Hey! just wanted to get some insight on what you recommend. My child is in second grade and just had a conference with his teacher to see that they are struggling in some areas. What apps or programs do you recommend to help them improve on every aspect. Mother thinks they should be held back and I don't believe that's the answer. I feel there is a lack of them understanding somethings.

For math and reading I have a review video on here for each of 10 online reading and 10 online math programs. A lot of them can be used for kids in school to improve. I would maybe start with IXL and have them do the diagnostics assessments, then it recommends skills to close any learning gaps. I have a link for a 7 day free trial in the descriptions of those videos. I would start there.

My 7 year old is on the spectrum, has a very short attention span and gives up easily if he doesn’t immediately catch on. He is really into games and videos. What program(s) for reading would you suggest for him to keep him engaged?

I love the short lessons in Essentails in Writing. I just did a video on it. The video lessons are like 4 minutes long (at least at the level we are doing, Level 2) and then you print out the worksheets and what I do is break them up to do over several days so we can quit while we're ahead. Night Zookeeper is the other program we use which is done online and is game based.
