DO I NEED TO FEED MY DOG MORE? I have a 5 month old mini/medium aussiedoodle. She weighs 19 pounds and is 15 inches tall (floor to shoulder/whithers). Right now, over the course of a day, I feed her 1/2 cup Carna4, 4 mini raw patties from Bones & Co., goat’s milk, and some fresh greens and toppers. Also, am I feeding her enough? Should I feed her more kibble or raw food?
Formula to find out how much to feed your fur baby: furbabies weight x .05% = X lbs of food to feed. Example she gave is: 10lb dog x .05%= .5 lbs or 1/2 a pound of dog food. The large bag comes with 8oz patties which is half a pound 😬
@@Notadeejay this is per day, correct? Just making sure, I don’t want to over or under feed him🙈 also, patties are 1/2 lb each except when they thaw and lose water, then it’s a lot less :D have you noticed?
Hey Rachel! I wanted to try my 7 month old puppy on bones and co lamb recipe. She has been eating kibble with freeze dried raw all her life. I know in order to transition her, I needed to do it slow, therefore, I tried one party for her one day with a mix of her kibble. The next day she had explosive diarrhea and vomiting. I had to let her stomach rest for almost a full day and then started to feed a little pumpkin and cooked ground turkey. She is better now, however I’m a bit afraid to try that again. Please share some tips on what I should do in order to transition smoothly.
Hi Rachel! Do I need to salted the meet for a puppy when is starting the transition or just raw? Also do I need to mix her kibbles with the raw at the beginning? My breeder is feeding her with royal canine food so I am curious about that. I will get bones&co when I get her.
Hey! I live in Denver, and I don't have Bones & Co available near me. Are there any other balanced raw / whole foods brands that you would recommend for puppies? Our favorite provider near us, from whom we get our cat food, believes ONLY in PMR for dogs, but I would like to add some fruits & veggies for my pup, especially as a brand new dog mom. Is there a supplement or recipe out there I could use as a topper for PMR food?
