This is my first time making Southern stlye string beans and it was amazing!!! Fire!!!!! I am Mexican and my Mexican family said they want it made like this forever. 💪🏽👌🏼🙏🏼 God bless!!!!
You may not ever see this, but I want you to know that your videos have really helped me with my cooking skills. Nobody ever taught me how to cook or really take care of myself as a kid, so I'm learning all of this stuff now as an adult. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into this and I'm doing very well following your recipes and teachings. Thank you very much.
Man this brings back so many memories at my big mommas house this dish right here with some cornbread & fried chicken damn near got me in tears just thinking about it another great video fam 💪💯
Ever since I made this, its been in demand 5 times in 60 days. Ive heard it's the best green beans they've ever tasted in their life. Im making them again today for someone! Lol. Thanks for the recipe. Im a green bean pro now😁
Me too! Wish I had a man that cooked. Mine stopped cooking years ago, which made me slow down on the cooking. So I usually fix quick microwavable meals.
@@PlayafromtheHimalayas Nothing wrong with my bedroom game, I know that for a fact. Imma just say its probably his drug use that makes him not care about cooking anymore.
I'm sorry but some of their things are just a little too expensive for me so I ordered me one for at a cheaper price on QVC tonight and it's with the easy pay only have to pay $10 a month for 3 months I spend enough money buying this food😋🐷🐔🐗🐥🐥🐑🐤🐔🐔🐠🐏🐟🐙🐚🐓🦃🦆🦅🐲🌾🦌🐖🐷🐑🐠🐲🐲😪🙋 sometimes it hurts when you spend all that money but cooking your food it's worth it😪🙋
I remember sitting on my grannies front porch, everyone sitting in rocking chairs with a bowl in their lap jus a snapping away! Ur bringing back the memories! Lol Thank u!!
I remember snapping green beans, my grandma would say, the faster we snap 'em, the sooner I can put 'em in a pot...lol. Shelling peas, and shucking corn...all on the front porch and the scraps goes to the chickens...lol
I’ve been looking for this recipe for, literally, 20 years! My mother cooked it all the time. Unfortunately, she died and the recipe died with her. Thank you for cooking this!
I followed your recipe to the “T” and it turned out amazing! I hate green beans but they grow like it is their Job in my garden so I am so happy to find a way to cook them that I can’t eat fast enough😉 Thank you!
I love the way you cook. Simple yet delicious. I'm an old bachelor who doesn't like to spend too much time in generic restaurants. You have taught me how to cook AB! Thank you.
My GMA taught me this dish but I add bacon or ham n mushroom. This is an Irish and southern origin dish. Sitting on the porch snapping beans is a good memory with gma.🙏 You can keep the bacon crispy cuz once u mix it, it will soften. This was also considered a full meal during the depression.
I made these for my family for the first time a month ago and they are a favorite! My mom has made me cook them over 3x since ! She even told me I’m officially the green bean cook for thanksgiving !😝😂❤️
First time making this recipe today and I must say 2yrs later this is still the one to follow. Turned out so good! If you’re here in 2022 try it out and you’ll never eat green beans any other way. 😋
I'm 81 y/o. When I was about 13 I went with my dad to his friend's house. On the heater stove there was a pot of green beans, the best I ever ate. Not till now with this recipe has it looked like the pot the lady had on the stove. Thank you so much. I'm planning an old-fashioned Christmas dinner, and these are going to be on the menu. I'm having dishes that my grandmother and aunt had for the family. Such wonderful memories, the beans will be there too.
I’m obsessed with your channel just found you a few days ago and I’ve already tried two of your recipes! Thank you for sharing your cooking with the world 🌎 ❤️🔥♥️♥️♥️
I love your accent. I'll definitely be trying this for Thanksgiving and taking all the credit lol. Tfs! Your recipes are easy to follow and you're an excellent instructor.
This is my first time making fresh green beans!! Thank you so much! I will never make canned green beans ever again!! My husband said these are the best green beans he has ever had!! I didn't have the creole seasoning so I used Tony's!! That's the only change I made! I also doubled it!! Thank You Thank You Thank You!!❤❤❤❤
Damn good! This old Georgia lady has been eating southern beans all my life and these are delicious. You are my new favorite chef. Love your videos. Making your chicken enchiladas tonight! Thanks.
I love watching how other people cook classic southern dishes. Prior to this video I never knew that people cooked green beans with bacon pieces. The difference is that we sauté the onions and garlic and such with bacon grease from what was left after cooking breakfast. The meat that we actually cooked inside the green beans was that same as we used for greens, which is smoked ham hocks/smoked pig tails. Or smoked turkey tails if you don’t eat pork. Everything else was spot on with the exception of creole seasoning. Also, I never knew frozen green beans was an option. That’s for the advice. My stomach is growling like a mug.
Mine turned out great!!! Never cooked them this way, they were delicious. Definitely the only way I’m cooking them. But I didn’t add sugar. My husband and kids loved them.
I made this last week and it was a hit! I also made your candied yam recipe with it and fried some whiting. Everybody who knows me knows I hate cooking but you make it so easy and the food comes out so good! I appreciate your passion & you helped me get a confidence boost when my husband was smackin over the food ☺️
Thank you very much for the memories. My Momma was a country girl and I can still smell those beans and salt pork! I also remember creamed peas! All that with some fried chicken and life is complete! Thanks again!
My momma and great grand ma used sugar in their foods. I thought it was crazy, but it brought the flavor. And I am a green bean fanatic. I’ll be cooking mine this way from now on and add that sugar 😊. Thanks so much
This was first time cooking green beans besides opening a can. I wanted vegetables I like green beans but I wanted taste, this was outstanding even without the creolo seasoning it was delicious. Really enjoyed it. Paul, Va
Hi, you have the southern recipes down to grandmother's best. this is another one that is cooked the old fashion way and is so delicious thank you for reminding me how good string beans and potatoes are, I think I'm going to add this dish to my x-mas dinner.
Sir I made these tonight! I just came across this video earlier. I had everything except that one seasoning 😒 it didn't matter though. I cooked mine in 30 minutes and it was DELICIOUS! Now I just need to get the seasoning for next and I can see making this dish at least once a week! Thank you so much for sharing!!! 😎😍❤
I'm so happy I found your channel. I didn't think to ask my grandpa to teach me any of the dishes he would make and you literally have them all laid out for me. Its like I still have him with me. I'm excited to get started on these recipes and share them with my family!
Yassss.... Chef AB this is exactly how I make green beans minus the sugar. I get excited when I'm at the farmers market purchasing fresh green beans cause THIER my favorite veggie of them all...😉💕
@@SmokinandGrillinwithAB no I haven't tried sugar before but I will try it and see... I love broccoli to that's my second then brussel sprouts and green and last asparagus... 😋
Brookelyn Wallace Wow! Embarrassed to say it but never thought about buying fresh beans before🙄Think I’ll give that a try this next go around! Thanks👍🏽
Just made this for my babies it’s so good! I never buy green beans so I RU-vidd the best recipe and I love it! Except I didn’t have the seasoning so I just used meat seasoning for carne asada 🤣 still amazing
This is the only way that I'm making my green beans for now on. They were SO good! My family asked for to go containers😜 Now everyone wants my green beans and cabbage.
Made these for my husband and he asked what I did different because these were the best green beans I ever made. Told him the recipe came from AB and he knew what was up! Can't wait to make them again tonight.
Hey Bro, I have become a big fan of your channel and look forward to your recipes. I’m the cook in my family and you give me so many great ideas. I love your approach to cooking and the way you translate it to the viewers. Keep up the great work AB!
