**Correction** A few of our lovely viewers/subscribers pointed out that the level flight for 3 seconds at 80-100% is to optimise AS3X after changing the trim setting. Therefore the uncommanded deflection of the ailerons was likely due to radio interference. Thank you so much for pointing that out for us! 😁🍻
Hey guys. I found your channel recently and have started to watch more and more. I find your channel holds my attention. I watched this one because I have been interested in this plane even though I am a rookie to RC. I have to point out I enjoy all your camera views as it puts me in the left seat reminding me of my brief stint flying the real planes. I hope to see more new videos soon. A big salute from Texas USA.
Hi just found your youtube vid great to see. As I'm just looking that getting the draco, I'm in Ashburton just down the road good name to love it. keep it up
Wow can you imagine how much fun the full size one was to fly. I have to admit when it was glitching my heart was in my mouth, but you sussed it and let it re-configure job done, I have to say well impressed with it's abilities the short take off and landing makes it ideal for where I do most of my flying, so normally would not consider it but man just the look is something else, nice flight look forward to seeing it again when Amber has a go.
Awesome vid kids!! Wow, what a plane! Great timing on that landing. The absolute trick for soldering, keep on soldering, lol. Yup, keep on keeping on. No amount of tutorials will give you the actual experience, just gotta melt the rod....
Brilliant. I watched you in the monster trucks, so happy you do RC planes. I've moved to the dark side , now have timber X , carbon cub s2, szd 54 glider and a cheap eBay purchase I'm doing up. Nice to see you both again. Give Amber a hug.
Bloody awesome guys, as a Kiwi in Waikato, great to see something relevant. Done 10 + years i RC Crawlers, want to get airborne. Might have to catch up, getting a "Late 50's dude", in the air.
Thanks for sharing. Can you please tell me the diameter of the main wheels. Perhaps i can use them for my RC SCRAPPY build project. Appreciate your support😃
is the plane just that good those landings looked perfect , or is it your flying capabilities joe . Very exciting video , loved it . the cockpit footage is awesome
If your struggling with soildering and you have a good iron then it’s probably unleaded solider your using and is impossible to work with, try leaded soilder I use the tbs brand and it works great.
Great video, thinking of buying one of these. I’m in Christchurch for a few weeks, is that the place next to Yaldhurst Road where I would be able to fly?
If I was you guys I would title these videos as just flying it rather than a review, just due to the lack of experience and lack of knowledge of other planes. otherwise good video!
Just to follow up on what Tim said, get a little container of flux goop, it's super useful. I also use flux pens for work with surface-mounted components. In short, flux is the key!
Epic video guys!! Love the idea of RC bush planes. Fly the Durafly Tundra myself (Wouldn't have the room for the Draco myself lol) and absolutely love the thing. So very true with what Joe said, There are Model aircraft for speed, manoeuvrability and others just to trolling around the sky at a super slow pace, practising very short take offs and even shorter landings. Epic!! How far this hobby has come in the last 10 years alone is awesome!!! Happy landings!!
I had the Durafly Tundra too! Loved it! Sadly I lost it in the middle of a lake in Hong Kong, when I went to get in the water to swim out and get it, a King Cobra came out from beneath a rock.... So never saw that plane again... 😂
@@TheRcKiwis wow!! sounds like the King Cobra wanted that Tundra more lol. Shame you lost it..then again the Draco is many levels above the Tundra in every way!
Awesome Video guys!!, I think Joe and I have similar story's for soldering lol, the way it flew through the air looked so good and I can definitely see why this is one of your most enjoyable/favorite planes. Keep it up guys! :)
Great video guys wonder if they will make a kit to turn that into a seaplane or do they make RC seaplanes so you can land and take off on pond or calm water way IDK why that thing just reminded me of one
Very nice video. So true what you say about perspective between flying smaller and larger planes. I've made a couple of "tree" landings learning that lesson. Wish HH would come out with a smaller scale and less expensive Draco. I know it would have to have less detail and less features but I'd still want one as long as the flying experience was similar.
13:50... AS3X Initializes on the ground and won't let you fly without initializing. You speak of the comment in the manual regarding trims. When trimming, you need to wait about 3 seconds after a trim on any AS3X plane.
Dunno what was going on just after take off there but U where definitely getting un commanded inputs on your controls it wasn't as3x I'd say some sort of interference I fly spektrum ix12 religiously and have no issues
Regardless, should still fly level at 80-100% for 3seconds as per the manual, after we did that it wasn't playing up anymore but could have been a coincidence. You may be right, I also thought it may have been RF interference. Need the flight data recorder 😅🍻
@@TheRcKiwis I have this plane man when did u fly it I haven't been flying for a few days because there is solar storms atm from the sun and I know that can play havoc with our rc stuff
@@gavinwilkins5466 Flew it last week on Friday, went through 10 packs in total 😁 I do think they put up a new 5G tower near where we fly, it may have been that interfering possibly? Might have to change locations

I really Love Mine. Yes the Maiden flight is when only 1/2 Nervous ? Personally I do the Sign of the Cross and Bless the ship. Can pop mine off the runway in 2 feet, round the field and set it down in 15.'. SAFE MODE ??????? Come on . Shut that off. Fly the Bird, Set her Down full flaps and hit switch "A" and reverse to back up. out of the 530 R/C Planes in my Squadron. Love it. Enjoy the Bird. Great STOL. Arrgh. AKA: Captain Morgan. USA...Enjoy ....
@@TheRcKiwis I saw the video today, I'm glad it helped! Also don't buy solder from the plumbing isle, get it from an electronics supplier or online and make sure it's for electrical, not plumbing.
Not sure why everyone made such a big deal about this plane when it came out. It has to be the worst looking plane and extremely over priced! It's only good for crashing...
