Started doing selfcuts again since ages ago and I gotta say its okay if you mess up! I went full bald a couple times, learnt from the previous mistakes and redid it. Now I'm good at 1 to fade and trying to learn 0 to fade method. Wish me luck!

That's a clean sharp fade. 👍 I've been cutting my own hair for almost two years now, way before Covid hit. Got tired of not getting the same equal treatment at a barber shop. He always give me that lazy cut or on his phone. I kinda learn his technique from buzzing from the top and faded on the side. The only issue I'm having right now is trying to get the fade blend in on the back of my head. It shows too much line. How can I blend it in and get that crisp clean fade? That small little arm on the side of the buzzer might be key. I've never used that, I may have to mess around with that.

How do you cut the back of your head so easily

Heres a written guide: Guideline width: index finger size / half inch. Comb as you go, clean surface 1. guideline, closed leaver, start temple, curve abit down in the back. 2. guideline, this looks like leaver fully OPEN not half as stated in video, OPEN leaver. 3. guideline, 1 guard leaver open. 4. guideline, 2 guard with leaver open 5. guideline, 3 guard with leaver open, exit at curvature of head (tip, imagine your head is a box, go straight up, dont flick out or follow the curvature, just straight up) 6. guideline, 4,5 straight up, just like 5th. guideline Blending, start from the top-bottom (tip; this is easier, as you may have noticed experienced barbers do it from bottom-top, but if you mess up, this cant be saved. If you start from the top and work down, you cant mess lower guidelines up, since your top guidelines is off higher length than the lower once) Use corners of the clipper, easy control, and you dont make straight lines 1. 1 1/2 one and one half guard, leaver open 3/4 of the way 2. 1/2 guard, leaver open 3/4 of the way 3. 1 guard, leaver open, blending out dark spots (this is sometimes not required, depends on hairtype, hairgrowth pattern etc.) 4. Open the leaver a little bit, looks like 25% open, just give it a'lil bump 5. Open leaver half, if the last guideline is still visible. Lastly the half guard for touch ups, and trimmers for removeing bottom bulk hair, flick out as you go. Tip: If you DONT have a beard, you can opt for a complete bald fade in the bottom, by replaceing the lowest part of your hair (neck, earloop areas) with a shaver (shavette, foil shaver etc.) Hope this helps If anyone heard anything different, or understood the video different, comment and ill edit the above.

Hey man I’ve been seeing all these other fade tutorials that always use a balder at the end. I have a kemei clipper and a $30 amazon trimmer and was hoping I could still get away with a clean fade or do I need the balder?? I’m no Barber at all just doing home cuts for myself man
