I have the HD9 it's totally amazing. I just cant fault it. It's so powerful it seems unstoppable. It's also hard to screw up as it is so forgivable of my mistakes.
I think many people use their sewing machine, to make item's that are too bulky, or thick for their machine. This could be problematic for their machine. That's why I am so glad, that you introduced us to these two machines. These machines are both workhorses, durable, & reliable. Thank you for enlightening us all.
The HD9 is the best machine as I am an owner of one it’s a phenomenal machine! And you did not stress enough that the HD9 will accommodate thicker threads with the dual threading system. Everyone always wants to underplay the HD9 and I don’t know why … cost??? 🤔
Hi My presser foot for my HD9 is really tight I am trying to sew a leather handbag but the feed dogs are scratching up the leather. How do I release some of the pressure on it
Hi Christine, The dial on the very top, above the take up leaver will be the one you adjust. If you turn it anti-clockwise it should reduce the pressure. Any further issues, feel free to get in touch.
Well, you'd buy a leather needle! And the needle size depends entirely on the thickness of your leather! ie are you making a stout suitcase, or some dainty gloves. The former will require a stronger, thicker needle, obvs. If I were stitching leather by _hand,_ I'd only ever use a linen thread (waxed), but linen thread doesn't perform well in a sewing machine on leather goods, so you're best off getting a brand like The Leather Machine Company's _Bonded Nylon thread,_ which thankfully comes in a wide range of colours.
