I much too young to have lived through this era but none the less, I am so captivated by the meaning of these songs. The make me feel so good on the inside. I so wish I could live one day back in the late 50s.....
Wow! Talk about a "Walk down memory lane!" I was an 18 year old marine stationed in Memphis, Tennessee and Santa Ana, California in 1958. These beautiful songs and the aroma of orange blossoms was as if a little heaven on earth. What happened? I must have hit a time-warp. Just have wonderful dreams now of those daze (sic). Thank God He gave me those wonderful memories. The songs were beautiful, the girls were beautiful, the cars were beautiful and our country had not been ruined yet by liberals and foreigners. Semper Fi, ya'all Ole Johnny B.
Don't blame the Liberals (or foreigners), because nothing good lasts forever....In my opinion, things started getting bad in the 2000s, but I guess your perspective is largely based on when you were born.
Yes Ezekiel, the 50's were a wonderful time. But I also enjoyed the 40s, 60's and 70's as much. In the 80's I moved away from Pop music because it was nothing like the music I was brought up with. Still, I experienced/enjoyed 4 decades of wonderful music (BTW : I was born in '42)
I had my 8th birthday in 1958. They were such wonderful days in so many ways even though my parents struggled at times to get the money to buy me a pair of shoes.
Some people do. Buy an old house, get yourself some suits & leather jackets, buy an Oldsmobile & get acquainted with cassettes. You make your own reality. If I had a house, I'd do something like that. I already have the outfit, the tape deck & the cassettes. Though I personally prefer the 1990's.
Blimey! I’m 70 now....if only I’d known of all the things that were going to happen to me! There’s a lot I would have changed and people avoided...where’s the rewind button please😉!

@Odd van Tail maybe she's proud to be associated with a time when the music was unbelievably good and vulgarians like you were unheard of ... I hear you, Beth, February 1958 and a Cubbie fan here, too!
