@@roachdogg-ex bro what do you mean, if you follow melee at all you’d understand it had been forever since m2k had one a super major and this was massive for him cementing himself as a god of the game
axe is the greatest. he seems like such a cool guy. him and amsa seem like they play for fun and to make friends, which imo is the best part of esports.
@@odstagent1070 i have been pointing out for a long time that his biggest weakness is the cross up crossup, where you cross him up constantly until the one time you dont, which is all that is required to beat fox. I now see the secret anti double cross up technique that goes beyond foxes normal ability
@@KuroShiiiro idk. it makes it less badass when your jersey is a size small and your lovehandles are almost leaking out of it. I love playing smash but the community is guaranteed cringe im ngl.
Axe winning his first major was my favorite. It was the first time I teared up watching someone win a tournament. Those who have been following Melee all these years can relate.
13:10 fun fact about this popoff - Tea stomped on his glasses as they fell off. People taped them back together so he could still play 💀 I also broke my fire sunglasses at the same time while i was in the front row lmfao Eventually someone had the same prescription glasses that they then borrowed the rest of the event iirc
When hbox finally beat armada after all that time his reaction speaks volumes. Armada had to fist bump and hbox didn't rub it in. Great moment in smash history
@@LexLoTUStheGawd i think its called l'odyssee. It was a french tournament. Just search for it plus tea vs cosmos and you'll find it. (Its the winner semis, not grands one)
8:10 forever one of my favorite pop offs of all time bro. ESAM defeating his demon in the hugest tournament at the time, releasing all his energy in celebration and then just staring at the crowd, the camera work goes stupid hard
Esam's popoff at the end of Glitch 7 (both winners finals and grands) and Glitch Konami Code (grands) both are extremely notable. Two where Esam goes absolutely crazy, screaming his lungs out, and one where he simply just puts his arms out as if gesturing "Bow down to your new king!" Unfortunately, that ended up being a weaker season for Esam
I would have added: Ultimate: - Riddles vs Dabuz at Super Smash Con 2019 - Anathema vs Zomba at Rise 'N Grind - T vs Dabuz at 2GG: Kongo Saga - Puppeh vs ZD at Glitch 8 - Missingno Melee: - aMSa vs Mang0 at The Big House 10 - Axe vs Silent Wolf at EVO 2014 - HugS vs aMSa at GENESIS 5 - HungryBox vs PPMD at The Big House 3 - Mew2King vs HungryBox at The Big House 3 - Hax vs Leffen at Apex 2013 Smash 4: - Seagull Joe vs ZeRo at The Big House 5 - DarkShad vs ZeRo at GameTyrant Expo 2017 - FOW vs RAIN at EVO 2015 - FOW vs Wizzrobe at PAX Arena - K9sbruce vs MVD at Pound 2016 - Poyo vs Seagull Joe at S@X 108
5:55 11:11 these are my 2 favorite popoffs in melee history. no theatrics or jumping around, just a release of raw frustrated energy after defeating the most annoying character in the game.
n0ne vs M2K at GOML was my favorite not cause of n0nes pop off but the stipulation that a falcon beating m2ks sheik in years was so hype and everyone in the crowd filled up the stage
Bro, I’m mostly an ult fan, I watch melee if I’m bored and stuff, and it’s entertaining, but there’s a reason there’s a significant imbalance in ultimate va melee in this video, the history, drive and lore that is generated by having people perfect a craft for over a decade is pretty untouchable. I think Ult can get there, but we just need to not have our game replaced with a new one in like a year.
Couldn’t watch the video after the first 3 seconds because I went on mission to remember what Wii channel that music came from. I’m finally back to watch the video.
