Here's where the RUBBER hits the road so to speak! What tires do you have on your bike/s or what do you plan to use? If you own any tires mentioned in this video I'd love to hear your feedback. ✌

Thanks Trek, I went with the Pirelli Angel Scooter tires with the alternate sizes. My top reason to upgrade was for improved wet performance here in the Pacific Northwest. I just received my CORBIN seat today. So I’m ready to rock the summer. Thanks so much sir for your very informative videos. Did my first ride for an hour last Sunday and with retirement coming up in July ‘24, I’ll be all set for leisurely weekday cruises!

Those are some fine tires, yes. Let me know how they handle. They make sense in the wetter climate. A Corbin seat along with retirement sounds amazing! Time to enjoy the planet it sounds like. One day... ✌🏻😁

@@Trekopolis I’m curious how the CVT transmission in the ADV 150 will react to a 10mm height decrease to the alternate size suggestion of: F- 80 to 70, R- 70 to 60.

@@GG1_LocomotiveFan I've not messed with my CVT yet so I can't provide much on that. There's a Facebook ADV 150 (USA) group that has a lot of gearheads who rap about stuff like that. Search for the Group and you'll receive loads of comments if you posed the question there I'm sure. Those folks get very technical with many things. Apparently they have a lot of time on their hands, unlike me. :)

Never go budget on good rubber for any of your rides... bicycles, scooters, motorbikes, cars, trucks, lorries. It is the only thing that keeps you and your ride safely on the black stuff, can bring you safely to a stop, and makes sure you don't arrive in hospital due to misfortune. Fitted the Michelin City Grip 2's on my mother's scooter and I should've done this a decade ago. She has since crashed many times with her once brand new scooter. In the end she was using a Kenda 413 rear and some no name brand on the front. I went for a test drive and it was a complete metamorphesis on her Peugeot V-Clic scooter. Great load bearing capability (she has a Givi E43 Mulebox Advance big box on the back) and the grip under acceleration, braking and cornering is top notch. Counter steering and leaning can be done reliably and with confidence with these new tyres. To me it feels like a whole new scooter with a character the way it should've had when it left the factory and my mom got it for the first time.

Big Maxi-Scoot rider here. Burgman 400, 2006 model. I just wore through my first replacement rear tire in only 3,600 miles - hwy & city. It was a Shinko 130/70-13. Price was cheap $59 or somesuch. But longevity WAY too low. Didn't even last 90 days ! So now Im ordering the Pirelli Angel in 140/70-13. (It will clear the engine case, I measured it) Searching for reviews is how I found you. Somebody said the Angel tire has harder center rubber for longer life. Looking forward to that. Where do you ride your Honda 150ADV ? I'm in East Texas myself. Thanks for the review ! David

@@Trekopolis Right on Brother. Hoping for better than 3600m lol. Fwiw, I did successfully mount & ride a car tire for 10k miles. Aka "Darksiding". Better in most every way vs M/C tire. Only 2 difficulties prevent re-doing a new Darkside tire: - Hard to locate right size of 13" tire - Mounting is harder to do requires more care, skill & persistence than most installers have. I've considered trying the "Ether / Starting fluid" bead seating method. Well see, more research needed. (Sure is fun watching guys do it though) Cheers - David

Your channel has been a big help. thank-you! Regarding "City Grip 2.0" alternate tire sizes - when entering the alternate sizes on "Revzilla" website tire page, these sizes do seem accurate. Something I ran across is that both these these sizes are listed as "reinforced" (120/70-14 61S Reinforced & 140/60-13 63S TL are what I odered) Actually the reinforced version makes sense as the ADV 150 is a heavier scooter (299 lb. scooter PLUS 200 lb. rider). I seriously doubt you will be able to find the Michelins in original sizes. Hope that helps!

hi bud, excellent video and you covered the bullets point at the best. So about two months ago, I need a rear tire asap as the treat was very low LOL I commute and ride hard as the same time 🤣. It was a challenge to find the OEM tires and even my local dealer so I finally found a bridgestone tire called battlax SC for wet/dry great reviews and cost me $100 so not bad but another challenge happened as they dont make front tires on our scooter specs jajajajaj which I was okay because my front tire is still good but i was able to pre-ordered the OEM front tire at the local dealer when i got the rear one installed. they actually called me this morning that it arrived (two months later) im going tomorrow to get it done as the front is looking bad now plus winter is coming, gotta get it done before its too cold outside. On your next or future videos, please look into nitrogen for the tires, i think it would be very convenience as regular air PSI bounces up and down depending on the weather (hot/cold) i installed Bluetooth TPMS on my tires since i owned the adv150 and the previous scooter or ruckus and man the PSI it's very unbalance so i'm gonna try nitrogen with the dealer tomorrow, they offer it at a cost. This way i dont have keep filling up the tires or release air when its super high psi. I will let you know tomorrow the nitrogen cost, i think it was around $30 per tires. After that done i can always go to costco and use their nitrogen if it would need more which i doubt it. Take care buddy and the broncos almost got that win. Go Bangels!!!
@Trekopolis
@Trekopolis Год назад
Hey man! Thanks for the detailed info! I've heard about nitrogen, but not sure about it in great detail. I'll definitely look into it more. Since you commute I can imagine having to deal with tire pressure all the time. Well, good luck with the new tread and maybe the Broncos can turn things around! 🐎🏈🤛🏻

Howdy, regarding your alternate size suggestion for the ADV150- I’m concerned about the clearance of the 10mm wider width at the rear. How did you determine there was sufficient clearance? One local Honda shop tech said the tire will rub, another tech said if you have at least a finger width clearance, it should be ok. It looks to be about 1/4 width clearance but I’m curious how you gauged the clearance. Thanks
@Trekopolis
@Trekopolis Год назад
It was information passed along from a comment on a Honda ADV 150 group on Facebook who mentioned the alternate sizes. There were questions about the exact thing, but apparently there was just enough room for it to work. Yes, it's close though I get it. I personally haven't tried it or seen one live so be careful with that. Maybe there's a tire that size at a local dealer you can place there for comparison. ?

@@jimstenlund6017 Should be fine. The reinforced has benefits that help protect tires from punctures, but can sacrifice some ride comfort due to stiffer sidewalls. Probably not enough to notice I would imagine. Still probably better ride than stock tires regardless. Enjoy! ✌🏽
