Which head strap would suit you best - BOBOVR M2 Plus (halo type) or M1 Plus (elite type)? Previous battery head strap review & comparison: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e6DFKrfQ8gE.html
there is only 1 thing that keeps me frome switch to the m2+ and that is a good audio solution. Currently I use a frankenquest 2 (deluxe audio strap from htc) I have mine with a mod that allows me to keep a anker 10 k mah battery on the back and it is very comfortable. I have always liked the idea of how a halo style strap works but, all the clip on speakers/headphones I have seen for them have been pretty bad in sound quality. Great review and product though.
I just got the BoboVR full combo of the head strap, battery and case. I was expecting to get the one in this video, but I got the old strap. It's very deceiving and I don't know why they would keep selling the old strap if there's a new better one now. It really sucks, now I don't know if I should return it or what to do...
I bought the M2 and really didn't care for it - it was comfortable but felt unstable, like it would fall off if I moved too quickly. Fortunately, BOBOVR offers a conversion kit to convert an M2 into an M1. For me, the M1 has been much more comfortable and feels very stable even while playing aggressively. I also picked up their charging station that charges both the headset and spare battery - it's awesome!
it's unstable if you use that mini strap (1.5 cm distance from front). Don't use that at all and it's comfy and super stable, so long as you tighten it properly.
Just decided to return my M2 for the M2 Plus and I can't be happier, not only does it cup your head better but it doesn't require you to crank it until your headset it pressed hard against your face, almost makes it feel weightless. BOBOVR hands down has the best straps on the market.
@yan Depends on your hair my friend. It would always slide up my head so I had to crank it down kinda hard for it to be stationary, once I whacked my hair off I didn't have that issue
11:56 fr i tried my cousins vr and the only thing i didnt like is that the top strap pressed my hair down and ruined my hairstyle (i dont have long hair tho)
Thank you so much for the review! I almost got the m1 plus since so many other reviews love it so much. But when you mentioned the VR face, which is my biggest concern, and also the struggle with long hair, I decided to go with the M2! :D
Thanks for the video! I thought the M1 would be a better choice. Love you did a comparison video between the 2 because I couldn't find someone that used both
I wear glasses and I use the honeycomb backing because it's thinner. It really helps me get the headset on and off easier. I have a BOBOVR M2 Plus, BTW.
Excellently reviewed as always Can't wait for my M2 plus to come tomorrow. No more using a power bank and cable to extend my sessions. Looking forward to your q&a also.
I have all of these now, the M1 Plus is the dream headset for me. I don't like Halo style, I love the Elite Strap style. Thanks for this video! Very informative for those making decisions on a new headstrap, man I love Bobo. I have so much of their gear now.
What is it about the elite style that you prefer? Or rather, why is it that you don't like the halo? I'm still on the fence about which one is right for me, however the long hair issue is certainly one that I resonate with lol
@@bobsander4739 Halo one makes me sweat more, also can move around depending on head shape, sucks if you have long hair especially. Halo is worse for fast paced movement basically. That's me though...everyone diff.
@@heythere6804 I decided to stick with the halo, although I never did try the elite. But I found it to be so much more comfortable than the default that I just settled lol
Ok I just ordered the bobovr m2 pro I like the magnetic battery. I had decent one right now will give it to my nephew. Спасибо за информацию. Practicing my Russian writing:)
I'm the same. I much prefer the halo strap but I've only got the original Bobo VR without the battery. I'm starting to play for longer periods now that I've gotten used to the Quest so might be time to invest in the M2 Pro.
i have the previous BOBOVR and it's not really good to be honest. The design totally kills the audio of the Quest 2 and i am not using headphones all the time, especially in sports games. The M1 Plus do seem to fix this design fault, whereas the M2 Plus still cannot be used due to the bad audio. Nevertheless, the flexible back part does not really help in terms of counter-weight. I currently use a cheap headstrap with a modded battery attached to the back and barely can feel any weight on the front, because the weight at the back lifts up the front quite a bit.
This was really helpful info thank you! I don't use headphones either and rather like the spacial audio the quest has. I was torn between the m1 and m2. But now I have a more clear thot thx.
Turns out I just bought the older M2..but no complaints..I'mikung it a lot, and will be adding a charging station. at least one spare battery.. and I might take a look at that fan unit too. Very impressed with BOBOVR.
You teased us with this review and it did not disappoint...although now I'm not sure which one to get 🤔 I do spend quite a lot of time, most of it really, in active gaming like beatsaber, powerbeats, synthriders etc as well as shoot-em-ups, but also static apps like bigscreen and puzzling places. Based on this and the past reviews I'm still leaning towards the M2, but then again.... Maybe the solution is a second Quest.
glad it didn't disappoint! 😁 I hate disappointing teasers... 😐 whelp, it's a tough, choice, but I've been using the halo type for a while and given that it works better with my hair (lol) that's the one that I'm personally sticking to!
@@DiscoVRTetiana I guess I'm lucky in a way in that I don't have the hair problem to deal with...it was the razor for me as soon as I spotted that bit of skull poking through 😄. That means I both save money on shampoo as well as having more headstrap options!
@@Jeffs820 I guess everyone has a different shaped head and way of using them. For me, the elite strap simply does not fit well, it moves too much during active gaming, the angles aren't right and the back sits in the wrong spot for a positive fit. TBH, I've found the original strap to be better believe it or not. Definitely going to give the M2 a go as it looks to solve pretty much all of those problems for me.
@@davethekiwibloke Hope it works out I've had several friends get it that say it doesn't fit correctly but like you say it could be the head shapes and sizes.
SAME only it's improved via a Kiwi over top velcro strap & a back of the head 3D printed cup, a modest 20$ upgrade that really helps, but that's been since 2020... jumping to the m2 Plus by this weekend
Honestly I'm torn between the two. Before Bobo had a conversion kit that was cheap if you wanted both. I honestly feel they should make a conversion kit plus. At least I would like them too. Bobo if you see this, pls make it.
@@DiscoVRTetiana Ah, what confused me is that the M2 Plus comes without a battery. You have to buy that separately as an addon now.. I have the M2 pro but in one of the comments here I read about the conversion kit to improve it. Just ordered that one, see if that makes it a bit more stable :)
@@davethekiwibloke The m2 plus version without the battery, which I would buy since I already have 2 batteries, comes without the battery adapter as far as I can see. The battery upgrade kit is another $40,-. They should offer a version with the adapter and without batteries for those who want to upgrade from an m2 pro..
The M2 style, which I did try, sadly doesn’t fit well on my head - I gifted it to a friend, along with my spare headset, and he loves it. Glad BoboVR also makes the M1/Elite style. I love the Kiwi Elite I have, fits my head shape well. Too bad The Bobo M1 doesn’t give you the two batteries and dock, tho.
I would love to try this strap, it sounds perfect, but I already own the original M2 and the battery kit for it; still trying to decide if this is worth the $$ to upgrade...
I just yolo'd and ordered m2 plus (already using m2 pro) and I'd say good lord they are much better. Feels more solid overall and the back grips soooooo much better than the pros especially with the honeycomb pads
Nope, it’s not considered sponsored just because it’s free. Got a bunch of VR gear piled up that I haven’t even gotten around to reviewing. I’ll let you in on a secret, it’s pretty standard across the board for tech RU-vidrs. Companies send stuff over, hoping we’ll cover it, especially the small stuff like accessories. Seriously , do you think I need 10+ straps?
@@DiscoVRTetiana I know it's what people consider standard, but it doesn't make it right. How can you be objective if you didn't spend your money on the product like everyone else? It's like a hotel letting me stay for free and expecting me to give an objective review. It's still sponsored.
@@disciprine Reviewing VR hardware/software is pretty much my job. Honestly, after the 10th head strap, they're just another item in the closet. My goal is to guide viewers through that flood of options. The standard practice of receiving items is about access to a range of products so I can keep the reviews coming . If you watch my videos you'll know that because I often share critical opinions when I notice quality failures - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e6DFKrfQ8gE.htmlsi=wSmbwYBlyMZqv7Da
