So I bought the cheapest revolver I could find that is not a .22lr . I will say that with the polymer grips it is very pleasant to shoot and not too snappy. The wood detective style grips are just too small in my opinion and the polymer while being nice grip wise were a pain to fit on the frame but once on are snug and not moving around at all. Go check out the m206. #revolver #pistol #gun #everydaycarry #pewpew #rangeday #edc #selfdefense
I am not trying to sell you a firearm. I am trying to help you make an informed decision about what you are seeing. The firearm is mine and the shooting took place on a safe range.

Looks like a good, all steel revolver for the money. Those aftermarket grips are a must. Probably a bad idea to shoot +P in that revolver so I'd stick to 110-125 grain JHP standard pressure ammo for self defense.

For the money it’s definitely a good option for carry. I did not find anything in the owners manual that stated +p was safe . I know some other have used it but I will just use the regular standard pressure ammo like you mentioned. Take care

As far as using +P .38 Loads in your Model 206, A Armscor Representative recently stated that occasional +P fire would not effect the gun. He also stated that constant +P shooting in your Model 206 could have some negative effect on the gun. I have owned a Model 200 and a Model 206 and have shot many +P loads with no problems. The top strap of the 200 and 206 Revolvers is good thick steel. It looks to me like these Armscor Revolvers, the 200 and 206, could take many rounds of +P fire. A very good revolver for the cost and a very durable six-gun that would make an excellent firearm for self defense. I have shot plenty of hot loads through both of my Armscor Revolvers. The Model 200 of mine was purchased by myself over 10-years ago. It has had hundreds of .38's shot through it with no problems.You did well with your Armscor Model 206 purchase. Enjoy your shooting and use +P loads for occasional use and regular .38 loads right along with the hot stuff. Use the +P ammo for self defense purposes.

@@davidabney7700 thanks for sharing! I’ll run some plus p occasionally and maybe strictly use for carry

I bought mine nearly 4 years ago. I Love it, it's a great shooter. Especially for the price. I contacted Rock Island Personally. You can shoot +P ammo just not a steady diet, with that info I decided to use +P ammo and I have had zero problems. I mainly load my own ammo, so my personal loads are what I like to mainly shoot and carry. These guns are Quality budget revolvers they are rugged enough to take standard abuse. I have well over a thousand rounds through mine. The bore is still bright and shiny, the cylinder locks up tight like it should and shoots reliably. The one thing I recommend is to ditch the factory grips and replace them with Pachmayer Colt D frame grips for me personally it made a world of a difference.

Thanks for watching and for the input. I may have to throw some plus p through it now. I like mine as a hunting or fishing sidearm. I hope mine has some longevity and stands up to time for me. Take care!

You're right about reliability. Congratulations on your purchase. I probably have more time carrying a 5 shot "pocket revolver" than any other handgun. Allow me to suggest 125 gr Winchester Silver Tip for defense. It seems to expand well at .38 velocities. Hope you never have to use it, or any other firearm.

Thank you for watching, I appreciate your suggestion for carry rounds. I enjoy firearms and like to shoot and collect them but you’re right that I pray I never have to use them. Be safe out there.

Underwood Kieth 158 grain +p semi wad cutters are the way to go. A legit 400+ft lbs of energy out of the 1.8” 442. It’s essentially base 357 magnum levels of energy. Hits like a freight train and opens and pedals huge. There are plenty of videos on the tube testing it. It’s essentially a little stronger version of what was carried by detectives and officers for a long time and has a very proven track record.

I bought one of these last year. Regardless of what anybody says the inner workings are delicate and I would not suggest 38 Special +P ammunition. Standard pressure 38 Special lead semi wad cutters (LSWC) are the way to go. I wish they offered it with a 3" barrel. However, if you are looking a pocket revolver to trust your life on go with a S&W J-frame 442 or 642 which are +P rated and run the +P 158 gr LSWCHP FBI load.
@RandoWayne
@RandoWayne 3 месяца назад
I agree and I do not plan to run +p and would definitely caution others since it not technically rated for it.

I managed to find a Taurus model 85 for less than this gun in a pawn shop and so far it’s amazing. I tried to buy this revolver but the version I went to go see happened to be hammerless, and after I saw the Taurus I thought, damn I might as well go get that

Why does the end of the barrel look like it is machined and unfinished? That barrel tip looks like it missed a step during Mfg.

May I ask where you got the holster? I have a hard time finding a concealed carry holster for it, it seems to have a slightly different shape from comparable S&W's and Tauruses, maybe because the cylinder holds 6 instead of 5.
@RandoWayne
@RandoWayne 8 месяцев назад
You can definitely ask, I got it on Amazon. It is a cardini leather holster for the jframe, S&W. I will say it was a tight fit at first but I let the leather get warm in the sun and would force it in and out and now it’s fits well.
