I also have the black one on my Mini 2. It's a completely different drone with the propellers on it. I have been using master airscrew for 4 years now and they have never disappointed me. On my Air 2S I am the black, orange and blue. I can only say to others, buy them, they are safe.
I purchased two sets (just in case I crash and break just one propeller and would have to put all the old ones back on) and did notice they are quieter. I had watched another fellow on youtube install his and he reused the original screws so like an old fool I did the same. They did not spin as freely and when I tested them today I received a warning that an extra payload was detected. I took them off and used the screws Master AirScrew included with the props and they spin freely. I couldn't tell if they are longer screws as I'm old and they are so tiny, but they made a big difference in how freely they spin. Will test them again tomorrow. Thanks for all your videos - I really enjoy them.
I really like and appreciate that you take an honest, neutral position when demonstrating and giving explanations. Then at conclusion you give us your opinion. Thanks.
I have them on my Mavic Air 1st Gen , Air 2S and Mini 2. Definitely change the pitch for sure. The perform well at high altitudes as well. I flew all last week on vacation in the Colorado mountains with the highest elevation being over 9300 ft. They performed as well as the factory props or better. Oh! Mine had a bit of locktite on the new screws when I changed them out. Great video!
To be honest you are worth watching, i wonder if dji and other companys know how much they can gain from your channel, you are real and what you do fits you perfect, hello from greece
I think you missed the point, and a MASSIVE point at that. Yep its quieter. But the big thing here you missed even though you pointed it out is this. You flew out over water, Lets just say your battery is dieing, I reckon one minute could possibly be going on speed 100yards, MASSIVE difference of getting you drone back or going into the sea/Lake/river. That alone is worth buying the blades the rest is a bonus . I bought the ORANGE ones after looking up the best props for the mini. Everybody came back with the same answer Master Airscrew. Just one thought though if this did as I mean the Mini2 and it crashed nothing to do with the blades would DJI CARE FRESH renege on the grounds of their blades was not in use? Just a thought. Thanks for sharing Ray K UK YNWA.
I'm interested in getting some of these, mostly for the quieter sound and brighter colours for ease of finding my drone if ever I crash or lose it in undergrowth. Thank you for sharing, your video was very helpful.
@@GetBusyLiving Good to know, more and more of Canada is becoming restricted to fly in. I recon once they have flying cars and such, we won't be able to fly our drones at all unless we use stealth haha
Thanks for your good advice !! Noise is something that worries me especially when I fly my Mini 2. I was surprised to see in your video how noise is reduced with these propellers. I have already ordered black ones through your link. I hope they won't be long in coming to try them. Best regards from Granada, Spain 👋
Thanks Juan Fco. Moriana Ávila, I appreciate that! 😊 I must be honest I was very surprised myself! Thank you for watching, and for taking the time to comment 🙏
2AM watching some Mavic Mini content. Had this one my list, excelent video mate just ordered a pair for mine thanks to you also beautiful scenery you're flying in!
Mike you bring up a good point about when I store the drone. Because the props are a slight larger they may be getting the trips bent when I put on the prop cover. Maybe they will straighten so I can put them back on the drone. Thanks Mike.
@@GetBusyLiving I will keep you up dated. We are into our winter mode now, (snow and all) so I can't fly everyday. I put the Master Airscrew props back in the original package and maybe they will straighten out if the tips are bent. I would imagen they are pretty precise pitch and might not take much to get them out of pitch.
Mike, I bought a set about a month ago. The pitch difference is the biggest advantage. No real difference in loudness or flight time. It might be a little quicker to top speed and a little more stable in wind, but the speed is limited by the drone firmware. I just ordered a newly introduced yellow set.
Might get a yellow set for my MA2. They look sharp, and would stand out with the Flame skin I have on it. Love the Air 2, just not a huge fan of DJI's putty grey theme. Considered painting one of my DJI quads, but disassembly is a pain, and paint scratches off too easily. Vinyl Skins are the way to go.
The issue I had with them is getting errors with a few sets. Had to break out a jewelers scale and found the issue. Easily solved with sand paper. On your bird problem: One day I watched birds going after each other and they 99% of the time were snipping at tail feathers. I the got some cheap party paper ribbon from the dollar store and taped about a 1" wide x 4 feet long from the bottom. Walla, they would snip the ends and left the drone alone.
Even the flymore kit comes with some of the pre-dried blue loctite on the 3 replacement screws included in each bag of 2 props. Personally had an idiot move landing on a table with slotted holes and it didn't like that, landed freaked out on the skip backwards shot up and I killed it. Anyway, if they come with loctite already on them, it's 10000% worth the 6-7 bucks at the hardware store to get a fresh bottle, scrub the old off and make sure there is actual thread contact on curing with a liquid application (not too much, you really don't need as much as you think)
I've got a red set on my Air 2 with a Metal Flame skin - it looks sharp. I can't go back to stock anymore, the pitch alone is annoying and the MA2 is a quiet drone to begin with.
They look great. I was going to buy a set the other day. But to my horror, the postage cost was more than double the price of the props alone. Will shop around. 🙂👍
@@no15minutecities Perhaps I was just lucky with timing. I ordered mine on sept 4th and the total cost including shipping was $28 US. I think I must have got in before the christmas shopping rush, and the high demand for shipping due to ordering online? I just went and stepped through the ordering process again and the total is now $65US!
I went for the black color too. For 2-3 early flights, the movement of the props was kinda stiff. But then it's performed great! Oh ya, already asked The DJI service center in my country. They said if the drone happens to crash when using a 3rd party propeller, it will automatically void the warranty. I don't know about other country's terms by DJI's. Anyway, very nice videos. Thanks!
Unless your providing DJI with video of the crash, or are foolish enough to TELL them, there is literally no way for them to KNOW 3rd party props were involved.
I looked at getting a couple of sets over the weekend but as USPS is not delivering down to NZ at present, the postage quote was an eyewatering 97 - 101 USD! Will wait till things settle a bit!
Well worth it mate! Yes, I am using the Rode Wireless Go, with the Rode Lavalier Go - works really well with the Osmo Action 👍- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8VuMMpHR2a8.html
Defo tempted to get these just for the noise reduction as they do sound quieter, but what will DJI do in the event of a warranty claim I wonder. Also jealous that you have flying weather as it’s wind and rain in the U.K.
@@jcflying8763 Depends how good their claims dodging team it. If it truly decreases motor rpm for a given thrust they could see it in the history of the graphs maybe
The stealth props come with screws that already have threadlock attached. As with the dji replacement props and screws too. Bought my props based off your review! Thanks from Louisville! Don’t mind the comment above, these props come with blue thread lock on the 8 screws with the MAS props. Happy flying!
I recently received two sets for my Air 2S being orange and black. Your video prompted me to do a test this afternoon in my house out of interest, for this I downloaded Sound Meter to my Android phone to get a decibel reading......this is on the ground only at this stage. I was very surprised by the results to the contrary; my originals (and DJI in Melbourne say they are the quietest) hovered between 65 and 68 decibels so I will call it at 66 while my new organge set I have called in at 73 decibels so that result are not a win for them. I will however to a more comprehensive test during the week. Cheers.
good if lots of people are nearby but I find sometimes its easier to hear the mini 2 than to see it if a very gray sky we have most the time in UK. but I would like to try these.
I recently ordered these propellers with the expectation that they would be quieter and more efficient than the stock DJI propellers. Sadly, this was not the case. During tests, the propellers were .4db(ground/idle) and .5db(flight) louder than the stock propellers. These propellers actually caused me to use roughly 6% more battery and required 4 more amps than the stock propellers when flying the same route and altitude on a windless day. Regardless of the technical results of my test, the propellers were very stiff upon attaching them to the drone. This did not allow the propellers to move freely at all. However, I did get a full refund with no questions asked.
If you memory is like mine you'll forget to check the screws one day, lose a prop, and crash your Mini 2. I recommend you put Locktight on those screws.
Mike I am a sucker, I saw your video on these props and bought them. Well the only thing that was true was a lower prop noise, all other claims ? Anyway I got Master Airscrew props in red. They came with screwdriver and screws. Very nicely packaged.
Yeah the other claims are very hard to measure for people like you and me, anyway if they do offer those benefits that's a bonus because I just got them for the lower noise 👍
I have seen a couple of posts on the Master Air Props - So could not help myself to get a set of Hi Vis Orange Props - hopefully they make there way to Oz before I take my drone on travel dutys
Ok... We know they are quieter. But that means they are doing something aerodynamically different. HOW IS THE HANDLING??? Faster, slower than the OEM blades? Response and accuracy, particularly in tight spaces????
great test mate, yeah i saw when you first powered it up i really couldnt hear anything! but its a slow rotation sat there, as you took off i could tell the tone was lower makes a good difference for sure...will you now have stealth mode from bird strikes??🦆🦆 ..we,ll see, but i think i,ll pick up a set , i dont usually fly near people but just being more quiet can only help with disturbing quiet places and wildlife ect ..cool 😀
These would be useful for me. I have on occasion filmed horses and even at about 80metres horses are visible paturbed by the sound of the mini 2 with the standard props.
I tried with DB measurements in multiple conditions. In the end hardly any difference to the originals. I also tried two different packs. Flying time exactly the same. I was disappointed to be honest.
I could hear my MA when the drone hovered above me even at 80m/ 240ft or came to approach for landing already about 50m+/150ft+ from the side in outside tests. Same as my oems. Bottom line if you can hear it, so can everyone else. As one lady came up to me when testing in a park, sounds like a swarm of bees. I think anything that reduces noise should literally do more than 50% reduction, whatever the pitch. There are manufactures getting there now. 2% is hardly a margin for anything if you expect noise reduction right?
Your Lack of experience with the holding power of the screws after replacing propellors clearly shows me you don’t Crash Enough. Maybe I try to fly around trees too much. I even have Super Glue and Baking Soda helping to hold my bird together. I will be ordering a set of these props, they did appear to be quieter to me also. I will have to be extra careful as I have a damaged ear, so I don’t her well out that side. Once even in bright sun light while watching the screen my Mavic Drone flew into the side of my head. Ouch. Pretty area.
Yeah I must admit I am pretty shit at crashing 🤣 Ha ha my wife says I have two damaged ears (I'm a bit deaf), but not so deaf that I couldn't hear a difference with these props! No mate, to be fair I got all of that out of my system with my Spark!
Mate.. $12.17 for the propellers and $51.41 for delivery = $63.58 Heck no! Is there anywhere else we can buy these puppies? Great video by the way very cool. - Pete, Auckland.
Yeesh that's jumped up! When I got mine they were $28 including chipping. Not that I know of mate, Amazon have some of their products, maybe the shipping through them might be cheaper?
@@GetBusyLiving In fairness mate they did get back to me today telling me the usual couriers have RED listed Australia and New Zealand and can only ship through UPS and DHL. They suggest to wait a while and buy through the Amazon link they sent, or wait until the RED listing for NZ is lifted. I will give it a day or two and try Amazon. (y) :)
@@trkadventures It's a bit nuts eh and very volatile. I ordered something from Amazon (USA) last Monday, and it arrived yesterday!?? That's 8 days, I looked and it came via Kansas City! I've ordered things from here in Auckland and I'm still waiting two weeks later ha ha 🤣
@@GetBusyLiving I'm taking my mini on a whirlwind tour of New Zealand with my motorhome (North and South Island) and from the looks of your video (thank you) those blades will come in handy! I will do a review on them as well once I have them fitted.
@@trkadventures Nice! The South Island should be ok, but good luck getting through Waikato/Auckland/Northland mate, unless you are an essential worker and making you're rolling out vaccinations! 😊
The screws should be replaced each time with the props. Alot of the kits include screws. that blue stuff is a loc-tite type product that comes on new screws.
I use blue Locktite threadlocker 242 on my screws and it gives me piece of mind. Not sure if it affects the warranty, so maybe check that out first. LOL
Hey Mike,In the add for MAS the black blades they look like they have a white edge on them, do they. I think the orange ones would look great on your drone, kinda colour coordinated.
I used the original DJI screws for these props and they were too tight and didn't spin freely. Also got a message during second test flight that extra payload was detected. I replaced the original screws with the ones supplied by Master Airscrew and the props spin freely now.
Hi Mike just watched video about the master aircrew prop and have ordered a set. What my flymy mavic says about the weather is wind and rain all over the UK so will just have watch your videos. One question Mike what is your opinion about fitting caps to the motors.
Personally I would be worried about heat buildup by covering the motors ,but that’s just me I figure someone above my pay grade decided they needed not to be covered lol
Yeah great question Drew - I have thought about that but concluded that if they needed to b covered and they could be, then DJI would have done it, so I haven't looked into it any further.
You're right, it is a little picky. 🤣 Trust me you have nothing to worry about. The Mini 2 weights less than 249g, so even if these propellers were TRIPLE the weight of the original props you would still be well under 250g. 👍
I've got a Mini 2, and am looking at the Master Airscrew Stealth props. They claim lower noise and better performance due to improved efficiency. My question is, what does Master Airscrew know that DJI doesn't know? If there are efficiency gains to be made, why didn't DJI make them when they designed the props? DJI is a much bigger company, with far more resources than Master Airscrew. What is the tradeoff Master Airscrew is making that DJI chose not to make?
I have the same doubt. I have ordered the propellers for my Mini 2 and am waiting to receive them. But I really have a hard time understanding that there are companies that are capable of improving a DJI product. I assume that DJI is not particularly interested in reducing the sound of the drone by 2 decibels. Something similar happens with third-party applications (for example Litchi) that offer many more options than the DJI Fly app and therefore DJI has not thought to improve it. All the best.
simple, price, these might cost .20 usd more than stock, given that they make thousands of these it would make the drone cost a bit more to make up for that investment
@@CorruptedKarma Why would they cost more to produce? They are both just plastic molded parts. I don't think they are bigger, or require more material.
Anyone else have a mini panic attack at around the 9:00 mark thinking the drone was about to fly into the bushes? No? Just me?..I’ll go back under my rock.
