Someone like myself who has spent a lot of time around Germans....can't stop smiling through all of your videos, I love the dryyyy humor !!!! " The Chicken gotta die for $6.99 "
@@Hysteriafish828 this Krefelder aka GIV should know a bit more about what is healthy to eat or drink - you should avoid any type of soda even if it is a diet soda-- the body does not distinguish between sugar and diet sugar - they also cause cancer - carbs are ok - dont restrict - I remember my German relatives eating bread topped with leber wurst and drink tea for dinner - it was yummy - stay away from alcohol- totally bad for body and mind
@@Mike_Sierra_2711 I have been and still am a participant in a national study/research for the prevention of diabetes (for over 20 years) - I was chosen to be in the study because of my high risk for diabetes - I never converted to diabetes because of following some basic rules like not drinking soda or diet soda or drinking alcohol - having diabetes like GIV has is no joke - I am only trying to help the guy - I dont think it is funny
They mark your receipt so you don't come back in and get more items using the same receipt without paying. Also, when they look at the receipt, they are not looking at the individual items, they look at the total quantity on the receipt and see if it looks like it matches the items in your cart.
Yeah I worked at Costco for awhile. We would look at higher priced items too and the bottom of the cart. No way you're checking everything. I think it's somewhat for show too
True Story: We went to Costco a long time ago and this real BIG lady was lingering around the entrance while my Dad was on the phone, When we finally went inside my Dad pulled out his membership card (while still on his phone) to show the people at the door and that lady and her sister followed closely behind and said to the doorman "He's my husband!". LMAO! if she only knew that they ask for the card at the checkout...
The new term I'm learning is "Vibe. Your vibe is so positive. That's one reason I like your show. I like your winkles! I liked the video about Costco because I moved to a small town and have only a Walmart. I love Walmart, but it's nice to see Costco. Thank you!
I love how GIV's parents taught you not to put your shoes on the couch. Now you see kids acting out, trashing things, destroying items for sale, and screaming in the store. America is in real trouble because we don't teach and expect proper behaviors.
@GodLovesComics most American parents don’t seem to care and don’t know how to discipline properly, which is why there are so many annoying kids in stores.
I used to drive a trash truck. One time at the landfill all the landfill employees were gone from their places. I said where is everybody? They were on the radio running to see what was being dumped out of a COSTCO compactor I had signed a contract not allowing scavenging, but I could see new lawn mowers, fishing tackle, camping gear all new, some still in the packaging I could not take anything
I think you can find those kids in any store. I don’t shop at Costco but even at the regular grocery store where I live you can find that one noisy kid!
I’m new here and you make me laugh. Thank you. I’m the same as you, I haven’t had sugar for 6 months now and no bread either. I’m diabetic. I haven’t been to Costco since my daughter passed away. From Australia 🇦🇺 I’m having a great time shopping with you. You have helped me today. .
Hey Mike, that's my girlfriend's local Costco. She puts me on video when she's going round the store. Hope to be back over with her soon. Until then you keep me up to date with all the happenings stateside. God bless you man.
I've been eating once a day for 2 months today. I was at 215 pounds. I've lost 13 pounds, my goal is 170-175. I'm 76 so this will be a life long habit. It's been pretty easy so far.
@@greenie75 I drink water, and at night a V8 juice. No snacks. But I eat as much, and what I want for my one meal. Hey, even if you lose one pound a week, that's 52 pounds in one year. Pretty cool huh?
The receipt check is a shoplifting deterrent as I was told. They’re quickly checking for big items in the cart is on the receipt as well as number of items looks same as receipt. It also means you can’t reuse a checked off receipt to steal.
One time I bought gift cards. They ring them up and you are supposed to go pick up the actual gift cards at a special door. The receipt checker caught that I had forgotten to go pick them up. So, sometimes it is to help the member.
Also to make sure everything has been rung up. One time, the cashier and the receipt checker missed the big thing of napkins under my cart. Free napkins for me! I would have gone back but it was late and I was really tired by the time I got home and noticed.
The short food line could be because they now want to see your membership card before you purchase food. Prior to that the food court was open to anyone.
Yeah i wasn't a member but I use to get the hot dog all the time lol, it's weird cuz I don't eat hot dogs but once in a while I would get a craving for Costco hot dog with onions
👍 MIKE I shopped at Costco‘s in 41 of the 50 states in the United States and I will tell you in my opinion it is by far the most popular place to shop for just about everything that you need for your car your home yourself it’s just fantastic and every COSTCO is different as far as supplies so they’re not all 100% the same… Phenomenal video keep doing what you’re doing. I love the channel and most important is that you have a very good attitude and you treat people with respect and it’s fun fun fun when you see how it’s done, I call you the multicultural intercultural and cross cultural genius you get along with everybody and that’s a quality that’s very rare🇺🇸🙏⭐️🌎
Hey German in Venice! Love your videos and your good vibes. I work a block up the street from costco at Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Come on in for a free acupuncture/herbal medicine treatment in our clinic! And if you're feeling it, make a video about it! Thanks dude. See you at the beach!
Mike you should be very careful with those "no sugar" items, the sugar is replaced with artificial sweeteners and they are really toxic. for your health sake please check it out, also you are right avocado is one of the most healthiest things for you to eat, unless you have kidney problems, and kidney problems go hand in hand with diabetes and excessive weight - avocado's are high in potassium and that can be seriously bad for kidney function - love your video's and take care mate - Carl
Mike - did you know we have Costco in the UK? The layout of the store is exactly the same as the US and they sell the same pizza, chicken bake, hotdog and ice cream. It’s really crazy but one big difference….membership is cheaper than the US!
Your COSTCO in America looks exactly the same as the one here in Ringwood, Melbourne, the same layout, products, everything. The weirdest thing I've ever seen for sale in COSTCO is a coffin, hey, but each to his own I guess. Your takeaway food is heaps cheaper and we don't get refills on the drinks. Our Membership is $AU65.
GIV, thank you for showing this. I used to shop at Costco when I was working but not anymore as bulk load shopping is not for me when I did early retirement. Costco does have great deals for families. As always love your on location videos, you rock!!!😊
Appreciate the Polish lady's shoutout to Chicago. Chicago has the largest Polish population outside of Warsaw, so yes, we know how to make a mean Polish sausage.
Makes perfect sense😂 100$/year? That's crazy. Here in Germany the wholesale stores are for free. You only need to have a business license, and then you can get a free entrance card for the store. I have cards for two stores, but I don't even have a business license... my mother has, and so I can buy stuff for her, or for me😉
Mike, you are adorable! I've been watching and have been a fan of yours for a couple years now. I'm so happy you are getting the following you deserve. You have the best channel on RU-vid. Keep it up, und vielen dank fur alle!
Yes, I worked in retail and had customers from Norway who bought a lot of Levis jeans for their whole family. I love your videos! Just found you today.
Sam’s Discount Club like Costco said they make most of their profit from selling the memberships and that is why they can discount prices on merchandise. Happy early birthday Mike’s Mom 👍😎
I just went to Costco in my area last week. It is always busy. I also have a Jetson electric bicycle. I got it for $200 refurbished and it is almost brand new. Thanks for the video. Love your vlogs
Haha nice to meet a babcia in costco! I'm predominantly Polish american and I always hear how chicago has a lot of good Polish foods...sometime I have to visit. BTW! GIV you should do a vlog of daiso japan! It's a japanese 99 cent store chain in LA and you can find some really amazing quality stuff in there. I also reccomend doing one for tokyo central the one in torrance is really cool...i think people would find it interesting and it would make a good vlog because these Japanese stores are local to the area. I also reccomend going to round 1 at the puente hills mall...lots of unqiue claw machines and game machines from japan and i just think all this stuff would be interesting.
Thanks for reminding me that I STILL need to get a Costco membership. When I bought a new house a couple of years ago my mom said, we've got to go to Costco and get you a membership, but I put it off. Now I see videos of people talking about how great the food is at CostCo and of course how much cheaper it is to buy paper towels and other household stuff in bulk. Gotta join...if only RU-vid didn't reject my application to monetize :(
The price you said for sauerkraut was wrong. Sauerkraut is very inexpensive. I had a membership and found we bought stuff we really didn't need(food items). And we ate too much. Don't have membership anymore...😊 I'm happier without it.😊
“How does it feel to ride in a sausage”. I think those girls might have thought you said “on” a sausage. I laughed so hard. This entire video is one of the funniest vids ever. “Ninety nine”!
Mike there is a Costco 5 minutes from my house. I’ve been debating about joining. I think you just talked me into joining. Ours isn’t as nice as yours. We don’t have an outside food court. The meat and fish is better and cheaper at Costco. You missed a great opportunity. You should have asked the wiener mobile for an interview. I would have loved to see the inside
Loving these blogs, Mike. I think I've never watched so many of your videos back-to-back until you started pumping out these many blogs. Keep them coming!
We Love Costco. When they built one near us we joined instantly. It took no time to be packed 24/7 during operating hours. Crazy good. We always enjoy shopping and just hanging out with The GIV.
I can’t believe it. After work I went to Costco and I turned my daily video of the GIV and whaaaaat😮 !!!! the GIV was at Costco too . oh !!!!my Costco had chicken 😂😂😂sorry 😉hey! You forgot the gas at Costco $ 4.99 per gallon 👌👍
I had the pleasure of meeting the GIV today at Venice Beach! He took the time to talk to me and my son.. He is truly a genuine and all around great person! Cheers from the Great Sate of Texas!!
Mike, just so you know, there is a BIG difference in quality between the reading glasses at .99¢ store and the $15-$30 readers at Costco or a CVS. The 99¢ glasses are really bad for your eyes! Please don't use those cheap glasses. We ❤ GIV. Tell your mom we said Hi!👋
It would be best to get an eye exam and proper prescription from a licensed eye doctor, especially since store bought glasses do not include an Rx for astigmatism if you need it.
I only can do a left handed Vulcan thing. Costco cooked chickens? Yum. Here’s a thing you would def want to ask a doctor first. This is what I read. I remember it because I’ve done it since I started cooking for myself and food has to last. I freeze sourdough bread and take a piece or two out and toast it. I don’t eat a lot of it but it stays fresh. Anyway, if you do sourdough that way it turns to a resistant starch.
Saw that research, too. I’m diabetic so I checked it out because sometimes I just want a sandwich! So far those results are holding up,. Had a whole grain pita w/ sausage & veggies sandwich today, from my freezer to the grill to me, half the carbs, yay! Restrictions & allowances are constantly changing, so much research now that it’s a worldwide problem!
Costco makes all their profits from selling memberships. They make very little profit off their food items. That is how the company was set up, following the teachings of Mr. Price of Price club who the owner of Costco used to work for do in San Diego years ago
They also have hearing aides very good pricing so worth it if your hearing is bad. I just had the rotissery chicken last night lol very good! God Bless
I lived in Taiwan, and they also have a Costco. Once I got into skinny jeans there. I had like 5 pairs of levis but they hadn't figured out the product design and all the pants were developing holes in the crotch. They were 511s, not 501s. I was super broke and I returned all the jeans as defective . I felt guilty because I didn't even wash them, just got my money back. Also be thankful I don't wear skinny jeans anymore.
Germany is stupid..they could import their Washers to the USA..if adapt them to 110V..they very good and cost just 399€ unless you buy a Miele Washer..the best.🤔🇩🇪🇺🇸
What was that dang screaming in the background when the lady from pollard was talking. It sounded like a horror movie, lol. This was the best trip to Costco
Two comments....... 1) you can tell the ripe melon by the stem .... If it’s green it was picked too early and will not be as sweet.... tan or light brown melons were picked ripe... 2) Costco have great margins of profit because they buy in massive bulk volume themselves ... The word wholesale is the bait and then you must pay for a membership which is pure profit. Solid content GIV Support small business peeps.... Venice locals ... Roof roof One x
GIV do they not have self checkouts in California everyone I have been to has them. Also has a set 15% profit markup which pays for lights and Salaries Etc. And they make their profit from the membership fees
I love your channel, my family all watch it in the UK ❤ its great your on a health kick but just be aware anything that is labelled as 0 sugar is usually full of sweetners, always check the ingredients on the back of the packet
