I use a Dualsense Edge that I modded to have extremerate clicky dpad/face buttons, Custom64 PS2 retro glossy black dpad and face buttons as a replacement, and 2000mAh LOSONCOER battery made for the Dualsense Edge controller from AliExpress. Took a lot of love to take apart and making the adjustments, and it’s getting plenty of love playing with it for 8+ hour sessions.
Hey Kevin, Have tried the Thunderbot G50s. Bought this on a whim and it looked too good to be true. It's actually an awesome controller! Check it out! Peace x
For all my European viewers, Rocket games is for me personally the best PS5 controller customizer. I have a lot of controllers especially every controller mentioned in this Video and the main problem for all of these companies is that u don't know if these controllers will ship without being tested. I have multiple controllers from Rocket games 7 to be exact and not a single one has jitter on the hall effect sticks or other QC problems and I have them all for a minimum of a year and they literally have any pro controller feature u can imagine. Definitely can recommend them if u want a controller that is most likely not broken before u put a finger on it. To be fair these controllers r pretty expensive but not more than all of the controllers mentioned in this Video.
Right now im using ExtremeRate back paddle attachment which for the price (£40 on sale) are amazing. If i get stick drift I'll remove the attachment and get a replacement one as I have 3 year warranty (£9) on the controller.
Really hope to see an up to date Xbox controller centered vid on this topic 🙏 my elite 2 is getting on its last leg and hoping that the elite 3 comes out with wayyyyy better QC or aim adds the Hall effects stick option for their Xbox controllers 😩 but I love the content man keep up with the amazing work 💜
@@GamerHeavenOfficial thank you and I have seen this vid and that’s why I was highly considering Aim for a good while and I do already have an elite 2 but it’s getting deteriorated to the point I should start looking for another one to replace it when it fully isn’t really usable anymore. And just curious if there any other contenders I could consider at this point in time :3 💜
I buyed victrix but im scared cause i cant swappe out the modules or am i wrong? i need hallsticks to provide sticjk drift. if the nacon pro rev 5 gets stick drift you fucked up cause support team ist bad. I will take the edge, but idk about razer? So i iwll send the nacon and razer back maybe the victrix also if they didnt have the issue with stick drift and swap out the module, which could be a reason to keept it. cause i saw a couple of videos that you have to buy a new controller victrix cause you cant change modules. maybe somebody can give me advices about that
I currently have the Sony dual sense edge that cost 200$ and only ever playing with stock controllers before this one I can say it’s a massive improvement. I love the comfort and ergonomics. Only thing I wish is they had an options for 4 back buttons. I buy at Best Buy get the warranty and return for replacement at the cost of the warranty. So I pay 50$ every year and half for a new controller. Being I only have to invest 50$ for a controller I love, I can allocate a budget for a different pro controller. Thanks for all the info!!! It’s a lot to take in but well worth the watch.
Dude that is a hell of a deal on the $50 swap ahroo , I had never heard of a program like that but very nice. I bought my series S from Best Buy, and I’ve heard a good things about their customer support. I hope that dual sense edge serves you and your family for many games to come
I got an aim controller, with hal effect and I had stick drift with 20mins of owning the controller. Then The left stick seems off centered as well. It responds in a millisecond if not faster moving back but then a split delay moving forward, first day of owning one I was very very disappointed.
I've been in the market for a new PS controller, im currently rocking the dual sense edge and I have absolutely 0 complaints/issues with it even after a year of every day use but I am looking for a 4 back button design controller. That phantom controller from hex looks awesome and im excited for that to drop. I think I've mentioned before but I've seen Nagashock as one of those smaller brands that does full custom builds as well as this Canadian company smalltechgaming, would love to see reviews on this "outside the norm" brands
Funny enough, the Nacon controller looks the most interesting to me, as it is the only one without an xbox/ps5 style controller shape. The lower grips look more round and bulbous like a ps4 controller
Can I just say I absolutely hate the paddles that they put on controllers They are ugly and feel awful to use Which is obviously preference but idk I feel like it's worth mentioning as he mentions that it's like part of the reason you get a custom controller anyway which I do not agree with at all
Nice to finally see a comparison video of all the PS5 controllers! I've honestly been on the fence whether I should get a Carbxn, the new Victrix Pro BFG (Xbox version with the vibration) or wait for the PC to support the Dualsense Edge. So many choices, but oh so expensive.
@@GamerHeavenOfficial Currently the Edge is only supported natively on SIE titles starting with The Last of Us Part 1, Returnal, Horizon Forbidden West. The normal Dualsense is supported across more games. i.e. Jedi Survivor on PC via EA Play recognises the original Dualsense but there's been no official support for the Edge. The lack of native support for Dualsense Edge and configuring it without having a PS5 is what's stopped me from buying one
Do not buy from battle beaver & modded zone controllers. I bought from both companies & their quality is trash. Battle beaver I bought two, the first controller one my back buttons started not working & I only had that controller for 3 months. So I bought another one because I really like that you could customize the back buttons where you want them to be located so your fingers are naturally there. No other companies that I found could do that. So when I got the second battle beaver controller the face buttons on the controller stopped working. I couldn’t press anything on the face button only the thumb sticks & that controller only lasted two months. Customer service was terrible. But not worst than the modded zone & their controller built was even worst. I got my controller in the mail I played it the next day & I already had stuck drift & sometimes my right analog stick didn’t respond when I pushed it. Sometimes it would go off on it’s on when I’m not even touching the right analog stick. When I called customer service he told me that I had to show proof that my controller was not working properly & told me to send a video. If I don’t show proof I wouldn’t be able to get it fix & I bought the one year warranty. How messed up is that even though I bought the warranty I wouldn’t be able to get it fixed if I didn’t show them proof & I told them how am I supposed to show them proof when it just does it out of no where. It doesn’t end there I wrote a review about their company & he calls me the right after I got off the phone with him. He told me I saw that you wrote a bad a review about us would mind taking it down before I refund you your money. Like how shady is that in order to get my refund I need to take off that bad review that I wrote. So don’t buy from modded zone & if anyone knows a company who has good quality controller because I’m still in a search for one can please comment on this. I would appreciate it.
Yeah I heard enough about modded zone that I wouldn’t even consider it. I got the edge controller. Stick drift In both sticks it can be fixed by putting in new sticks. The rubber started to separate from the controller though. I purchased this in January so I’m not too impressed about that. Thought about purchasing a scuf
Hi there. Great video full of fantastic information. Can you please advise on a couple things of you don't mind. Number 1 what are the absolute best haul effect modules and would you recommend over normal default joystick modules. I hear the halls have more input delay and lag. Number 2. Can you recommend the best company to spec out a default ps5 controller. I would like hall effects modules, the biggest battery upgrade they would for in the default ps5 controller with being modified. And the best non slip rear grip. Many thanks in advance
Those buttons on the carbon controller look perfect, the circle ones on the back of the handle, man that looks awesome. I've been thinking that would be the perfect place for a remapable l3 and r3 button. I'm gonna send this to some of the chinese companies and ask them to implement them on their offerings like flydigi and gulikit.
I recommend trying out the Carbxn Xbox controller. Choosing the 4 remappable buttons on the Xbox version are actually ergonomically placed and I have to say, the Xbox Carbxn controller is easily the best controller I’ve ever used. The PS5 version I don’t like the button placement but Xbox version is amazing! I hope to see a review for the Xbox version for your audience
Attention errrbody! I’m telling yall right now I Love ❤️ GamerHeaven and his critiques are FAIR!!! But wait one minute 👂🏾 hear me out “Cinch Gaming!!!!!!” Controllers are the 💩 shi💩 ok the 4 back buttons are close once you get used to that!!! I PROMISE you get better instantly. Cinch grip plus MOUSE CLICK triggers and action buttons. It’s UP !!!! Trust me
I own a aim controller ( bought 2 in the past 6 months ) and depending on when you got your Aim Controllers they might have been good but they definitely don’t deserve to be 1st, they have so many flaws and the QC is so bad now that honestly I wish I just spent the little extra more for another scuf. My first one ( both with Hall effect sticks ) came with instant stick drift , dpad didn’t work, right stick stopped working a hour after using it, and the mute button (ps5) didn’t work so I sent it back and it took a month but I got a replacement. The 2nd one still has stick drift , dpad doesn’t work still, and mute button is a 50/50 but it hasn’t broke fully in the first 2 weeks and this is 2 separate controllers and 2 separate builders both by aim , just save yourself a headache and go with scuf
I’m sorry that you’ve had a negative experience, that sounds very frustrating. I do wanna make it perfectly clear to anyone that just browses the comment section but doesn’t watch the video, that aim is not first place! I mention it in the verdict as a controller that I’ve been able to consistently recommend for over three years now, and hear way more positive experiences than occasional stinkage like what happened with Hudson.
Have been digging up controllers from your channel for a while now to find a low budget one with an audio port😅 that can work on multiple platform thanks for the reviews
Would like a piece of your thoughts for the gamesir g8 galileo for mobile controller or is there better and will be lookin at your review at the gulikit kingkong series thanks😅
Thats what i wanted to add i know your amercian an so but rocket games is the shit its high quality and good ergonomics its just perfect to its last detail thats europe standards For ya
For me, there just aren't a lot of options with mechanical dpad and mechanical face buttons so I went with extremerate. Now I have clicky dpad, clicky face buttons, custom color shell and buttons, and an upgraded battery from ifixit. I did break a cable while disassembling/reassembling but I found a replacement cable on amazon as well. So I think custom is the way to go. Only thing I can't really do is hall effect sticks...But all this for only about $60 more and some extremely easy DIY skills(no soldering needed). There are also mod kits for clicky triggers and back buttons. I'm also not a back button guy, but maybe GH will convert me one day. :P Not only that but I didn't lose any functionality, still got adaptive triggers and all the good stuff the regular controller provides. Edit: this was last year though. I can see that a lot of these sites now offer mechanical buttons and dpad. But I don't think anybody offers upgraded battery packs still.
My most waited video from you captain! still rocking the stock controller. Thinking about either Aim controller or Edge. Leaning more to edge just cause its from Sony themselves , accesories are lacking but they just know how to make good products lol, will wait for more future news or if edge ever has a discount ! Haha
Damn you have to buy not only the modded control but the individual mods.... Just a tad greedy lol great vid brother! I know you're not a phone gamer but do you plan on ever doing a backbone style control video??
Dude you really are the best in the business! I’ve bought 3 Xbox pro controllers all based on your reviews and they’ve all be true to my experience. Keep it up brother!
One thing I have not been able to identify regarding Scuf Reflex Pro and Hex Phantom - do they have mechanical / “digital” / mouse click d-pad and face buttons?
@@GamerHeavenOfficial Idk where you live but Pennsylvania shipping speeds are incredible. I ordered a week before Christmas last year without expedited shipping and it came the day before. Plus the great discounts and countless best in class things about them makes them easily number 1 for me.
The durability of scufs aren’t the best. But the instant triggers are far superior to that of the dual sense controller. I had the dual sense for a couple of days. It does the job but I could tell the delay when I hit the triggers. Went through the settings and setup my dead zones. Worked pretty well but for 200 bucks I just went with scuff. For FPS games hair triggers are better. Overall, the dual sense probably works well for just about any type of gamer.
@@GamerHeavenOfficial I only just found out about em as well mate. Their layout on the back paddles look good though, positioning wise. You should take a look when you can mate they have some vids on TikTok and other social platforms. I believe they’re from the UK. I ordered one to see how it goes after 3 long good years of my battle beaver
A call of duty ranked player said that hall effect controllers are less effective with aim asisst than analog, do you think this is realistic based off your knowledge of controllers?
Do not purchase Aim in the EU. I got bonus stick drift out of the box and a glitchy touchpad. Do not buy Aim EU. Spend your hard earned cash elsewhere. Also almost took them 8 weeks to build it. 😅
I am currently at the stage where my HYPR Sognature FPS is in transit on the way back to them … just less than 4 months of ownership and it has drift on the left stick. So far this process has been amazing (obv not Amazon amazing but pretty damn close). I’ll let you know IF and WHEN I get a replacement how the whole saga went . Love the videos Kevin; they do make my day that little bit more fun!
Fun fact for anyone buying an aim controller. If you spec out the controller like he does in the video, with his coupon code it'll be $263 out the door. If you skimp on the digital face buttons you pay $260 out the door with the coupon code. Long story short, your basically getting a $40 add on for $3. Do it! Same goes for a the hall sticks. You pay basically the same price either way with the coupon because the discount scales. I love my edge, but it needs more rear buttons for shooter or DayZ, and I've gone through 4 scufs, they seem so fragile. So I'm gonna give aim a try. Thanks for the info
All I need is ps5 + pc controller, all buttons are mouse click, hall effect + adjustment of thumbs tick tension, and good ergonomic back buttons/paddles that does not dramatically change your grip (e.g. Scuf is no good!, edge is great.) IS THAT TOO MUCH????
This vid is gold for ps5 fps gamers 🏆 💯 I’m gonna try Budds/Bcau mods DS edge stick module (increased tension). I have a BB controller and love the additional stick tension but my Right Triggers keeps malfunctioning on me.
Are there any PS5 controllers with 4 back paddles that fit perfectly with your middle and ring fingers like the Xbox Elite 2 controller??? Please I need help because I'm about to get a ps5 and I really need a really good controller with that and mouse click triggers. Anyone in the comments please help, the paddles gotta fit the fingers perfect.
If the Wolverine V3 features TMR sticks (or at least Hall, the good kind), real mechanical buttons responsive and 1000hz low latency, I don't see how it could possibly be beat. PS5 DuaSense with swapped sticks has been a dream of mine with these premium features forever now.
Do you know of any good clicky/mechanical DPad controllers? Similar to ExtremeRate without me modding it myself. I have been looking all over the internet for a good Fighting Game controller with the PS layout. Also, I would like to remove the Sticks and replace them with buttons (L3 and R3). Any suggestions?
Is there any controller that can make it where I can program and combine 2 buttons to 1 back button. For instance r1+l1 to a back paddle button? The reason why is predecessor on console makes you have to pull both bumpers at the same time to use your ultimate and sometimes it misses because hitting both at the same time mid fight can be complicated
Thanks for the info. So much more informative than listening to these professional young gamers. I'm stunned stupid a lot a gamers can not tell a decent story about the controllers they're using. Subbed!
It's one thing i wish the ps5 would do. Have better controller options. I really wanted hall effect modules and there are no below 200$ options. Scuff and hypr are just a normal dualsense that's made to be overpriced. 3rd parties like Nacon don't come with rumble or adaptive trigger. I could just bite the bullet and buy the Edge and change the joystick module every 3 months like a sucker. But then i found a shop that could change my original dualsense stick module with a hall effect one for a good price. It's been a good experience since then, the battery still sucks obviously but at least it's not broken anymore
Viticulture is useless , infact no one should waste any extra money on a controller, use the one that comes with the console, look at the top pro players see what they use a stock controller, seriously, also dude you made an 0ver an hour long video on controllers wow 😂
Hey captain! I'm wondering if you have a list with all the controllers you reviewed sorted by features? I have watched almost all of your videos but can't really find a "complete" controller primarily for PC that has all the features I'd want. - 2.4ghz wireless connection - Hall effect sticks - Decent 4 way dpad for fighting games - Hall effect and tactile triggers (like DS5 but hall effect) - HD rumble/haptic feedback - Good gyro/sixaxis - Xinput and Dinput modes - Official magnetic charging dock (doesn't have to be included) - Software that allows launching programs with a macro on PC I don't care about anything else. Do you know of such a unicorn?
The battle beaver with no rear buttons are for guys like me. I want a pad for fighting games so I have no need for rear buttons. I just need switches on the d-pad, face buttons and shoulder buttons
Were fairly new to the pro controller scene but were growing from strength to strenth maybe we can sort you a pad for a review we offer back button options similar to hyper with the buttons and paddle options and calibrated hall effect sticks etc dm me for more info
I love the edge but iv had 2 and the right paddle broke on both i took 1 apart and seen that the button hinge is made with cheap plastic so im not getting another 1
Great video dude, I'm still rocking my DS Edge controller, managed to buy a couple stick modules at my local game store, haven't had to use them yet but it's always good to be ready for that day lol.
@@damazsta I got mines from my local game shop/store called Game in the UK, had to go two separate days because they only had 1 at the time then got the second a month later, still have used them yet, you might be able to get them online or PS store?
I got a skuff and aim controllers. The aim feels nicer in hand imo. I got the Hall effect on my aim which mine messed up within 2 weeks and I had to send it back. I love the idea of Hall effect analog sticks but I feel like the bugs aren’t completely worked out yet.
Be careful of the term "lifetime" in regards to warranties. "Lifetime" has no legally consistent definition. Most people assume "lifetime" means forever, but it can be defined by the manufacturer to mean almost anything that is convenient to their bottom line. For example my video card died after a couple of months of use. No problem, it has a "lifetime" warranty. In this case the manufacturer defined "lifetime" as "sales lifetime", and since this particular model was no longer sold it had NO WARRANTY.
Budds controller is the best Hall effect ps5 controller you can get. Back buttons are 1000x ergonomic than bb, cinch, and hypr. I’ve broke my cinch, and aim controller 3x. Haven’t even had it for a year, and I switch controllers every month lol. I have an aim, scufs, TB stealth ultra, bb, hypr, cinch, modded zone, and budds. Despite the customization for budds he sends you a solid controller that’ll get you through everything. Besides the TB stealth ultra (which is an Xbox controller, I don’t even like Xbox) Budds is the best controller I’ve received with Hall effect sticks for a ps5 controller.
Plus Budds is located in Australia. I live in Franklin nc. I received my controller in 2 weeks. Took 4 weeks with bb- not to mention when I got the controller they accidentally added tension so I sent it back, and they stole my protective case I sent it back in with, but they swore it didn’t come with one. Luckily I took pictures of me packaging it because they would have made me buy another one. All these controller companies look pretty but promise they aren’t worth a f*ck
I just got my brand new scuf back from an exchange and I still have issues with the rear paddles sticking. I'm seriously thinking of switching to AIM. Who's got horror stories? Tell them, I want honest opinions.
Well shoot if you ask for negative feedback on anything you’ll find people to give it to you 😆. Just saying if you’re asking for “horror stories”, the same 6 unhappy people who comment on every aim video will chime in orrrr you can watch the reviews on my channel where I actually test the controllers and review them after dozens of hours of stick time.
The dual sense is an amazing controller but anyone using it regualrly with a straight face is lying to himself. That symmetrical thumbstick layout will always be vastly inferior. Its so awkaward and straining on your thumbs that it almost single handedly keeps me on xbox✌️
I use dualsense edge for my pc/ps5, got an update today about my Hypr controller and I believe it'll be here within 5 business days. Pretty quick turn around, so I'll be testing that really hard when I get it
My issue with the DS is the shape. After trying a bunch of them I kept the Victrix (replaced thumsticks with hall effect). I still have a DS I modded for whenever, but the victrix seems to be most comfortable one (for me). Its a shame regarding the polling, hopefully they unlock it.
It probably will win or be jerkin itself in the winners circle (top 3). It’s a very good controller I’ve been using a lot more recently, thanks for reminding me I might do a part two follow up review
The battery life on ps5 controllers suck monkey balls!!! Thats my only gripe. Haven't had one fail on me yet. I dont own a premium one yet but i want one so im tuning into this vid.
I have the edge and bought in January. I have drift in both sticks more noticeable in the right and the rubber is separating from the controller. Just letting you know my experience with them.
With battle beaver you can just select smart triggers you don’t have to do smart bumpers but yeah unfortunately if you select smart bumpers you have to do triggers doesn’t make much sense lol.
