Here's a Tier List ranking what I believe are the best skate shoes of all time. I cover Nike SB Dunks, Osiris D3, Adio Shoes, eS Shoes, and Cariuma. Some Are still being sold today. You could probably score some good deals on them for Black Friday / Cyber Monday.
What are the best skate shoes of all time? It's all up to personal preference. I ranked these by performance, design, and cultural significance.

etnies Veer, etnies Joslin2 , Fallen Ripper and Trooper, és Accel Slim, etnies Marana if the toebox wouldn´t always slip to the sides that much

Just seeing the Chet Thomas again (my first real skate shoe) brought a tear to my eye, then your placement of it in the C tier brought a tear to my other eye. haha!

Thank you for this video! For 15-17 years I’ve skated mainly eS. But I did skate some circa 205 vulcs, dvs Milan ct 1s, and supra back in the day. I just got a pair of low vulc emericas today, and so far they’re nice. Minus where I heel flip. The stitching is already starting to tear within one sesh 🥲

well..... We all know the Etnies/éS Sal 23 shoe is the best skate shoe in history and to not even see it in this list just breaks my little heart.

💯 I scored a pair of OG 23s from the late 90s a few years ago, they skated great and look the business. The collar paint was dying, so there was no point saving them. Just a perfect medium cup sole, not too puffy, not too slim. Nice sole too, still decent board feel, but still padded. Just 10/10, crazy it's never had a proper reissue.

Hey man future skateboard dad here, have the son just not the board yet, as someone who recently turned 30 and haven't touched a board since 14, what shoes and or board set up would you recommend me obv not looking to take a lot of impact more or less looking for something to do flat ground tricks, skate some boxes flat bars etc thanks man

D.C. Lynx were major for me back in the day and those Danny way 1 were another banger es and D.C. Ran shit in late 90s early 2000

I just got back into skating a month after being away for 15 years. My last shoes i owned back then were chunky giant moon boots. I didn’t know what was good anymore or worth the money but i kept seeing Cariuma all over so i got a pair. They are comfy and i like the claim they make about planting trees for every shoe sold but this brand is getting a lot of shade. Is there something I’m missing that this brand is doing wrong? Or are they just the new kid on the block and don’t have the game behind them yet? I’m genuinely wondering.

That’s pretty much my story as well! Glad you’re enjoying skating again. I think it’s partly a new company thing, but mostly, it’s seen as a corporation that dumped a ton of money into their skate program while neglecting skate culture and core crowd. They immediately jumped to berrics/influencers, rather than investing in local shops and small skate communities. They just seem really corporate and don’t seem invested in the core community of skaters. They aren’t really doing anything wrong. I don’t entirely care, but I don’t like the way they look 🤷🏼‍♂️ Thanks for watching!

Koston 1 all time best, Vans to me were always a B tier shoe when it came to skating, only people who rode vert wore them during the days of DC/ES/ etc. and I love Vans... Accel def a top tier shoe as well, the other Es are fine where they are. I had the Ipaths, they were sick for NOT skating lol. Man the Adios were trash but they looked cool. Everything else I could agree on thou, even though a lot of the Nike stuff was much after I quit skating. Granted, a lot of this depends on your style. I was a big Kerry Getz fan so that shoe fit really well with that whole look and skate style.

koston 1 shoe was one of these best of all time way better than the janoski. maybe if the jonaski shoe would fit people with a high arch. cant fit into them. loved those creagar shoes. had 2 pairs. kostons were before everyone started saving shoes

Adio was super popular in mid 2000s. Between bams shoe and the kenny Anderson's. Even non skaters had these.

@@SkateboardDad what blows me away is how brands when I started skating like adio circa, es and osiris were massive and seemed unstoppable are now gone replaced by new balance, nike and addidas. Meanwhile Van's is still trucking along

Ipath cats were one of the most comfortable shoes I've worn. I just remember that the sole wore out long before the upper.

i'm guessing we are close to same age. i can't stand vulc shoes, and ive never skated nikes. koston 1 s tier for sure, had 3 or 4 pairs, the lakai version was trash though. etnies mc rap s tier, basically etnies version of an accel, in full grain leather instead of suede and loud colors like red/blk/white like the jordan ones. globe ct IV was bulletproof, s tier for sure. vans trench was s tier as well, prob came out 1996ish, had 2 or 3 pairs multiple layer suede toe box and cup sole. looked good too my favorite vans. i haven't tried new balance yet, but the westgates look sick. i've never seen an actual skater in the osiris d3, but i've seen a lot of people wearing them

koston 1 first 3 colorways were all gum soles and only the navy blue came with an air pocket.

Did you skate every shoe from this list? If no, you missed a lot of classic shoes like Sal 23, Maranas, DC Lynx, Kalis or Williams, Emerica Reynolds 1 and Ellingtons. No DVS, no Fallen, and you put K3's on C tier, even if they were probably the most stacked with technology shoes when they came out.

It was mostly just mixture of my favorite shoes and classics. I felt like I needed to cap it around 25 to keep the video length reasonable. Definitely missed a bunch on the list. Just commented on what I really knew about. I appreciate the comment! 😎

c´mon have you ever jumped down more than 5 stairs with the Janoskis? they are weak as hell. and all Vans as well not comparable to etnies Michelin stuff, didn´t you ever consider to include them? bro shortly before de subbing ;P You didn´t even consider really top tier shoes like, Fallen, etnies Joslin 1 and 2, Marana and Veer
