Some good lenses to look at. SMC Takumar, Canon FD, Carl Zeiss, Helios, pentacon, vivitar., Good places to start. Full frame focal length so depending what camera system you have aps- c, micro 4/3 or full frame...the lens focal will be true.
Thanks Sidney! FIY: Concerning SD Card Assessment (at 16:25), Slot 1 supports faster SD cards which is needed when shooting in Continuous drive mode. Video never needs to record that fast, so it's actually better to have images go to slot 1 and video to slot 2.
So jelous you can choose language. Sony stupid policy in Japan makes it almost impossible to buy Sony camera with English. All of them are in Japanese! You can’t change the language on those cameras unless you buy more expensive and nearly impossible to buy international version.
Stop whining, it is not nearly impossible. Yes, it is more expensive but hell you can still buy it. I did buy mine at the Sony store in Osaka back in June.

@@chrisbrockhurst - I guess my only current concern would be lenses - I have 0 knowledge about Sony lenses - other than the ones built into the RX1. When you say 'Astro' I'm assuming sky/night stars? I'd love to do some good shots of the sky.
The best tip is Picture Profiles don't affect your RAW images so i dont know why he talks about picture profile for like 3 minutes saying it gives you the best images out of the camera hahaha
2:53 You should have mentioned that by doing this, you are effectively reducing your resolution from 6000x4000 to 4000x2666 or 10.6 megapixels. That's something you should have said, but overall, great video.
@@mariasmirnova2286 I don't recommend doing it because you can just crop in post, which is all the camera is effectively doing anyway. If you keep that disabled, then you get a larger field of view to choose from for your crop later. Hope that makes sense!

Nice video i’m new to camera so i don’t understand shutter speed but it looks like it just make the image darker and lighter ? 1/50 was bright (i liked it) . 1/160 was dark ass hell .

At the 10:45 mark ( I followed every setup step accurately), my a7iii doesn’t allow me to choose 24p. My only choices are: 25p 100M and 25p 60M. What gives ? 🤷🏿♂️
Nice video Sidney, it's crazy up here in Canada I can't find stock on this camera anywhere. Not that I'm looking 100%, I'm holding strong for the A7SIII if it ever drops. Still rocking the SII and it's my night vision, can't get rid of it yet, but I'm really loving the features of this camera. It's unreal actually, even as someone who still shoots Canon (cine cameras and 6DII) I was surprised to see how much more enticed I am by this camera to the Canon R.
Fine by me, when it drops I will be compelled to buy it and I've got a few other things on my plate I need to pick up/upgrade...my 2011 iMac for instances ;). I suspect it will be a decent upgrade given the development time so happy to hold out.

Totally. I’m coming from Canon so I shoot full Raw. I have never had the option of compressed or uncompressed and don’t really understand it. Most sites say compressed for the speed of shooting and Lightroom storage but am I missing anything not doing uncompressed? I noticed you had uncompressed on your set up.

For slow mo settings (120p 60M) - custom button 2 : when you set it up, it showed AF OFF ... is this right? Can't we get AF ON when doing slow motion settings?

Thanks for the video! I just got the Sony a7iii and the LCD screen on the back only works if pulled out which is annoying because I prefer it to the EVF most of the time. Is this normal or is there a setting I need to change? Thanks in advance!
Wondering if you could help with an issue I'm running into. I have the ronin s (updated firmware) and the a7iii and the follow focus now works but now I'm not able to make my external monitor work at the same time. Any tips?
At 17:50 when doing final adjustments before saving. You do a quick adjust to the awb before saving, and you did it without moving out to the main menu. How?? Was there a button to quickly access it that I missed. I was following you up to that point. I've watched it numerous times but couldn't tell. Could you or someone explain please?
Sorry for silly question but I recently switched to Sony A7III from 5dMK3 and noticed that even after just playing with menus, taking few photos etc it's getting tiny bit warmer, especially bottom part of the body and when taking out the sd card it's also warm. Is it normal for Sony?
Does anybody know how to change in the a7iii to have your raw photos come out as you see them on the camera screen instead of having them come out darker?
At first glance, its amazing. But there is one big problem with proxy recording: If you want to use proxy recording in video 4k, you will lose the Eye AF!!!! :( I had to search a lot on google to find that out. (More known is normally, that eye af doesn't work, when using hdmi monitor and/or remote control)
Ah good to know! Yah I don't see us moving the the iii, will likely wait for the siii (may be waiting for the rest of my life 😂) or move to a different system maybe, still a sweet camera though!

When I am shooting pictures while viewing the monitor, it has a lot of information that appears on the left side of the screen. If I look through the view finder, then there is this annoying level indicator. How do I get rid of the unnecessary information on the screen (leaving just the aperture and speed), and the level indicator?

Hi Sidney! A bit late into the sony game but i just recently got the A7iii. As I was setting up I realised my camera for "Record Setting", @10mins 30s only has 2 options; 25p 100M and 25p 60M. Do you know how to solve this?
