Hi, I just purchase the Sigma 16 mm from your review, but when I attached to my Sony zve1 the video looks grainy how can I fix that? your input will be appreciated. Thanks
Just got a 16-35. I’m afraid the lack of compression will make me look like Dobby the House Elf, but we’ll see! (I usually shoot at 70mm!) Terrific video escalation once again!
Fantastic video - thanks ! I wanted to buy one of these lenses and this was the one video that got me over the line in terms of what to get. One thought for an updated version would be to talk a little more about distance away from the lens with examples.
Many Many Many Videos searched and watched to finally have a look at this video which answers all questions and even goes the extra mile with loaded information on settings, kit and prime. Love this video. This has helped us way more than you could ever imagine. THANK YOU!

I got a Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K and yes you convinced me of getting a Sigma lens for that but my camera is a micro 4/3 so the solution is a speedbooster to adapt the lens to the camera...-and make it even better giving the lens a f-stop boost and a bigger cropfactor :) You learn so much from RU-vid! :)
Thanks so much. This was exactly what I needed for information to make a decision to get the Sigma 16mm. Perfectly explained in a way that is easy to understand for a beginner like me!
Loved your videos. I have sigma 16mm 1.4. I was planning to buy sigma 30mm to use as 2nd angle camera, then buy 56mm to complete my Sigma Trio. But then 18-50mm came out with £429 price tag. I would like to seek your advise if I should go with the 18-50mm. the versatility of the zoom lens is an advantage but it is only F 2.8. Your thoughts?
I just bought a Sony NEX 5T with the kit lens (SELP1650) but Im looking to replace it with something affordable that performs better in low light, mostly for recording. Any advice? Im a novice shooter. Thanks
Excellent discussion of various lens choices. I've used the Sony A6400 and the A6700 APS-C cameras but the A6100 you used here has great video quality. I noticed that my RU-vid quality setting started out at 720P but the image looked like 1080P. And even at that, the video quality was really, really good! A Sony A6100 matched with a good lens (like the ones you discussed) would be a great choice for many people.

Hi 😊 I followed your instructions and my video is not coming out HD on zoom, what am I doing wrong. Is it because it’s not a fixed Lena’s but rather a kit
Just stumbled upon this video while searching for Sigma's new lens. But while I was searching for sigma Trio prime lenses and I watched all possible videos, but RU-vid searches didn't show this video. Your video is very well explained and well made and deserve more views. May be you should try changing the title or tags or something. Anyway, thank you for the video. Was very informative and helpful.
very useful, many thanks. by the way, you talk very clearly and slowly and that's a pros for non English speakers, like me, to understand what you say.

Thank you for having such a clear focus here (pun intended). I watched a few videos on this topic, read a few blog posts, and most of them only added to my confusion with all the details that I'm not ready for yet! You showed us what it looks like, and gave just the right amount of vocabulary for it to make sense. I'm off to hit that subscribe button now, but before I do... Do you have any more tips about distance from the camera? I like that 3rd example for a talking-head style with that most blurry background, but how far away should I put the camera? I hear that has to to with "minimum focus distance" but I'm confused about it. So many examples don't mention it very clearly. You refer to it here but I'm not sure I fully understand it yet.
Luria, you're always making me laugh. But, at the same time, I appreciate the diversity of divanism to this platform. I've ripped apart my room to adopt much of what you preach (that be a good thing). Heya, I bought the Sony ZV-E10 and also purchased (recommended by the sales person) the 50mm F1.5 OSS. I will start producing two types of videos; (2) talking to camera (5-7 feet away from camera, seated, wall directly behind); (3) seated elderly workouts (15 feet away from camera). However, I'm looking for more affordable but similar. What are your thoughts about the 50mm and what I need to do? Let's not even think about the disfunctional "kit lens" that came with the deal. What do you suggest I buy to close the gap for what I need to do in tight spaces and low lighting? Thanks

I'm searching for the best prime lens combo for my Sony ZV-E10 camera. Is the Sigma 56mm and 16mm the top choice, or is it better to go with the Sigma 30mm and 56mm combo?
Best is a highly relative term, especially in this case, because it's going to depend on your studio setup, your lighting, your preferences and goals, and so on. These are the three options that work for a lot of our students, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it'll work in your situation. Some ideas to think about... You could go to a local camera shop and test out different lenses and get some feedback and ideas from them. Another option is to reach out to a company that rents lenses, so that you can test them in your environment to see which one you prefer.

Great video! Just have a question. I am looking at buying the Sony ZV-E10 and tossing up between a 16mm or 30mm SIGMA lens to record my lessons in the classroom. I want to be able to record myself plus the whiteboard etc. with no blurry background, what would be the best lens to achieve this? Thanks in advance!
The blurry background would be a factor of which aperture you set. The higher number the more things in the background will be in the focus. You could use any of those two lenses, just that you would need to keep the 30mm a little bit more further away. The kit lens will manage that without problem, given that you have a well lit classroom
Thanks for sharing detailed video of sigma tri prime lenses. Can you please make a video on Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 for ZV-E10? Actually I want to see the video samples of this lens before purchasing for my studio. Thanks in advance 😊
Unfortunately, it is impossible for us to test all of the different combinations out there. However you could go to a local camera shop to try different options or you could go to one of the companies that let you rent lenses so that you could test the different combinations to see which one works best for you.
Wow!!! I love love love love love this video. So much value. Gold tips! This goes up to my top 1 RU-vid video about lenses. Great great work! AND you made it fun also. Pro pro pro!!!! Love it!!!! Q: Can I use the millimeter-numbers in this video for micro four third lenses?

What is your distance when recording this video to compare the lenses with the camera? And how far is it from you to the wall of the house or the window? Thanks 🙏
well.. here are my 2 cents.. when you are informing your audience "here is how 16mm video looks and here is 30mm and here's 56mm" it would be nice to let everyone know what is the distance between you and the camera.. otherwise the whole review is quite pointless.. thankfully there is a moment at 2:14 where we can kinda guess the distance.. but should we guess? probably not.. as I said - just my 2 cents..
