Its extremely rare to score waves in Miami but when it all comes together it's something special. My Brother and I saw a cold front pop up and headed south. Check out some of the best waves I've ever surfed in Florida!
I've seen South Beach head high, off shore winds and perfect glass on a Summer South Swell back in the early 70's when there was a dog track and an all wooden Pier here instead of high rise buildings and Fox Surf Shop was across the street on Ocean Drive.
Me too I was at UofM when the pier was there.Got my chitt stolen from beach first time I went. Even worse now.Clickbait title from Newbies. For clean waves an no crowd get there b4 sunrise. South Swell at first street clean an smooth.
@@Wraithsdom they've renourished the beach numerous times. It changes. Good times nice fast break. 2006 we had a swell for 3 days. Over a memorial day weekend. Before they had urban week an kooks on paddle boards in the lineup. 🤙Yepp im Olde enjoy your youth an your waves. ✌
Spent my whole life heading upcoast on the weekends. Anytime there were waves down south, we'd surf Franklin Street. Didn't even think of heading South. We probably missed some really nice days as it NEVER broke like that in Dania.
I'm lazy so I fast-forwarded to 2:14 in and this music is killer!!! I'm looking to move to Miami to live out of my 2023 Tesla Y and become a surfer from Indianapolis and this video has convinced me conclusively
I was fortunate enough to catch it even bigger and cleaner with offshore winds back in the winter of 82. Solid 8ft with occasional bigger sets. Remember arriving at the beach and being able to see the waves cresting over the sand dunes from Collin’s Ave at sunrise. It only lasted about 2 1/2 hours until the wind and tide changed. That’s when Bird’s surf shop was still open in Sunny Isles.
This is not South Beach. Nobody in South Beach knows how to stall in a barrel like that. You need consistent exposure to barreling waves to learn how to do that. Nice editing though, I almost believed it for about minute there.
Yeah go further north.... Usually Miami is FLAT!!!!! Try Stuart public beach, powerful sand bottom break and great for beginners!!!! I've actually surfed some pretty epic days there!!!!!
lol i just commented that this looks like it'd be the perfect session. idk how you could question if this is fun. sure it's not 10 second J bay barrels but i love these types of waves where it's fast, shallow sandbar.
WOW!!!!! I've surfed some awesome Miami beach when it was blown out further north.... Nice barrels, but you guys were getting SPIT out!!!!? Looked like mini pipe!!!! Awesome guys just awesome!!!!!
