Matched betting is not a good idea for addicts or those with addictive traits. You need a strong methodical approach and the result of the bets doesn't matter.
I love collecting scrap cable and metal at work, takes a bit of time sorting into different categories and a while to build it up but once you've got a good haul you can make well into the hundreds every time you weigh it in
I did matched betting and earned around 5.5k in 6 months. Admittedly, I have not been a successful matched better as many could make up to 10k, but in view of the fact that I only spent my unoccupied office hour doing this, I am happy with my profit
Matched betting is definitely the most lucrative side hustle I ever did. It's probably not as lucrative as it was, but I did it for 11 years and made £82K. I made £10K a year for 5 years, then it tailed off and I stopped. I didn't even do it at weekends, which are the most lucrative either.
Hello, and thank you for the video. Have you got an email I can contact you on regards to this? I would like to give it a go. I only have an old laptop though, and I am not the most intelligent. I am really struggling with living costs. In England, UK, and even making £100 a week would me out majorly. The money will go towards food, etc. I would even like to do some admin/promotion for your channel. I am just a genuine guy struggling with the cost of living. peace
Hi Nick. Thanks to you and this video in particular I have rented out my car park space and earn £150 pm. Got rid of my car nearly two years ago, it hadn’t occurred to me that a fairly lucrative side hustle was staring me in the face! Also opened a SIPP with Vanguard in addition to my workplace pension and invest regularly - in my early 50’s so chose this route rather than an ISA. Look forward to your next update. Your videos really motivate me to organise & structure my finances. All the best
@@twinflamegirl9901 Hi. Everyone’s situation is different of course. I’ve learnt a fair bit from RU-vidr’s like Nick. At first I considered doing an ISA, but given my current age decided to opt for a SIPP instead - this is in addition to my work place pension which my employer contributes 10%, and I also contribute 10%. I think it’s definitely worth it, make sure you do your research into which company best suits your needs, look at their charges etc, and which index funds or ETF’s you’d like to invest in. Also be careful that you don’t exceed the 40k pension allowance. If you’re still in your 40’s it may be worth considering an ISA. I’m not at all a financial expert, this is just my humble opinion. Good luck!
The problem with MB is that it's still work. You spend a lot of time to learn/understand how this works. Even some of the welcome offers require multiple steps, and if you screw up once, you may slash or completely miss out on a profit. You also need to plan on when to make bets, to optimise for either faster or bigger profits (can't have both I'm afraid). In other words, it's pure work, which, depending how well you do this, may earn you more or less than a minimum wage. If you're using your own spare time, kind of not worth it. Might be great if you use office time though.
Nice video, I still can't undertand how you made 17k doing sign up offers? It would be great to hear a breakdown of this. Current sign up offers available are worth around 1k in profit per account spread across all uk bookies.
The impact matched betting had on my savings/investments is crazy. Unbelievably I actually made more money from that than my full time job in 2018. Much like you it's a far more difficult task now, but even with all the gubbed and heavily restricted accounts I manage to find enough stuff to make it worth while. Not done any of the other side hustles, but I should definitely take a look at bank scalping. Roamler also sounds interesting, but probably not that viable with no big supermarkets particularly near me.
RE Roamler - it’s not just supermarkets. It’s pubs, corner shops etc. I know a lot of people who are out in a more rural area and do extremely well. Mainly because theirs no competition for tasks so they are generally high paid

I've seen that you've made a video on Matched Betting already, has anything changed since you've made that video or would you still use it as a rough guide on where to start?
Bank switching is all very well, but you can't do it every year. Once you've switched a bank for an incentive once, they often won't let you do it again for several years or more. I exhausted all the bank switches I could get a couple of years ago and now I'm not eligible for new ones (especially since so many banks have now merged).
Hi, quick question about Roamler, do you need a referral code for it to work? Because I signed up and skipped the part where you put in a code. Thanks.
Hey mate - there are some regions/postcodes which are referal free because that area lacks enough ‘roamlers’. But the majority of areas require a referral code 👍
Hi Chris - regarding the first, this is a wives tail. Would only significantly lower it if you took out debt (I have 6 debit cards and a credit score of 999). Yes, but you can set these direct debits up between your accounts. EZPZ
Another great video Nick! I'm going to start my matched betting journey again as I stopped last year. For me it's the best 'side hustle' you just need to have a big bank roll if you want to place a lot of bets per day or through the week. Good luck getting your Vanguard portfolio over £100k this year 👍
Great vids, I hate my job, it's full time and just pays the bills so a load of crap lol. I got into crypto and made good money but was new to it and let it all go wayy down and lost a fortune. Looking for new ideas, I like the FB market place reselling idea. Cheers
Hello and good afternoon thank you for the video and i hope that you are well. Does this really work ? I am really struggling with living costs and would be super grateful for a way to make a bit of money. I have a laptop. thanks George
Thank you for the reply. What is roamler? I can't do match betting because I attend gamblers anonymous and stay away from anything like gambling. would be grateful for some help.@@nickjm4108
Been looking at doing the fb marketplace flipping but normally don’t come across any deals, normally peoples prices on fb marketplace are way over what they sell for on eBay
Doing all the sign ups on matched betting I made about £300. I enjoyed it but after the initial offers I felt it was not worth the effort for only £2 - £3 each time.
Hi Nick, I've not been able to find any banks that offer a sign up bonus without wanting to switch all direct debits/closing your existing account. Is there a way round this?
You have a spare account. All you do is stick 2 direct debits on there and put a standing order from your main account to cover the costs. Then just switch this account and your standing orders ect will auto update. SUPER SIMPLE:)
Thanks for this video. It is very handy. Please, can you refer me to join Roamler, I really like the idea. Also, do you know of any side hustle that will work well with a delivery driver?
Hi Nick Quick Question also (or anyone from here that may know the answer) if you are just starting a side hustle like like the ones you mentioned, how do you handle taxes? I am have a full time job and pay taxes on that but if I do this on a side I will have to pay taxes after a profit of +£1000 as per what I read on HMRC, and then i will have to create a company or register as a sole trader right?
@@nickjm4108 Another question if I may, can I start this side hustle business with my personal Paypal or Bank account and later once I reach the +£1000 incomes, create an LLC or register as sole trader and then open a business bank account, to make thinks easier and legal for HMRC? What is your advise on this?
@@nickjm4108 Hi Nick, what is the best way to do it, as per your own experience? I mean I am starting now and I am not getting any income, probably It may take +6 moths or a full year until I reach that £1K. Should I open the new bank account now, or wait until the money reach £1,000. What is your personal advise on this?
@@juansanchez8884 Id get to £1,000 within a tax year before sorting first. If it takes you 6 months to get to £1,000 then it won’t be an issue until Oct next year
Hi nick, I tried to do the tasks on Roamler but after completing the onboarding tasks it's still not unlocking me the tasks but still saying complete the onboarding tasks when I actually have completed them and I don't know what to do? Any ideas?
@@nickjm4108 I installed the app this afternoon and I did all the onboarding questions and completing the questionnaires and stuff, it was all about 5 to 6 hours ago I think.
This is incredibly irresponsible and shocking advice. Bank scalping will hugely impact your credit rating hence why they offer incentives for you to switch. When borrowing money one of the key factors is average account age. So let's say you now want to buy car, get a personal loan or a mortgage. Your interest rates are going to be significantly higher and some lenders may refuse you as a consequence of you trying to make insignificant amounts of money switching banks.
I know several dozen people who have done bank scalping for years and have never had a credit issue so not sure what your issue is 🤷♂️ are you speaking from experience?
@@nickjm4108 changing banks accounts regularly directly has a negative impact on your credit rating. Not mentioning this whilst giving financial advice is very irresponsible. The fact you are unaware of this and are now arguing against it only highlights your inadequacy to be giving financial advice. I respect that your RU-vid is a side hustle but giving advice that is detrimental to someone's credit file for the sole purpose of content for your own gain is highly immoral. I suspect it's unintentional. When assessing your eligibility for credit there are multiple factors deemed as risks. Bank scalping will cause your average account age to be very low which is considered a moderate risk. It also impacts your overall score. I didn't say you will flat out not get credit but it can certainly result in fewer options and less favourable interest rates. I'd have no issue with you mentioning it as a side hustle if you mentioned the risks. Not everyone watching your videos will understand the risks and could suffer as a result of your advice. Particularly if they don't have the best credit initially. Not personal experience but professional knowledge.
We're you not listening? He clearly said leave your main bank account alone, so the long standing account isn't touched. Use a brand new account to switch, brings average age down but it's really not a big issue for cf as it shows longest account age.
Curious about how tasks in Roamler work, is there a system that prioritises individuals based on location or a ranking determined by how many tasks you've done already, or is it just a free for all? What happens if several individuals complete the same task? Does it pay them all or could someone waste their effort and not get paid? What is the typical payout? It seems pretty low so something you should try very passively.
You have to reserve tasks before you do them - stopping multiple people doing the same task. Other than that, it's a FFA. It's worth pointing out that every time you do a task, you gain points, the more points you have, the higher your level, the higher your level, the more tasks you can reserve at once
@@strongape312 in brief - I need to your email address. Might be worth you creating a Facebook account just so you can access the page. It won’t take you long
Hi Nick. Regarding Roamler, I am not on Facebook meaning I can not join the group to be referred to Roamler. However, I am on Instagram, if there is a way to be referred from there, or anywhere else. Thank you in advance.
