Best Self Filming Setup | Filming with your phone on a Gimbal | DJI OM5 | OOAL Waypoint | 

I just purchased the DJI Osmo Mobile 6 to film turkey and whitetail hunts. I looked all over the web for videos like this. We tree stand hunt so I am currently looking for a light weight arm for gimbal. With the Active Track 6 of the OM6 I hope it is able to do a good job of tracking. I will find out during turkey season hopefully. Thank you for posting this and glad I found it.

I like it. I think for a tree stand you would just toss it onto a bigger arm so it gets out in front of you like a camera. but it would be much better because you don't have to lug around a big camera and giant mic on top of it as well.

bought this rig with some camo tape, still waiting on the OOAL cam arm but I used it with a simple trail cam screw in, worked great, although I didn't get a shooting opportunity but had some great footage. I did get it to work with a thin phone case which I camo tapped too. Thanks for the video can't wait to get my OOAL arm. one suggestion tape on the lights for late evening use. Battery life was great.

Would love to get more info about this, as I have been kicking the idea around about filming my hunts this year. But as stated, I am not going to do unless I can do it with my phone. I already have so much gear, as a public land hunter, I just don't want to have to pack even more just to be able to film. So I am quite excited about this information.

Do you have to use the DJI app? Could you film with the beast grip app and use it to zoom stil?

How was the mobile 3 for you compared to the 5? I heard the battery life was twice as long on the 3 than the 5 and still has active track. What are the cons to the 3 that made you make the switch. Thanks!

So, question. Would there be any benefit to using something like the genesis 3d sub one arm over the OOAL? I’m only thinking about the reach. In theory you wouldn’t have to twist the strap around the tree with a longer arm?

I’d be worried about the gimbal in bad/cold weather. Did you get to try it nasty weather to see how it held up?

How much tilt range does it have? if you have a deer near the base of a tree can you tilt down far enough to pick it up?
