and EX pokemon are likely to get broadly nerfed once the EX designation gets axed. Try Trevenant. It's tanky, has lots of self healing, has strong CC, and once you get good with it, you can aggressively peel enemies away from their allies with Horn Leech, setting up big KO's for your team. I love seeing content like this. Keep it coming, Cowboy.
@@marshmallofluffnot get nerfed it’s terrible now you have to always revive or whenever your in a fight teammates never there or you got to worry about pokemon who stun you every second like alolan ninetales wigglytuff Mr mime gardevoir or espeon there’s a lot more I can name
tl;dw Jake says these are the best Pokémon for each role... Defender: Greedent Attacker: Cinderace Supporter: Sableye Speedster: Gengar All-Rounder: Machamp
@@SomeoneNr9 Aegislash is good, machamp was just left behind. I just think garchomp fits more because it's known for being tragic even if it has solid rip. It needs lots of resources to do its thing. I don't entirely disagree with machamp, though. They have left the poor guy to rot. Gave it one buff that didn't do anything and ran away.
I have a friend that I duo queue with that only plays speedsters and all rounders and sometimes, it's really annoying when the other 3 people in the team also decide to go speedsters and all rounders and I have to carry the game as Umbreon. Also another thing, I can go into ranked (veteran 3), and have teamates like a leftovers Talonflame and Cinderace both laning in the bottom path getting destroyed by the enemy team, and yet when I go into casual, I get paired with green and blue medal Azumarils that help carry the game or I get bad players on both sides and do over 100k damage as EldeGOD. Pokemon Unite matchmaking am I right?
Thank you spragels! I don't think you remember me, I was active during some old streams and videos. I left for some time (I think a whole year and even more) because of my new job but I have time now to come back! Unfortunately my friends wont play and I have no idea of the new meta, Im used to pokemons up until before mew came out, so this really helps! I can buy 2/3 license so I can catch up a little (rip supporters they literally have 2 new mons only)
I might have to pick up Charizard even though I’m not a new player. I think what’s more important that the Pokémon you pick, is learning the macro of the game
Very glad to see this! Although, I would have recommended EXP Share Pikachu for certain situations. Of course, I'd make it clear that typically EXP Share should NEVER be run on non Defenders/Supporters. ...But if you're in solo play, no one else on the team is running EXP Share, and your lane partner is a "Pseudo-Legendary/Powerhouse" Pokémon with a three-stage evolution, I honestly think that EXP Share Pikachu is better than no EXP Share at all. MAYBE even better than a Defender/Supporter without EXP Share, but I'm a little hesitant to say for sure.
no no, youre 100% right! playing certain attackers like pikachu as exp share holding "pseudo supports" is legit. pikachu in particular is a perfect candidate for this role, as not only does it not evolve, but its starting moveset is already so solid during the laning phase that it can afford to sacrifice a bit of its early game exp to beef up a lane partner who could use some extra help. i love love love playing support pika 💚
@@darkling5780 100% I know it's counterintuitive puting EXP Share on something other than a Defender or Supporter, but Pikachu doesn't evolve and he gets his moves early at lvl 4 and 6 so if your partner is EXP hungry and you're uncomfortable with conventional support it's absolutely worth it.
@@darkling5780 It's not really meant to be the Attacker in a Attacker/Defender + All-rounder/Supporter composition. It's actually meant to replace the Supporter, and help the All-rounder level up more quickly. Do you have a duo partner you can try it with?
A tip for Slowbro that I never hear: the lower your hp, the more you will heal with amnesia. You also increase your defenses. Use this combo when low hp: Amnesia->heal->scald(->slow beam). Ult is obviously optional. You will be unkillable for a few seconds, as scald also decreases attack of enemies. And attack pokemon are, by far, most popular.
A lot of people like to play some defenders offensively if they're good at it. Basically just turning trevenant into an unkillable all-rounder because that's fun to play against :) (sarcasm).
@@ByLawsGoAndYell227 I know of goodra. It's literally the only fake defender. It's built like a brawler so you aren't wrong, but every other pokemon is a defender.
Sylveon is definitely a good Attacker pick for this video. I thought Espeon could easily be in here too because Stored Power is really easy to use and they overall feel like your classic Attacker. Psyshock can be good for when you feel up to aiming your ability and even Future Sight can be a decent mixup option so long as you're using it strategically.
Returning player, its been a LONG time since i played. I used to be a Talonflame main, looking to expand my skillset and your channel has been helping. Thanks!
Not really new or returning. But I just picked up a bunch of new licenses in the 3rd anniversary deals and this video has shown me a bunch of important details I never knew about some of these Pokémon.
I adore using basic attack eldegoss to rush and ko early game pokemon, though of course you shouldn't k-os expect most after the mid point, but it can still take out those low level enemies.
I'd use exp share more on defenders if it actually helped bad players doing better...Sadly it' s not the case. If you have a good lane partner, sure, it'll make them do even better. But they'd still have done good without me having exp share. However, if having a bad lane partner, exp share is pretty much useless because more often than not, even level advantage doesn't make them perform well. Great item when you know who you're playing with. But in my experience in soloQ sadly the benefit of having it is overall pretty mild. Or at least most of the times I sported it I regretted not having invested in a more selfish item in order to actually compensate the poor laning partners I've had.
@@spragels oh definitely. It’s basically always a very strong, if not meta, pick, and is arguably the best Pokemon to learn with. It isn’t insanely mechanically intensive, so you can also see what’s happening around you instead of focusing solely on combos or targeting key players, it’s a support which you never really get so you’re always filling a needed role, it has good damage, can play at range so you don’t have new players just feeding into the enemy team, its abilities don’t need much aim so again you can focus on what they’re actually doing and impacting instead of a more skill intensive Pokemon, its unite will always have impact no matter who it’s used on, it has so many good items and can have several emblem loadouts etc. If anyone asks me who to start playing the game with, my answer is 100% Eldegoss every time.
I’m a returning player but basically a new player. I play Leafeon jungle, Trevanant lane if my team needs a defender, & Cinderace lane if I’m feeling bored jungle if no one else takes it. Are these characters ok and do you guys have any tips?
Wouldn't rescue hood be a nice item for Clefable, too? I always use Exp Share, Rescue Hood and SpAtk Specs. When talking about Comfey you said this was one of the few Pokemon actually taking advantage of the hood. Just curious! Thanks for the vid! Not the newest player (been playing for a month or so) but eating your videos UP!
I'm literally coming back from season one I last remember lucario being an absolute dog I played my first game and Still did great for me, I'm buying mewtwo x or blaziken now
Me personally, I just started and I do best with all-rounders. I have Mimikyu and Charizard, and I pretty much have a 100% win rate, and I almost always get MVP. But I tend to struggle with pretty much any other role, they all just die too quickly for my liking.
Is spragels sick? I can kinda hear it from his voice. If it's true, hope u get better soon. Especially it's almost worlds. Gotta need to be 100% for it ;)
I don't think leafeon with solar blade is easy to play. It requires aiming, spacing, timing, patience. And it absolutely needs attack weight stacks. But to each their own
Could you try a game as carry Comfey please? It would be really funny to see you try to win by carrying your team with (arguably) the weakest Pokémon in Unite.
Oh for yall who been new to this game the past two weeks pick everything but charizard for a starter bc you get it for free in. Pokemon unite anniversary
I love trevennant i can tank all 5 of the enemies and im still like half its unite move sucks but i love it if you ever decide to play trevenant use wood hammer and horn drain its the best combo
I just got 5 ko thanks to opponents ho-oh he revived his all four teammates and I was waiting in brushes while charging overheat of blaziken and one shoted all four of them along with ho-oh 😅😅
Returning player as a noob. Whats going on with the new meta? Its been 3 days since i been back and i had all bot games till great 3. Then it was a major jump from bots to actually playing with people and the game flow was drastically different from what i was use to. The bot games did not help, i feel so out of place in great 3...
All wrong, the list should have been goodra in all roles. We don't need any of the other roles when we can self heal, chase opponent running away and get the kills we need. And if you disagree you're wrong
@@MusicComet it's not meant to be a bait, it's a joke. Personally I just bought goodra (returning after game's launch basically) and I think it's really good but I know the opinion the community has, I even watched the goodra effect video. Am I right? Probably not but I'll pretend I am.
Your trash if you have to use goodra just to win also they made it to overpowered in every aspect so therefore when ever I play a draft like match I ban goodra immediately bc I takes most of a team to kill it if you can’t dodge its moves
@@antonleftwich7472 You are pretty bad yourself if you think things like goodra or scizor or actually good. Their entire gimmick gets shut down by one item if you struggle that much.
You need to remake “how to win” videos. I know you’ve done that a lot but It seems every 6 months we get new players that don’t know how to micro/macro
my teammates seem to run from my eldegross ult and go to spawn after a fight even tho i have pollen puff that’ll heal them long before the next engage sighhh randoms nothing that makes me lose games because you can still very much carry even when they do that but a shame nonetheless
Blaziken and zoro are skill mons, do not recommend to newer players at the beginning. Something like talonflame/leafeon and lucario/gyarados (once you evolve) is more beginner-friendly imo. Hoopa is somewhat difficult with one build, might want wigglytuff or clefable instead. Also do not let them play mew, that's kind of the only one that's pretty hard tbh.
@@antonleftwich7472 I don't think it's gonna do much of anything, but I like to add my two cents to things. I agree on lucario but only for the Espeed build which most people don't really use anyway (I mean I do but shhh). Besides, there's not that many all-rounders that are easy except for just one build on some of them tbh. Azu is great, but aqua tail can be difficult for some. Machamp is actually really good for beginners, but since he was left in the dust he barely does any damage without real effort. I wholeheartedly agree with ceruledge, though. Gyarados has a really easy and strong build but his leveling is very gimmicky and not good for beginners (hence my fine print in parentheses).
You didn't realy put in mewtwoY as a beginner pokemon? MewtwoY needs Tons of skill in the current meta because there are Tons of stuns and so on...mewtwoY lets beginners overrate them self and junp into enemies and so on
Absolutely! That is if you enjoy their playstyle. I personally wouldn't buy an EX for their strength, but to each their own. You might not want to do that if you do want to buy them for their strength, though.
This video: exist Pokemon unite player: i'll pretend that this video doesn't exist and let me kill opponents with my +30 leftover, wise glasses potion charizard
Nah I think he is right about mewtwo y because spamming the A button is the best way to learn about the attacker role before learning the complicated ones.. I rather see a teammate who spams the A button then these delphox and gardevior that does NOTHING sometimes
Greninja is high skilled? I get zoroark, but GRENINJA? i nearly mastered his full kit in like a month ive been playing, and his like no.4 on my favorite with 60 something games ive been with it, while here i am at master, still horrible at t-tar
@@darkling5780 never said i mastered it, im close though, im saying that cuz i use greninja from ultra 1 to master when we lack attacker his skills(or i should say his overall kit) is easy to understand, and easy to execute, the only thing you have to be good at is your timing and positioning(like most auto attackers)
